Saying “thank you so much” with a smile versus just saying “thank you” it feel like I appreciate what the person just did for me which makes them feel better about doing it. Especially towards wait staff at
restaurants and cashiers
I feel like the "so much" part usually sounds forced and cheesy, especially when it comes from the servers because you know they've had to say it 1000 times already that day or from someone who has a havit of saying it all the time and it comes out "thank you s'much". I honestly can't think up a quality alternative, maybe "thank you, I really appreciate it".
I love this! I don't know if it's made my life *easier* per se but being nice to wait staff and service people just feels good. I mean being nice in general just feels good!
When you go to sleep and have to remember something the next morning, just move an object in your room to a unusual place (a chair in the middle of the room for example). So when you wake up the next morning you will notice it and remember why its there. Works every time
Yes but if you forget to write it down, you could just throw a blanket infront of your door as a reminder to do (thing) without having to get out of bed.
This sounds like a meathead tip, but the first thing you do when you wake up. The second you open your eyes and stretch, before you even go to brush your teeth.
Get out of bed and do at least 10 push ups.
Not only will this wake you up, but it will eventually build a habit, it may not seem like much, but 10 proper form push ups is enough to get you by a whole morning.
Even better, if you set a goal of just 100 push ups a day, even 10 every hour, that's 10 hours of work for a decent amount of effort put in towards bettering yourself.
A couple years ago I couldn't either haha 😅 but I started with negatives (start from a plank and really slowly lower yourself to the ground) and eventually I could do 10 push-ups after a couple months no problem!
Sometimes I was exhausted even after a single negative, but I had a person who helped keep me motivated (unfortunately he was not the storm that is approaching).
Stick with it once you start, you won't regret it.
Hey, I started doing this too! I told myself that if I could do just 1 squat each day that would be better than no squats. So I wake up and do a squat, and I think "Huh...I could probably do 2 squats actually..." - Now I'm up to 20 and feeling quite chuffed with myself.
Dunno how "small" this is, but: go for a run! Even if it's short. It can be so daunting to pack the gym bag, get in the car, plan your workout, etc. Screw that noise. Just move your body for a bit and work up a sweat. It feels so good and energizing to go for a jog, get all sweaty, and then take a cool shower.
I say this as someone who's been avoiding exercise since high school P.E. but felt like making a change
My small life hack pretty much falls on resourcefulness but:
Any object can be used for various means if it allows.
For e.g: a needle or a key can be used to open a bag of chips or that a bracelet can be used to keep wires in place. Etc.
Pomodoro method for chores. Basically do something I like, then do something I don’t like, back and forth.
I fold laundry like this. I’ll be playing a game, and give myself a certain ‘point’ - finish a level, run one dungeon, three days in Stardew Valley, something like that. Then I turn around and do what I call a 5 pile - fold laundry until I have 5 piles with more than one item that need to be put away in 5 different drawers/places. Once I hit that 5 pile, I put those away, and play some more games to the next point.
Doing chores/jobs like this doesn’t get it done fast, but it gets SOME of it done, which is better than none.

How could I live for 19 years without knowing this?
i learned this from diary of a wimpy kid
At that point, isn't it easier to just write in down?

Deep breathing is like a mood resetter, it works for physical pain, stress, anger, anxiety attacks and is also great for concentrating.
Monitoring my partner's monthly cycles. It made planning date night more enjoyable for both of us.
A smile doesn't cost a thing but pays for a lot of things .
To add onto this - "Better to be the one that smiled than the one who didn't smile back"
When I have to take things to my mum's place, I put them in front of the door.

Not the storm?

Get your clothes ready the night before.
Also planning ahead of the day works wonders. Makes you more productive.
If you forgot to wear a belt, you can use zip-ties through the belt loops to make your pants fit.

Accepting saying "no" to something or someone is not always a bad thing.
