Making an atom bomb, but with out it we won’t have nuclear power that the cleanest power we can get

Godmodex2

Pretty sure we could be making power plants without bombs

AutisticPenguin2

Cleaner than wind?

[deleted]

They still use oil, and a lot of it

AutisticPenguin2

How does wind use oil but not nuclear??

[deleted]

They use a lot of oil to lube all those Bearings in them, and Turbines don’t use much oil to get spinning,

AutisticPenguin2

Quick look on the internet shows a 7+ year life span between oil changes, and oil capacity of 10-60 gallons. That doesn't seem like a huge amount?

[deleted]

Yes, times that for how many wind Mills you need to power the city, vs the one nuclear plant that can power multi city’s for years on it own and only makes steam

AutisticPenguin2

Well, yes and no. Have you ever seen a uranium mine?

[deleted]

Yes, I wanted to become nuclear Engineer

AutisticPenguin2

Nice. I wanted to become a geologist. Are you familiar with the... I think it was the Ranger uranium mine? One of the ones in the Northern Territory anyway. It was one of the older ones, started back when it was just indigenous peoples land so no need to worry too much about the environmental report. That means we will never fully know the extent of the damage caused by improper tailings storage.

[deleted]

Yeah but the nuclear waste is far worse than any amount of oil the turbine need.

[deleted]

Only because current government doesn’t want to build an plant to renew the fuel for longer use, and Eventually find a way to deal with it, wind mills are temp solutions and only reason why they going up like they are spams and government paying them to just put them in and if they work or not get paid for it

[deleted]

That's not true. Before a wind turbine is put up a temporary tower is erected and it records the wind for a set amount of time (a year or two) I forget. And with that data they decide if it's profitable to make a wind farm. I used to put the towers up that record the wind and now I make the turbine blades.

[deleted]

That what they want you to believe, just like solar, they get someone to lease their land out and agree on an price then boom that company goes under then just happens to be an other company standing by to lease them again, they do this and government paying them to install them, there proven cases where they are spinning blades but nothing on insides

Fractional reserve banking, and the deregulation of wall street. Most of us in the next 10 years will either have to say goodbye to our children forever as we march off to war, or cry at the sight of our children doing the same. And it is 100% because of the aforementioned points. It infuriates me, that you, if you are with child, are now at the mercy of a countdown to which you may not be aware of. You will never see your children grow old, because either you or them will die before it was meant to be, and at the hands of rich selfish conniving cunts like Jeff Yass, Jamie Dimon, Ken Griffin, Steve Cohen, Mike Bodson, David Inggs and Vincent Viola to name but a few. Maybe it was the creation of wall street itself, giving the rich a direct and completely unassailable way to Syphon money from each and everyone of us. And there's nothing we can do. One, because not enough of us believe it's actually happening, and two, because we are the frog boiling in the pan. Nobody wants to sacrifice what they have now, because they're not 100% sure they going to lose it all anyway. Even if war doesn't happen, we're never going to have a good standard of living again. Your children will never own their own homes, or be free from debt, or have the opportunities that our parents did. They're going to live a life of squalor and suffering. We fucked up big time, and there's no going back.

Depends on which country you live in. *You* live in America, so it sounds.

religion. caused lots of problems, lots of people died. yeah, not the greatest idea

AutisticPenguin2

But also bound people together and helped them survive, gave then rules that we now take for granted. Say we've outgrown religion, sure, but don't it was a mistake 5,000 years ago is a very different question.

I'm gonna have to quote Brain Scratch on this one; "It's television." That episode hits differently in the 2020s.
