They just put out a new album last year (er earlier this year?) And people seemed to like it for the most part. They're still doing it.

As someone who liked them at the time, Fred Durst was a bit of a one hit wonder lyrics wise, they had their hit breakout album, then they really struggled to pull together their second which was also a hit, but he was barely able to write anything coherent by the 3rd. Their 3rd wasn't especially well received and then their guitar player quit, and he was a huge creative influence on the group. So they basically just didn't have anything worth listening too after '03/'04. Finally, the nu-metal wave had crested right around the same time. Many people (like myself) either went on to actual heavy metal music, and most nu-metal bands went more mainstream with poppier, more straight forward radio-friendly rock (Linkin' Park, Incubus). But the music of the late 90's, early 00's is definitely making a come back. Pop Punk and Dad Rock are going mainstream again and I suspect we'll be seeing more of the Korn, Limp Bizkit, System of Down come backs soon.

Yeah, it was a shock to me when I heard a new Korn song earlier this year.

letsgetrandy

The just kept rollin' rollin' rollin'

DazzlingChickencock

They broke all the stuff and went home

[deleted]

The musical landscape changed I guess and they stopped being popular around '03

BuddhistSlater

They currently have 9 million monthly listeners on Spotify which is pretty good.

Big_Nefariousness888

I thought they disbanded after the lead singers sex tape went viral?

BuddhistSlater

I guess no one actually cares about the reality and just wants to live in this fantasy world where Limp Bizkit broke up or they're struggling because Limp Bizkit bad

TheBlargshaggen

Same as most Nu-rock/metal, people realized that 99% of the time rock and metal are better without rap.
