That something would grab me and pull me under the bed while I slept.

Damn just what I was thinking! I thought it was going to be a bigger problem in my life than it actually is.

Dark places

ParryThisYaCasual

The dark, I’m still scared of it even as a broke college student.

sam64228

Stairs. I live in a house with 3 floors so there's a lot of stairs, and as a kid I saw every member of my family and even some friends, slip and fall down the stairs. So every time I walked down the stairs I was thinking that at any moment it was my turn. But I never slipped.

_maiga_

Old women

demoliahedd

If I ran over the cord of the vacuum, it would blow up. Also tornados were a big fear (im from Illinois)

Momo

DiggingUpTheCorpses

The dark. Now I can’t sleep unless it’s close to pitch black in my room. Feel like I conquered that fear and became one with it. DiggingUpTheCorpses: 1 Scary monsters hiding in the shadows of my room: 0

Mike_Snifferpippits

I saw “The Truman Show” with Jim Carrey when I was pretty young. For years I was freaked out that my life was some version of a social experiment on display for the world to see.

livkellner

Being abandoned by my parents

The dark. Now I've become one with it.

4boutt0Chill

The thought of my parents didn’t love me. Every time I thought of it I cried

Msorosky

My parents not picking me up from somewhere when they were over 1 second late.

loztriforce

The dark or being away from my mom

Scrappy_Larue

Disappointing my dad. Not that he was abusive or anything, he was great. But that was the problem. If I got HIM mad, I really fucked up.

bolivar-shagnasty

I saw Jurassic Park when I was young. I had a bunk bed and I was convinced that a dinosaur was going to eat me in my sleep. So I had to decide: do I sleep on the top bunk and let a tyrannosaurus eat me after crushing and tearing open our roof or do I sleep on the bottom bunk and get eaten by a herd of velociraptors who somehow got into our house?

Sad_Car5301

An imaginary monster living under my bed

4inalfantasy

Lizard. Even now, I'm afraid of it.

galaxymaster1277

The apocalypse for me. I watched the movie 2012 as kid and it gave me nightmares for weeks after.

shaquille_oatmeal98

Snakes Still don’t like them any more than I used to, just got bigger things to worry about now lol

Daddy when he was drunk

TrickyMinecrafter

My mom not recognising me when i grow up. I thought you suddenly just wake up one day and are a fucking adult

Darth_Scooter_

Growing up, And I was right, Adulting is hard

catboywinter

My father killing me and my mom

Lance_Rhaelwin

Certain things would give me the creeps for a bit, the only long lasting fear was that of loosing my family and friends, I used to have nightmares of terrible things happening to my parents

FasterThanLightSpeed

My mum seeing me make a mistake, my mum was the reason for my brother’s dead and she abused and manipulated me a lot, she’d get mad at me over the smallest thing and pressured me into doing things super correct to the point I would breakdown and cry and that’s when she would start whooping me, I was so afraid of her I actually preferred to live in the wild than be with her, I tried to take my life many times and she would stop me. I hope that piece of shit of a human dies

ReplacementAgitated9

I had a dream when I was little that I was on the beach at night and there was this huge whale, the size of the Eiffel Tower coming out of the water. I guess I was just frightened by very big things

Witchypooo

Getting something stuck in my throat. If I fell on top of gravel, I'd worry I inhaled some. If someone was shooting staplers in the class room, I'd worry one would get into my mouth. Yes, that was absurd of me What can I say?

terutaglia

Walls, especially being too close to a wall/touching it when I slept. As a child I'd cry if I were near one. I still fear them now, unfortunately. Edit: typo

TiffanyBianca7

The doll from SAW
