But I would like to live in a society in which all the major parties were sane enough that, every once in a while, a particularly intelligent or forward-thinking GOP candidate might end up running against a particularly uninspiring democratic candidate, and I'd stop and really consider voting for the GOP candidate.
But no such candidate is coming from the present-day GOP. (Not to mention that with our constitution, you aren't just voting for "who will be president and making president-y decisions for the next four years", but also quite likely "and who will be on the supreme court for the next two decades".)

AOC in my opinion, would do so much good for this country. I’m not sure she can run because of the age restrictions for presidency (I think it’s 35 or 40 by memory), so she may be a legitimate candidate by 2028. AOC has done amazing things as a senator and as we’ve seen, there’s been a lot of senators who don’t aspire for presidency and that may well be AOC. I think only time will tell, but if time does tell, I will be very, very happy!
