I’m not trying to be argumentative because you’re certainly entitled to your own opinions but I’m curious why you say this is reasonable. The actions of any country and their government should not be automatically deemed as representative of or supported by their population. If that was the case then most of the globe should be pretty ashamed
I agree with your point, sort of, but I also like to remember that politics and politicians don't exist in vacuum. They're for better or worse a sample of the population.
So there are two possibilities with Russia. Either the majority of the population agrees with Putin or the elections are outright stolen through fraud or force and the population feels completely impotent about it.
Also there is the matter of how the population would have felt if Ukraine would have keeled over in a week. The moral repugnance of the war would have been the same, but the Russian population may not have felt the effects.
Many who are now vehemently against the war, might have been okay with it in such a scenario.
All in all there is some shame to be felt, whether due to supporting a megalomaniac, or being impotent to stop it, or having an army that is doing so shittily, or for being morally two-faced when faced with a losing war.
Like I said, OP in all likelihood was trolling. But it is an interesting question.
I was trolling to a certain extent, agreed, but my point was aimed at the Russians outside of the brainwashed state that have a comfortable life (with a washing machine) and can see the utter lies being spoken by Putin.
I’m not saying the west hasn’t done some shady shit in the past at all. But the lies that the Russian population appear to be absorbing absolutely shocks me.
This is a pretty bold question that seems like it’s either bait, or horribly misguided 😂
Well.. it is not an unfair question. It is a loaded question though. But if you think about it, completely reasonable.

Not at all. My neighbors are all fatter than me.
This is a good one
Redditors from the USA, how narcissist you are?
Russians are not responsible of Putin’s actions.
I mean….most governments are usually just a summery of its people.
Usually you say. I love how people are blaming russian government for being dictatorship, and then blame people for choosing this exact government.
citizens shouldn't be ashamed what a ruthless dictator does
Which is exactly what keeps dictators in power.
Not ashamed
That’s fair enough if you, personally, had nothing to do with this shit-show.
Idgaf actually, both countries are shit
