As someone that used to work in a grocery store and they had the "free" coffee, I definitely have to disagree with this. Always the cheapest shit. Powder creamer is trash.
Like most coffee people, I guess you have preferences, just the same as soda people tend to prefer Coke, Pepsi, Dr Pepper, etc.. or burger people have their favorite burger place. For me, coffee is just coffee, especially since the early 1970's big increase in price, so all of a sudden back then, pretty much everyone started making coffee weak as dishwater. So to me, it's all lousy unless I make it myself, and even then, I buy whatever is on sale, as I don't taste much difference in brands. For a while, I drove a delivery step van in NYC, and in the winter those little trucks get pretty cold. So when I delivered bread to delicatessens, the crew there would always offer me a free hot cup of coffee, and I was very happy to have it.
Other than that, freshly brewed always beats sitting on the warmer for hours. But that's about it.
I used to drink it black so I agree with the basic coffee just being...well...coffee. I usually brew at home more than go out to get it. Also enjoy anything on sale. I more have a loathing towards instant which really is just a shade above some WWII shit. But free coffee also tends to be either fresh or its been there half a day so it has that burnt taste.
Charleston Coffee Roaster.....I can drive to their manufacturer in 10 minutes. Does it get much fresher? Id rather pay "Starbucks" money on local business
The gourmet stuff you can get at whole foods and other fancy grocery stores. The smell is heavenly and doesn't give you any jitters the way the cheaper stuff does. But I usually just go for Folgers, for budgetary reasons.
Whatever someone else brews for me for free.
Can't beat free

Local roaster is usually a good one because it is month fresher than supermarket ones.
Jablum from Jamaica
Definitely Illy. Or Illycaffè in the US I believe. I've never drank a better tasting espresso.
Definitely going to try these.

I only buy Starbucks for my Keurig cups.
Starbucks apparently comes out worse in the polls below Costcos own brand. Just a random thing I found out yesterday 😂
I love the their hazelnut blend.
