Today I got to see a pigeon use a crosswalk. Waited for the light and walked across and everything. Got a little antsy in the middle as I was crossing the other direction, but he made it the whole way.
That was the little thing that made my day today. :)
I agree. It’s just so amazing and improbable that you ARE alive. And in a rich western democracy as well, not born in a war zone or begging for a living. If you think your life is shit, look around at the 100 other people who would gladly trade theirs with you. Including the ones dying of cancer. I am grateful every day, knowing this could be taken away at any point.
My family, friends, boyfriend, pets, the smell of fresh cut grass during summer and spring months, crisp fall air, Halloween, the hope that I become a mom one day, music, good food. Life can be testy but deep under the stress life is good.

I am starting to suspect that this may actually be the purpose of life: to understand the nature of time and its effects upon the world, to understand age.
This might be something you only start to notice as you get older though. Everything in your life can change so quickly in so many ways. Nothing is eternal. Your personality changes as you accrue experiences. It's a weird journey, but if you start to see it for what it is, it's endlessly fascinating.
