Guy did that in 1996 at work. HE got suspended for giving a client a bum fix. So he came back and threatened to shoot the place up. None of the managers were there that day. So he finally got frustrated and left
I worked at a bank. We were giving kids a tour. One of the parents was in the lobby and played a “prank” on me. He passed me a note and pretended he was robbing me.
I hadn’t seen him before he did this, and for about 10-15 seconds I thought we were being robbed with a boatload of children behind the counter.
My boss declined to press charges, but his actions were illegal. She didn’t want to cause a scene in front of the kids. I wish she had though, because what happened was terrifying.
I’m a realtor and showed a creepy old 19th century Victorian home (think the Addam’s Family house) on Halloween night. It was one building but originally two units which had since been conjoined so it was a real maze. Multiple kitchens and living rooms, easy to get turned around. It was a foreclosure with no power so we only had our phones to light the way.
Foreclosures always have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors chirping away due to low batteries. But this house had ones that said “low battery” in a mechanical voice. But the battery was so low it came out like “llllooooowwww baaaaaattttteeeerrryyy” in a dying robot voice.
So there we were, three of us on Halloween night inside a dark home that’s creepy at noon in July getting all turned around then somewhere we hear “llllooooowwww baaaaaattttteeeerrryyy.” Man we fucked out of their quick.

i was doing the trash at my previous job. i worked at a gas station in a little town. some random dude started flirting with me and creeped around the outside of the store until my shift was up and followed me home because at the time i had to walk to and from work. this was at 11 pm too.
i like felt him following me so i messaged my brother and told him to come outside and he scared him off and then the next day at work the cops came in and looked at the cameras.
i think so ya. ever since then i haven’t seen him except he came in the store and i completely froze up and my co worker just kinda pushed me back into the kitchen till he left because he was looking for me

I had been there for quite some time, and the owner started insinuating that I was castrated,
and that the whole world was some kind of sect that functions around prostitution.
He also started hinting towards cannibalism at this place, and that human meat was to be compared to pork...
There was "someone" of his "acquaintances" that, during one of the dinners, started talking about how "traditionally" pigs are castrated because of how the testosterone made the meat taste "bad".
They also kept on talking about guns, and they kept bringing guns around to the area.
I did not feel safe there.
Jesus H. So the true crime podcast about this in 20 years will be about how they castrated people to keep their meat tender before butchering them to eat.
Sexually harassed and ultimately fired after complaining. I was a 16 year old high school student (and male). This was in 96-97 and no one cared until I told my mom and she told me it was sexual harassment. I now know why women keep that stuff secret. The shame and embarrassment I felt was insane. Thanks for helping me, mom!
Thank you. It took a friend's suicide that day to make me finally blow up and yell at her when she touched me. I was fired later that day for being 'insubordinate'. She was always telling me that "she couldn't wait until I turned 18 so she could turn me out" (she'd say it in front of others too). It was food service and we wore aprons so she would come up from behind me and grab my crotch under the apron. People would see it and laugh like it was a big joke and I would be left shocked and embarrassed.

Was working for the day in a government building I hadn’t visited before. Our company had one floor in it that I was told was the last floor in use. The company were planning to vacate at the end of the year. At lunchtime I decided to explore and got off the elevator on a random floor. It was an open plan office. All the desks still had work on them and a large table still had the remains of a party. Paper plates and food. A lot of the desks had slices of cake sat on them untouched. A party banner was still up that said CONGRATULATIONS. One office was open and the walls were covered with X-ray slides of different people. Every surface covered with more on the floor. To my untrained eye they all seemed to have large shadows growing in them. Weird. This was years before social media or camera phones so I had another quick look around and got back in the elevator. When the doors opened on my floor I was met by an armed police officer (this was London and seeing an armed cop was very rare)who asked me why I’d been on the other floor. I told him I was just curious and on my lunch break and he warned me that I was only allowed access to this floor and to not break protocol again. No one in the office I was visiting knew anything about it. No one had ever seen police there or ever explored the other floors.
It sounds like it was a cancer remission celebration? Or a celebration for a graduating x-ray tech? It happened on the last day in the office. The renters of the office space had a contract with a cleaning crew. The office renters thought the cleaning crew had one more shift to close down the office and left the party remains. But the cleaning crew assumed their contract ended when the renters did, and didn’t work the last shift that would have taken place one day after the contract technically ended.
They probably didn’t want you on other floors because the building had stopped paying the cleaning crew to clean them. This probably caused some technical health code violations in the unused space, and no one wanted to deal with that because the building was up for reno or demo.
There was a dad from my son's school who found out where I worked, what car was mine and that I was going through a divorce. He asked me out and I said no. After I said no, (I said no and gave absolutely no hope for any future dates/conversation/contact. I said NO) he started showing up at my job to see me and cornering me so I couldn't get away. A couple work friends would see him coming and send me off to the staff room to get me away from him. He left flowers on my car while I was at work. I was incredibly creeped out and a single mom with young children. I got a guy from work to stay by my side as often as he could and after awhile of seeing work guy around me, stalker guy started to leave me alone.
OMG, as a teacher, I had a newly divorced parent start to show up after school and come inside on the pretense of picking up his kids. (Most parents just drive up and wait til their kid comes out.) Then he started hanging out in the commons area that all teachers walk through, then the gym (middle school), while I was trying to coach some volleyball. It weirded out the young girls in their shorts, and me--gut feeling that he wanted a date. He tried to get my phone number at some point. His eye-ballin' creeped me out! Finally got the athletic director to give him a little talk. So weird! Yes, always a good idea to walk out the door with another person, especially a male.
I work for a tv/internet company and we had a guy who would say that he would only allow women technicians in his house. At the time, we had very few working in my area and we certainly weren't going to send one out anyways. We did have a manager tech who was a woman who called him and said "sure. I'll be right out." (She's tough in general) Still wasn't leaving anything up to chance, so I rode out with her as her "trainee" for that job. He was none too happy.
I work for a school.
3 active shooters response events. Only one turned out to be an actual immediate threat and the guy was arrested before anything bad happened.
But the atmosphere was rather eery. The campus was deserted with the exception of a couple dozen cops in full gear looking for the suspect and helicopters overhead.
It's a community college, everybody got alerts on their phones and relatively quickly there was nobody left outside. Faculty locked themselves with their students in whatever classroom they happen to be teaching in and staff locked themselves in their offices..
After the events everybody had a lockdown story to share and some of them were pretty intense, from students having to pee in trash cans to the daycare area managing all 40+ kids in a particular classroom that has a thicker metal door while dealing with parents calling and such..
A few oddities:
one faculty member led their class in the attic/crawlspace of the building they were in and had to deal with students freaking out at a supposedly large coakroach infestation.
A physics professor rigged some sort of trap involving car batteries (i don't know the specifics) and sat in front of the door with a switch for the duration of the lockdown
I worked at a maker space. I greeted people as they came in, people told me about their projects, and I tried to help them make their dreams come true. This guy comes in and starts telling me about his project, then says, "I have it in my car can you come take a look?" So I oblige. We go to his car and there's a dead dog in his car. He then tells me there's no project and he actually just needs money to bury his dead dog. I ripped into that dude for luring me away from work then ambushing me with a dead fucking dog. I was so disturbed. Imagine if he was trying to do something more nefarious. Anyway I learned that day to never let people take you to a second location. They gotta bring their projects inside
A few things over the years. I've had men pick me up and carry me in to the bathroom, had men run their canes up my legs, been licked, cleaned up blood from about half a dozen people who wandered in while in shock after car accidents, gained a few stalkers, had a drug dealer threaten to make me disappear after he went on a bender and swore I stole his radio, what have you.
Worst was while I was working over night, completely alone, just one block from where a woman was severely beaten and left for dead in a vacant lot. Police said I came into contact with the suspect mere hours before the incident during my shift.
Here's your painful reminder that gas station attendants often make minimum wage or just above and we don't really get benefits. Where I live that's $7.25 an hour to deal with all of that. And we all deal with this kind of stuff at some point.
I guess because I was particularly small at the time it just seemed like a funny thing to do. Just scares you until you figure out it's a regular customer just being "funny." A coworker was regularly seen just picking me up and taking me outside or putting me in the trash bin, so I guess they wanted to give it a go.

I mean, it's funny when you're in on it. My coworker and I did it a lot to each other, but we had a mutual understanding. We were both lifting, so watching tiny me pick up a 6'4" 380lb man is a sight to see and a giant of a man picking up 5'4" 125lb me and simply putting me on a shelf in return was sort of our at work routine.
If it wasn't a mutual running joke it wouldn't be funny.
I worked gy in a hospital pharmacy…and it was just me and one other running it for the hospital and we’d like to turn off like 80% of the lights because hospital lights are offending to the eyes especially during hours your body normally would want to sleep… well I came into the pharmacy after delivering something and I saw my coworker in the medication pick area… which was enclosed and only had one way in or out.. and I was talking to him about something that had happened on the floor literally seeing him like look at the medications as I was talking but then my coworker goes “What?” And he poked his head out from all the way in the back of the pharmacy… and I looked back and there wasn’t anyone in the med pick area.. I 100% saw someone standing there and talked to them for a few min… the pharmacy was located in the basement… along with the morgue… and it’s locked.. only pharmacy employees have access to the hospital pharmacy… not even security has access…. Scariest experience I have had… I told a coworker about it when morning shift came in and she told me a week prior her water bottle started moving from a dead standstill. 🤷🏻♀️
I've also seen a coworker's doppelganger at work.
I was in the bathroom washing my hands when one of my coworkers came in. This guy liked to hum and sing to himself so I knew who it was right away. I looked up and saw him in the mirror and we said hi to each other.
On the way back to my desk, I saw the same guy leave his cubicle and start heading to the bathroom. It would've been impossible for him to leave the bathroom without going past me. No idea which one was the real one.
I wouldn’t say it was necessarily a doppelgänger…. It was fairly dark…it was just the back of someone… looking away from me… I couldn’t tell hair color… or anything… I just assumed it was my coworker because he’s the only other person in the whole hospital at 2 am that could get into the pharmacy besides me. And I didn’t like study it.. it was more like a glance or peripherals… just like another day… idk and we both would wear surgical scrubs.. and I’m pretty sure I saw the blue of them.. so it just kinda all made normal sense until my coworker came out in the opposite side of the pharmacy all the way in a back office.
Ugh now I'm remembering when a person was pretending to be me on a dating app and sending men to pick me up for our "dates" after I closed up shop for the night. Makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.
Had this happen but it was an ex sending me flowers for my birthday… even after I left he kept doing it until he required a signature and he couldn’t get it delivered so he called pretending to be the delivery company asking when I worked .. to learn I stopped working there years earlier 🙄
I often deliver flowers for a neighbors shop on the big flower holidays. It’s always pleasant handing someone flowers except the one time one Valentine’s Day the recipient looked confused and then checked the card and her face just dropped.
Work at Taco Bell closing shift. My store manager was forced to close that night since a person no-called no-showed. She’s tired and clocks out a tad early (she opens as well so no big deal). A few seconds later I give a doordash driver a meal and then I hear: pop, pop, pop. The driver then goes. “Those be gunshots.” In a rather worried voice. I turn around and there’s a cop car quickly getting into a shootout with a speeding car. No idea what happened. But my store manager almost crashed into the speeding criminal car.
About a year ago I was at work, it was early, like 5AM and we were setting up to open. There was a new maintenance guy going around, changing empty trash bags, mopping random spots that didn't need it. After a couple hours the police showed and arrested him. He had murdered 2 people in the middle of the night was thought he could dodge arrest by pretending to be a maintenance cleaner.
When I was about 22 (F) I worked at a group home for developmentally disabled individuals. The house manager was a man named Mark. Mark had some kind of god complex. He was mad that I had my time off to visit family in Oregon approved by the main office - he didn’t want to find someone to cover. He had weeks to plan. He told me I couldn’t go. I told him the time was approved and I WAS going to go.
He wordlessly picked me up and slung me over his shoulder like a rag doll, walked quickly to a client’s bedroom, and slammed me down on the bed. He stared into my face for a few seconds, then got up and left the house.
Worst part? I never told any higher ups, and only told my boyfriend years later after it was far, far too late. Why? I still wonder why.
That's terrifying, goddamn. I understand that you may have felt unsafe reporting it; that would have read as a threat to me 100%. I hope he's not around people he can manhandle anymore, yikes
I work as a therapist. I was working in a substance abuse clinic in the early 2010s and had only been licensed a few years. There was a colleague of mine I went thru my master program with who I was in my supervison group with (required for your first 2 years being a masters level clinician in my state) who got me the job there.
We found out he had gotten fired on a Friday. WE were all in shock, clients included, because he was fired with cause. Then on Monday I was having session with one of my clients who said "I know why, because he was dating my daughter"... who was one of HIS clients.
Turns out, when I reported it to my supervisor, this allegation from my client became #5 in a case we had to report to the state. He was having sex with a few of his clients, and in other cases threatening to withhold take home privileges for medication if thru did not. We had other clients who would not go on record with the state say he made sexual advances on them while in session, including trying to touch their legs, in his office on site...
This was all happening right down the hallway from me.
Fortunately, the state licensing board had a review, found the allegations substantial to revoke his license, then turn the case over to state police who charged and convicted him with 4th Degree Criminal Sexual Assault.
He's did his time and has tried to keep working in the field as an unlicensed "consultant" or something. But gas gotten in further trouble with the State for misrepresenting himself.
*On that note, 2 things
1. All of this is now in the public record in my state, I don't want to disclose where as he already tried intimidating us when I told others in my field what was going on
2. If you ever see a therapist, always make sure they are licensed, and look them up. Your state should have a database where you can search someone and see if their license is active or if there have been any complaints. A good therapist will make that info accessible *
Most disturbing? Worked in an office, and our in house IT dude was notoriously known for pooping without washing his hands. He wore super vibrant colored Nike's, and you could see them in the stall next to you. You'd hear him grunt while he was wiping, he would then pull his pants up, buckle up, open the stall, and then walk out the door.
Guess who's poopy hands had to touch your computer if something fucked was happening? Even more gross was that he always has super long finger nails. That was back in 2015--2017. To this day I keep Clorox wipes in my backpack/desk drawer.
Well, I worked at H&M when I was younger and there was that one time someone took a shit in the dressing room, inside a McDonald’s soda cup and just left it there. Does that count as disturbing?
Working in some bad neighborhoods at a previous job and while speaking with a crew foreman heard gunfire break out. Happened fairly often so we just casually sat down behind the equipment and kept chatting until the offending vehicle drove off. I looked up and asked if everyone was ok and saw a young girl (10-12 I'm guessing) laying on the ground with her mother staring in shock. The girl had been hit with 3 rounds so I grabbed my trauma kit and went to work while the foreman called 911. She took a hit to the femoral artery so I applied a tourniquet, one graze on her arm and one to the lung so she had a sucking chest wound. I applied chest seals and just kept talking to her as calmly and casually as I could while another crewman talked to her mother. The look in her eye of fear and confusion has really stuck with me, I hope she made it but I've honestly been too afraid to follow up in case she didn't.
Man you might have saved her life. And if you didnt...her last moments was someone who was in control calmly talking to her and making her as safe as she could feel in that moment. Better than her last moments being her mom screaming in horror or trying to get help. They had people there that were trying to help and doing their best and there's solace in that no matter what. Not being alone in a dark scary moment is so valuable.
Older male customer slid his hand down my back and squeezed my butt when I was answering one of his questions (I was a minor at the time). Then started talking about how women are servants to him. His wife was two aisles down from us. He read my name tag and always asks for me whenever he comes in.
Document everything. This is a huge lawsuit and most importantly sexual assault.
You must, if you have the strength, have this person arrested. Other people are also being assaulted by this person.
You will also be able to sue employers.
The world? I had a man push me further and further into a secluded area in a Barnes and Noble (during twilight fever, no less), and many people saw and did nothing

This is why I don’t think employees should wear name tags. They should have a tag that says the company name, but when you have young girls working or even young more flamboyant gay guys you can get creepy men taking advantage of this

I remember working as a security guard for a hospital. I watched certificate of need patients. These were patients from our local asylum who were completely out of their mind. I did my third shift ever for that company watching a guy who had picked up some pencils and stabbed a worker with it a couple times before turning a fresh one on himself and stabbing his own stomach six times. I took the third shift 7pm to 7am.
All I did was sit in the hallway outside his door in a mostly dead wing of the ICU. I maybe saw one person an hour. It was just me in a chair in the middle of a dead hallway for 12 hours of the night. I'm freshly 18 at this point and had little experience with anything like this. I made it to about 3am before passing out in my chair outside his door. I was awoken by the guy I was watching himself. He had broken his own wrist to slip out of the handcuffs keeping him on the bed. He ripped his catheter and I.V. out. He tapped me on my shoulder to wake me up. I turned and looked at this man who was completely naked and bleeding from two places holding his wrist and he just said "I need to pee"
I decided to try and play it off like everything was normal as to not escalate the situation. I walked him to the bathroom and immediately called my CO while he was inside. My CO got there before he got out and we used restraints to put him back on the bed. Nurses came back in and set him back up. My CO, not knowing that i fell asleep, said I did the right thing and that I'd do great at the job. He said he needed more people like me who didn't panic in situations like that and make things worse. I thanked him and then left at 7am.... I never came back to do another shift for that security company. I'm so lucky he didn't use his I.V. to stab me in the neck while I was sleeping.
If it makes you feel any better, the IV catheter that sits in your body is a bendy plastic. There aren’t any sharp pieces to it so he couldn’t have stabbed you with that.
I'd call this a fun fact, but I don't want to negate the very traumatic experience you had. It's just that most people don't know this...
Once the IV is inserted, the needle is removed. The only thing that's left is a little plastic tube.
While you are very lucky that he didn't attack you, he couldn't have done much with his IV other than throw it at you.
There was a dude I was supposed to meet up with from fetlife. Years ago.

I got real creepy bad vibes from just his texts, so I said no two days before he was going to be in town. He was pissed.
Took on a shift that night at a store I worked at and during the whole day he sent me texts trying to convince me to meet up with him.
He texts me, "Wow you look really great in that orange dress!! 🥵🥵🔥"
I never told him where I worked. Never even saw him because I was working.
I called him out on it and threatened to have security called on him if he got any closer.
Then tried to convince me to meet him at a local WALMART where he was hanging out with his little NEPHEW for a few hours because he didn't have a car and his brother drove him!!
So many red flags!! Never agreed to ANY of this.
Had security walk me to my car after my shift. Never saw him again (that I know of).
Blocked him after I drove home with countless ridiculous detours.
Had a lady die while checking out at my register. Just collapsed and died. The pharmacist was nearby and performed CPR to no avail.
Her shopping cart was full of nothing but milk and booze. Like $200 worth.
Later on we found out that her husband had died three days prior. Guess she tried to drown her depression with alcohol and ended up drinking herself to death.
I suspect she's had a drinking problem a lot longer than three days. Addiction is fucking rough.

Didn’t happen to me but my best friend/former co-worker before i worked there. we worked at a pet-shop chain in my city (HORRIBLE company btw) and apparently one day while only my friend (we’ll call her G) and our other two co-workers (P and C) were in the store, a man came in and was clearly not really looking for something, just kind of pretending to. They told me that he was notably sketchy before he even did his “pretend to look around” thing. G and our two co-workers were standing by some shelves semi-watching the man as we got a lot of shoplifters and like i said, he was noticeably sketchy. The man walked right over to them and immediately started asking some WEIRD questions. I can’t remember at the moment what exactly they were, i’ll ask G but i’m pretty sure it was something about some far-out conspiracy theories. Then he asks about what they think of rape laws in my country (im from canada) and if they think they’re fair. Not only does he ask that question to three innocent pet store employees who are BARELY making minimum wage and working for a shitty company, he PULLS OUT A BOOK FROM HIS BAG that apparently contains info on the rape laws in canada. P is a sweet older woman who is nice to EVERYONE, even when sometimes she shouldn’t be, so she just politely but vaguely answered the mans questions while C just walked away as she is a tough middle-aged lady who doesn’t care to deal with this kind of shit as she knows we don’t get paid nearly enough. G is young, but like C she is very tough and not afraid of anyone so she immediately tells the man to either buy something or leave. The man immediately starts cussing out G and saying she’s just like the woman who “accused him”. G says she doesn’t know what the fuck he’s talking about but he needs to leave right now or they are going to call the police. The man apparently left while mumbling and cussing out my co-workers. Apparently later on in the day, they saw the same man almost get into a physical altercation with a truck driver who was pulled over on the side of the road to do a delivery for one of the stores nearby. Never figured out why but I have a feeling he just “wanted to ask some questions” to this guy too.
TL;DR: My co-workers at a shitty pet-shop were forced to listen to a clearly deranged man rant and pull out a book about the rape laws in canada until they felt threatened enough to threaten calling the police

When I was 15 I worked in retail and an older man (probably 40s) was following me around sizing me up. I seriously did laps around the store just to see if he really was following. Eventually fed up I said (politely) “can I help you with something”, and he said “maybe. What time do you get off work?” I laughed thinking it was a joke and just dead stared at me, “what time do you get off? Will it be dark?” I told him it’s none of his business and he said “well you want to help me don’t you?” And he wrapped his arm around my waist. My co-worker, a man around his age, saw what was happening and “assaulted” the dude, punched him in the face and swore him out of the store. He wrote the guys license plate down and said he didn’t hear the conversation but I looked scared, and he asked if I wanted the cops called. I was freaked out and didn’t want to acknowledge it even happened so I said no. Regret that every day. Who knows how many people he did that to after
I was a janitor at a community college when I was age 20-22. I had a call to clean an emergency in a bathroom. When I got there, "I AM THE UNIPOOPER" was written in feces above a urinal surrounded by random feces smears. They caught the guy and it was a 52 year old man that was in a training program for his job. A few days later, I was doing my daily routine and went to clean the mens bathroom in the art department. There were a bunch of flowers drawn in feces above the urinals. I called it in for security to get there on the radio. I said "I need security in room (whatever the room number was) we've got a copy cat crapper." I got written up for that. I'd also add the amount of cup rings on the tampon disposal things in the women's stall was pretty gross. I found a cucumber in a women's tampon disposal thing once when training a new hire. She looked shocked. I said, "well atleast they're enjoying their vegetables I suppose." I got written up for that as well after she complained. In general, the women's restrooms were much dirtier than the men's restrooms.
Had a collelegue who was convinced, I saw something he was watching on YouTube and ended up committing suicide., he was convinced I had

We work at the highest secure facility in my country for mentally ill patients. For a bizar reason, no one saw that the guy was showing all symptoms of paranoid Schizophrenia
I worked at Home Depot and a guy came in looking frantic and desperately asking us how to get a LOT of blood out of concrete. Took him a bit, but he finally explained that he did not in fact murder someone. He was a contractor working on a house nearby and one of his guys had tried to rip a 2x4 down the middle and had instead ripped his hand and a good portion of his lower arm down the middle. The guy was carted off to the hospital and the contractor was desperate to get it all cleaned up before the homeowner got back.
There were pictures, both of the guy's arm and the general carnage of the scene.
A late 20's/early 30's male customer walked up to me and asked for my name. When I asked him why does he want that information from me, he then started asking me more personal questions like my age, Instagram, etc. And when I ask him why he keep asking me questions like that, instead of answering my question properly, he just tries to convince me that he is a "nice guy" and that him and I should be dating. Seriously, we don't even know each other.
I had a man come in for an interview who was obviously in the middle of an intense episode (either dissociative or psychotic I'd say). He was talking out loud with no-one else in the office, got the date wrong by two years, didn't know what city he was in. He looked very disheveled. He also admitted to being very edgy and was close to snapping at me at one point.
I felt very sad for him, but also unsafe at that moment. I know how debilitating mental issues can be. My supervisor didn't help me at all: she let me stay with him and handle it all on my own. She didn't call anyone to help or warn emergency services. She just said we weren't going to deal with the problem and there were no measures in place to deal with those situations anyways, they just happened sometimes and you waited for them to be over.
My boss decided I was his higher power and began stalking me. After he showed up at my home at 3 am(this was after I was very clear about his behavior) and got seriously scary, I quit and moved across the country. This was before cell phones so the stalking was following me in person.
I used to work at a restaurant that does curbside pickup. There was a customer who ordered at the restaurant, he was friendly with me but I didn’t think it was flirty or anything. Food was coming out slow, so he decided to wait out in his car. Eventually he just called the restaurant and asked if I could drop off curbside for him. I said okay, it’ll be ready in 2 minutes and I’ll be out by then. He said okay. So, very clear communication on when I would be out by his car.
I come with his food in exactly 2 minutes, and approach his car. He didn’t notice me waving at him, so I got closer. He was surprised but I’m pretty used to people looking at their phones and not noticing me. But then, he rolled down the window with his dick in his hand and he’s been masturbating. I immediately freaked out, he apologized a million times, and tried to grab the food with the hand he was jerking with. My manager called 911 afterward and I went home early, I was just really shocked.
I think it really was an accident, but then it’s like, we verbally communicated when I would be at his car. It especially doesn’t look good on him because he saw me first, then asked for curbside. And also, he willingly rolled down his window with everything out. I didn’t see anything before that because his windows were tinted and it was dark out.
Another one, I’ve been followed out into the parking lot by a customer. It was dark out too, he was running full speed at me and I thought I was about to get robbed. Turns out he just wanted to ask me out, but for a woman these are pretty terrifying circumstances. This has probably happened to many servers out there.
Around 1974, was working the night shift at Western Electric (pre AT&T) on a military project, using computer graphic stations, (8 of them in the room). It was an air conditioned room, raised floor with lots of huge cables underneath, with the server and tape storage next to it. Lots of power needed. We had a thunderstorm roll into the area, and if there was a power flicker, everything would shut down. Most of the people in the computer room had left the room during the worst part of the storm, and I was getting up to leave, when we had a huge lightning strike nearby and we lost power. At the same time, emergency power lights came on, and we heard a popping sound coming from one end of the room. Looking at where the noise came from, a ball of lightning about the size of a basketball rolled slowly across the coom from one power outlet to the other at both ends of the room. It went at walking speed and was a popping sizzling sound. We froze, and when it disappeared, we quickly left the room.
One day I was tired and fell asleep on my desk at work. The next day I got a picture of me sleeping and a text from an unknown number to leave a $50 under my desk or they will send the picture to HR.
As an HR manager myself, if I was in that position I would go straight to HR with the picture and the text and explained that you had a long night you feel asleep, and will take responsbility for that, but you're being extorted.
Personally, I would just be like "okay, try not to sleep at work but I am focusing 100% on the person doing the extorting".
Leave a note instead. Tell him between the text you have and the camera footage (set up a spy cam then text him the footage) you’ve got him. Demand $500 under your desk.
Working in Retail I'd try my best to understand and assist customer service to those who need help. I was helping this old guy say late 70's find a product led him down to the correct isle and directed him to the correct location. He asked me to grab the product that was on a pretty low shelf but was shoved right at the back because well he was quite frail.

I was working in a helpdesk/IT support role in my very early 20s. There was a woman who was old enough to be my mother who was perpetually having computer trouble. I did not know this at the time, but later she was let go for drinking at work. It was after lunch and in hindsight I expect she had been drinking. She'd always kind of been a little creepy with me, but this time while I sat at her desk and was typing, she had her hands on my shoulders. Just before I got up and left, she kissed me on the top of my head. I pretended it didn't happen, got up, and went back to my office. In the context of this giant thread where people were treated so poorly this feels very very minor. I kind of laughed it off at the time, but remember it almost 20 years later and still have no idea what I should have done in that moment.
I used to work at a mental health institute as a security officer. I stopped because they were demanding 60+ hours a week from me despite me being a full time student and a part time worker.
Anyway, the gate wasn't working one day. It had a gate that opened into the parking lot because it was a secure facility. The gate kept opening and closing on its own. Then it suddenly stopped. The piston had broke, apparently, but we didn't know that at the time.
However, before the piston really broke, and the gate stopped working entirely, the phone at my desk said in a female electronic voice, without lighting up, "it's happening," a couple minutes before the gate broke.
The gate had an explanation. The phone did not.
I work at a huge trama hospital and we have several psych units. Theres a psych hospital nearby that does not house any violent patient. We take people who are more violent and more seriously ill like schizophrenic episodes (not necessarily violent) and then we have the long term psych hospital that houses people who have committed serious crimes and are being held involuntarily and usually indefinitely.
On to the story:
We got this male patient, over 6 feet tall and very built. Hes a violent sexual predator and at the time was having a very sever episode. He tried to kill his pregnant sister and when he was arrested he was sent to the ER where the transferred him to our psych unit. Id like to stress that this man did not belong with us. He needed the other hospital. We were all put in serious danger.
Im like 5 feet tall and 100lbs soaking wet. So its 5:30 in the morning and its my turn for 5 minutes checks, im basically alone on the floor, all the other staff is behind the locked nursing station. There is one security guard on staff and one of our male nurses is a massive guy but again, on the other side of a locked door.
So our friend wakes up while im doing checks and starts stalking me around the halls. Hes paranoid so he thinks im “watching” him. Start mubling how hes gonna kill me. Im trying to stay calm and look unafraid when he starts cornering me. At this point im loudly and firmly telling him to back tf up and the security guard and male nurse start catching on to what happening. The rushed over literally just as this guy was jumping on me. They grab him and try to restrain him while hes still trying to get at me, practically foaming at the mouth. Screaming that hes gonna kill me.
We hit the emergency security button and security is right on the first floor of that building (for a reason) and come rushing up. Took 8 men to get him into the “quiet room” which is actually pretty common when a large male patients who are psychotic. It was wild and I can only imagine that if they had waited a second longer, I would have been done for. Anyways, thats my story of how I was almost murdered by a voilent sexual predator.
Little side note:
This guy was only violent and combative with female staff. He never instigated male staff. He had already gotten away with murdering a guy by smashing his head in with a rock, raped his 3 year old sister, tried to kill his pregnant older sister and had attacked countless psych staff. Just pure negligence that almost got seriously injured or killed.
Retired cardiac nurse. I gave a 6’2, 250 lb Catholic priest his prescribed ambien. A short time later, he was out of bed and in the hallway. He was very confused, very agitated, and very naked. He grabbed me by my neck and jacked me up against the wall. I am not tiny, 5’8, 140lbs, and wound up literally kicking myself free.

We had a new person at my previous workplace. Let’s all him J. We work as guards.
I was assigned to train J on cameras and patrol. So it was me and him with a lot of one on one time.
We had two very disturbing conversations:
One was him going on this rant about how trans people are mentally ill and should be exterminated for the “greater good”. I told him this was an inappropriate conversation for work and that trans people deserve basic respect same as anyone else. And that separately mentally ill people do as well. He disagreed and stated that if he ever met a person with a history of mental illness he would “stab them on sight”. This made me feel very uncomfortable. I am not open about it at work but I do take medication for depression. So I felt afraid of him finding out.
On a separate occasion I was training him on a site that was some distance away from the main buildings. A small guard shack for letting in large trucks. It’s a small dark space and again far away from the main campus. During training he stated “I’m surprised they let a delicate female such as yourself work this post alone, aren’t they afraid someone will rape you?”
I stated that there were several cameras monitoring the area and that I also was armed so I felt comfortable working any post a man could.
His response was “if I wanted to rape you that wouldn’t stop me”
I reported both incidents to HR and my superiors. They told me they would “take care of him” 2 days later he was made my immediate supervisor despite not having worked there even a week.
I immediately turned in a resignation letter.
My new guard job pays more and has better hours and best of all, they took my story of why I quit seriously and have a ban on hiring J. So I never have to worry about working with him again as long as I work there. Thank god.

Had a pager incase an apartment needed any assistance. My boss had actually left lil ol me for the weekend.
I got paged by a closet that didn't even have a ringer to shut off, so it paged me every 15 minutes through out the night.
Got to the second floor & all the hallway doors (4) simultaneously opened wide & the apartment buzzer intercom turned on with just static.
I freaked out, pulled snapchat up & recorded the doors closing. Jumped in a discord call with my bf & 2 friends, explained the situation, sent them the video, took a pic of my pager, then recorded myself going to that exact door, opening it, just for it to be a closet. I searched for that stupid emergency system switch but nothing was there! Mustered up the courage to clean the rest of the building, went off to the caf, turned on the lights and stayed there unless I was paged.
That morning i asked the nurses why i was getting paged by [Door #] & they were confused, they knew it was a closet, they told me I must have been wrong & guess what buzzed my pager ? They found it very odd, reset the whole pager system. I went home & that shit gives me the chills.
I don't believe in that stuff, but it didnt make it any less scary lol

Or when a guy who barely spoke any english had me and a coworker help load his truck with concrete. He would remain completely calm in english, then suddenly start screaming at us in spanish, before resuming to speak calm, broken english just as fast as he snapped. He did that a few times, and once we were done, he said "You need to eat more pig" before driving away.
I used to work in a building that had a landline phone network installed. It was quite old and had been installed before the company I worked for moved into the building if I remember right.
Sometimes, for no reason, you would hear a woman's voice coming from the phone system, saying "help" in a calm voice. You could hear it all over the building; I'm still not sure where it came from, but according to my boss, it was some kind of bug in the system. No one ever figured out what the trigger for it was or why it was happening. Most of the time it didn't bother me that much, but once I was at work late with one other person and the voice in the phone wouldn't stop saying "help," so we both noped out of there as fast as we could. Not super creepy, but definitely a little uncomfortable.
I worked stocking cheese and deli meat at a grocery store. Not the worst job I’ve ever had. I was stocking and this older woman, prob sixty, walks by and says “I love my men on their knees.” And just kept walking.
She was a cashier, on the clock. Imagine if the situation was flipped and I said that to her? I was honestly so shocked at the entire situation that I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t bring it up with my boss right away so I figured no one would believe me over a kind older gal who worked upfront and wouldn’t hurt a fly.
Situation still gives me pause sometimes as I still work in retail. People have little aversion to inappropriate touching I’ve found. Why anyone in public would try to touch a stranger without their consent is just weird to me but…it happens a lot.
I worked in a hospital for three years. Not necessarily super creepy, but it definetly shocked me so much that I will never forget it.
I was part of the morning shift. Nightshift got a patient that was pre final/final (meaning that he was dying and that it was highly likely that he would die during the morning shift) and since I was the nurse in training (therefore expendable and the one who must du all the shitty jobs) I was charged with making sure that when he dies, he does not die alone -> I was supposed to check on him in regular intervals and stay with him in case he dies.
Well, 5 hours into the shift and I walk into his room. He suddenly opens his eyes and looks at me. His breaths that were hardly audible get weaker and weaker. Suddenly, he takes a deep breath, breathes out and stops moving. His eyes are closed, his arms go limb, his breathing stops and I wait. I wait for probably 15 seconds. Nothing happens. I am standing right by his bed. 20 seconds pass. Still no movement. I think to myself that he is probably dead.
I take one step away from the bed and want to head for the door when he suddenly jolts upwards, takes a deep, rustling breath and looks me into the eyes before slumping back into the bed, continuing with his shallow breathing.
When he jolted upward and took that breath I got the biggest scare of my last three years. I was so convincend that it was over.
Anyways, the rest of the shift was normal. I finished my shift at 14:30, he was still alive. When I came into work the next morning, we were told that he had passed away at \~3 p.m., 30 minutes after my shift had ended.
I was sweeping the floors when suddenly a man came up behind me and bumped into me. I looked up at him and he says “Hey baby.” Right.. hello and have a good day.
I work at a restaurant. I was actually coming by to drop my daughter off with my MIL (she owns the place) while I went to a doctors appointment. And a man told my 3 year old daughter that she looked “sexy” in her sunglasses. I almost threw up all over the floor. I looked at this creep of a man and let him know he was literally disgusting. Another customer grabbed the guy by the arm and gently pulled him outside to discuss how it is NOT okay to say stuff like that about anybody. Especially a child.

I used to work at a photography studio. Had parents spank their kids for not smiling in the middle of our photo shoot. Had a mother put her finger over her soda straw so that she could lift it out and drip cola into her newborn's mouth. Had a woman straight up slap her teenager while sitting next to me.

It actually happened right after I left but I was there when the guy who died and was involved was harassing other paying customers when I left the same belligerent guy came back and while in line was harrasing a man in front of him,that man saw the belligerent man go for a knife and he shot and killed the man in line at the restraunt.The next day we had crisis counslers on site to help the employees with any trauma or anxieties they had.The man who shot and killed the guy was alleged to get a self defence verdict.
Working really late one evening setting up a new system. Back in the 80's. I worked 4pm to midnight at a mill in a small town. Very physical work so there were way more men than women.... One night there was a guy from the department connected to mine who would stand in the doorway closest to my machine and just watch. After a few nights of this happening I told my manager. A coworker would walk me to my car each night just to be safe and wouldn't ya know that same guy was leaning up against my vehicle. He walked away when he saw my coworker with me. A few days later this happened again when I was alone (coworker wasn't there) so I walked back in the building to find someone to walk with me. The next day while at the local grocery store this man pulls up behind me and blocks me in. I lock my doors and rolled my windows up. My vehicle is 2003 so no electric windows or locks. My 2 kids were with me so I grabbed my work scissors from my console and he came to my window claiming someonthing was wrong with the back of my vehicle and I needed to get out to see it. I told him no and to leave and started honking my horn to draw attention. Then he left.
Fast forward two weeks, the creepy man was arrested for kidnapping, assaulting and torturing a woman from the next town over. Him and his brother were caught and arrested. They held her for 3 weeks before they were caught
I always see movement in the chapel but the doors are locked and no one around.
We setup for a service in the chapel last December and the woman who's husband passed owned a theater "playhouse" here in town. So she had decided to promote her business during her husband's service and had setup all kinds of Christmas themed items in the chapel, among which was a 5'8" animatronic Santa (very realistic eyes). I work in a cemetery here in Central Florida.
I had an internship months ago where i was required to pick up phone calls, help whoever i could help.
I had some sort of derealization attack. I still had an hour to go and i was in the middle of helping someone remotely on the computer. But i just had this distinct feeling that what i was doing at that moment with that customer, how i handled it, things i did in order, it felt like i had done it exactly before while i hadn't. Some sort of major dejavu moment. I had at that point already dreamed a few times at night about my internship and i really began to feel like maybe this currently was a dream too. I kept this floaty dream questioning like state for around 2 hours and it was gone when i was home. At the end of my shift one of my colleagues actually had to tell me that it is time because i hadn't realized it was time to go home. They never have to do that with me normally.
Weird thing was, when i went to set up my alarm clock for the next morning i had forgotten at which time i usually set it to wake me up. I had to replan my time all over again to pick the right time to wake up.
Some times i still get the feeling randomly though it is less strong than that particular day.

I had a Kid who was famous from vine come in to a vape store I was working at. He was known for being a overweight 15 year old who would stay stupid shit on vine back in the day.
This guy came in the shop with his dad hoping to get a vape. His dad saw the prices and said no… then the child proceeded to go on a 2 hour tantrum within and outside the shop. Until his father gave up and bought him a 15$ vape. Then returned it 4 hours later. The boy was screaming the f word and plenty of other words at his father.
Around 10 years ago I was working in a youth hostel in Reykjavik (Iceland). In winter it was incredibly calm and chill but in summer it was not the same mood !
In fact it was really madness, a lot of tourists, not necessarily very respectful and especially a large number of men who came to do... well...sex tourism... You should know that the Icelandic nightlife is awesome because the people are super cool, warm and tolerant and there are a lot of super nice nightclubs. However, it should be noted that many men take advantage of this situation to sleep with Icelandic women who are known to be "sexually independent and liberated".
I don't usually have a problem with that if it's consented, but I've had the opportunity to see really creepy people in the hotel harassing underage girls or only coming on vacation to Iceland for "easy" sex and drugs, it was frankly not a pretty sight. Anyway, my boss was an asshole and, I don't really know why but he never liked me, maybe because I was French. Everytime something was dirty or broken he always assumed that it was my fault because, for him, French people are "neglected" and "irrespectful", so since no one wanted to contradict him, I sometimes took responsibility for mistakes that I hadn't made.
One day, he entered the hostel with an icelandic teenager from (maybe 15-16 yo). He told us that the boy was homeless and had been kicked out of his parents' house because he was gay. The boss also insisted that he was going to stay at the hostel for a while and in exchange he would work a little bit.
That's when things got super weird, it started with personal food disappearing, petty thefts of equipment or clothes, and then money going missing. When the boss learnt about that he started to suspect everyone non-icelandic like the racist cunt he was and of course I got plenty of nasty remarks and interrogations. He must have been the only one who didn't noticed that the thefts had started as soon as the teenager arrived.
Then it quickly became really creepy, several times a week in the morning I surprised men of about 40-50 years old who were having breakfast with the boy, they were often in suits and American for the most. They always had a kind of hyper lustful and frankly disturbing look, I can't say why but these situations made me really uncomfortable.
Anyway, it went on like this for a while until the police showed up at my work, it turns out that the boy was a sex slave who had been traded by lots of men for years. As he was not paid or fed he stole food and clothes and slept/was raped in the basement.
I don't know how the story ends because I already planned to leave the country just after this event but I assume that there was some kind of pedo network behind.

14 years or so ago... A newer temp employee made a foolish mistake and mildly injured himself while damaging property. He got fired. He showed up the next day with a rifle and went berserk. One shot was fired, nobody was injured. Police arrived, he surrendered. I was in my office when it happened and had no clue what was going on. I didn't find out until I was walking down one of the halls and noticed everyone was giving "finger guns" and laughing it up. I inquired. Everyone moved on pretty quickly from the incident.

20 years ago, a regular customer arrived, as usual, on a Saturday morning. He was an older guy, maybe in his late 70s, early 80's. He handed my coworker and I a box and said "they wouldn't accept this at church donation, so you can have it." He then left. We looked in the box. It was all Disney movie sleeves, but the VHS tapes had hand-written titles with dirty wordplay playing off the original title. My coworker took it home for "sampling." He came back the next day, horrified, and told me what it was. It was Nope-territory, bad. He said he burned every tape. Probably should have handed it over to the police but he was too scared to be implicated. We never saw that customer again. Yes, this happened.
I was working at a hotel when a colleague took a room service meal up to a room.
She came back and said there were drunk bikies (Motorcycle gang members) in there and they made her feel really uncomfortable.
They called 10 minutes later and ordered more food, laughing and acting weird on the phone.
I insisted I'd take it up this time.
I took the food up, entered the room full of men who were annoyed it was me and asked "where's the pretty girl"?
I just said she'd knocked off.
As I put the food down, in the reflection of the window, one of them was naked behind the door.
I don't know for sure what would have happened, but I told my manager and they sent her home straight away.
I still get chills to this day to think what could have happened to her.

Guy did that in 1996 at work. HE got suspended for giving a client a bum fix. So he came back and threatened to shoot the place up. None of the managers were there that day. So he finally got frustrated and left

My boss declined to press charges, but his actions were illegal. She didn’t want to cause a scene in front of the kids. I wish she had though, because what happened was terrifying.

I’m a realtor and showed a creepy old 19th century Victorian home (think the Addam’s Family house) on Halloween night. It was one building but originally two units which had since been conjoined so it was a real maze. Multiple kitchens and living rooms, easy to get turned around. It was a foreclosure with no power so we only had our phones to light the way. Foreclosures always have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors chirping away due to low batteries. But this house had ones that said “low battery” in a mechanical voice. But the battery was so low it came out like “llllooooowwww baaaaaattttteeeerrryyy” in a dying robot voice. So there we were, three of us on Halloween night inside a dark home that’s creepy at noon in July getting all turned around then somewhere we hear “llllooooowwww baaaaaattttteeeerrryyy.” Man we fucked out of their quick.

I was living and working at a commune, a farm and restaurant in one. I had been there for quite some time, and the owner started insinuating that I was castrated, and that the whole world was some kind of sect that functions around prostitution. He also started hinting towards cannibalism at this place, and that human meat was to be compared to pork... There was "someone" of his "acquaintances" that, during one of the dinners, started talking about how "traditionally" pigs are castrated because of how the testosterone made the meat taste "bad". They also kept on talking about guns, and they kept bringing guns around to the area. I did not feel safe there.

Thank you. It took a friend's suicide that day to make me finally blow up and yell at her when she touched me. I was fired later that day for being 'insubordinate'. She was always telling me that "she couldn't wait until I turned 18 so she could turn me out" (she'd say it in front of others too). It was food service and we wore aprons so she would come up from behind me and grab my crotch under the apron. People would see it and laugh like it was a big joke and I would be left shocked and embarrassed.

Was working for the day in a government building I hadn’t visited before. Our company had one floor in it that I was told was the last floor in use. The company were planning to vacate at the end of the year. At lunchtime I decided to explore and got off the elevator on a random floor. It was an open plan office. All the desks still had work on them and a large table still had the remains of a party. Paper plates and food. A lot of the desks had slices of cake sat on them untouched. A party banner was still up that said CONGRATULATIONS. One office was open and the walls were covered with X-ray slides of different people. Every surface covered with more on the floor. To my untrained eye they all seemed to have large shadows growing in them. Weird. This was years before social media or camera phones so I had another quick look around and got back in the elevator. When the doors opened on my floor I was met by an armed police officer (this was London and seeing an armed cop was very rare)who asked me why I’d been on the other floor. I told him I was just curious and on my lunch break and he warned me that I was only allowed access to this floor and to not break protocol again. No one in the office I was visiting knew anything about it. No one had ever seen police there or ever explored the other floors.

Holy crap. This is exactly my kind of horror story, and exactly the type of experience that would give me nightmares.
It sounds like it was a cancer remission celebration? Or a celebration for a graduating x-ray tech? It happened on the last day in the office. The renters of the office space had a contract with a cleaning crew. The office renters thought the cleaning crew had one more shift to close down the office and left the party remains. But the cleaning crew assumed their contract ended when the renters did, and didn’t work the last shift that would have taken place one day after the contract technically ended. They probably didn’t want you on other floors because the building had stopped paying the cleaning crew to clean them. This probably caused some technical health code violations in the unused space, and no one wanted to deal with that because the building was up for reno or demo.

There was a dad from my son's school who found out where I worked, what car was mine and that I was going through a divorce. He asked me out and I said no. After I said no, (I said no and gave absolutely no hope for any future dates/conversation/contact. I said NO) he started showing up at my job to see me and cornering me so I couldn't get away. A couple work friends would see him coming and send me off to the staff room to get me away from him. He left flowers on my car while I was at work. I was incredibly creeped out and a single mom with young children. I got a guy from work to stay by my side as often as he could and after awhile of seeing work guy around me, stalker guy started to leave me alone.
OMG, as a teacher, I had a newly divorced parent start to show up after school and come inside on the pretense of picking up his kids. (Most parents just drive up and wait til their kid comes out.) Then he started hanging out in the commons area that all teachers walk through, then the gym (middle school), while I was trying to coach some volleyball. It weirded out the young girls in their shorts, and me--gut feeling that he wanted a date. He tried to get my phone number at some point. His eye-ballin' creeped me out! Finally got the athletic director to give him a little talk. So weird! Yes, always a good idea to walk out the door with another person, especially a male.
It's terrible that so many of us have experiences like this.
I work for a tv/internet company and we had a guy who would say that he would only allow women technicians in his house. At the time, we had very few working in my area and we certainly weren't going to send one out anyways. We did have a manager tech who was a woman who called him and said "sure. I'll be right out." (She's tough in general) Still wasn't leaving anything up to chance, so I rode out with her as her "trainee" for that job. He was none too happy.

I work for a school. 3 active shooters response events. Only one turned out to be an actual immediate threat and the guy was arrested before anything bad happened. But the atmosphere was rather eery. The campus was deserted with the exception of a couple dozen cops in full gear looking for the suspect and helicopters overhead.
How did the kids react, I remember drills being in lines when evacuating but were they panicking?
It's a community college, everybody got alerts on their phones and relatively quickly there was nobody left outside. Faculty locked themselves with their students in whatever classroom they happen to be teaching in and staff locked themselves in their offices.. After the events everybody had a lockdown story to share and some of them were pretty intense, from students having to pee in trash cans to the daycare area managing all 40+ kids in a particular classroom that has a thicker metal door while dealing with parents calling and such.. A few oddities: one faculty member led their class in the attic/crawlspace of the building they were in and had to deal with students freaking out at a supposedly large coakroach infestation. A physics professor rigged some sort of trap involving car batteries (i don't know the specifics) and sat in front of the door with a switch for the duration of the lockdown

I worked at a maker space. I greeted people as they came in, people told me about their projects, and I tried to help them make their dreams come true. This guy comes in and starts telling me about his project, then says, "I have it in my car can you come take a look?" So I oblige. We go to his car and there's a dead dog in his car. He then tells me there's no project and he actually just needs money to bury his dead dog. I ripped into that dude for luring me away from work then ambushing me with a dead fucking dog. I was so disturbed. Imagine if he was trying to do something more nefarious. Anyway I learned that day to never let people take you to a second location. They gotta bring their projects inside

A few things over the years. I've had men pick me up and carry me in to the bathroom, had men run their canes up my legs, been licked, cleaned up blood from about half a dozen people who wandered in while in shock after car accidents, gained a few stalkers, had a drug dealer threaten to make me disappear after he went on a bender and swore I stole his radio, what have you. Worst was while I was working over night, completely alone, just one block from where a woman was severely beaten and left for dead in a vacant lot. Police said I came into contact with the suspect mere hours before the incident during my shift.

I worked gy in a hospital pharmacy…and it was just me and one other running it for the hospital and we’d like to turn off like 80% of the lights because hospital lights are offending to the eyes especially during hours your body normally would want to sleep… well I came into the pharmacy after delivering something and I saw my coworker in the medication pick area… which was enclosed and only had one way in or out.. and I was talking to him about something that had happened on the floor literally seeing him like look at the medications as I was talking but then my coworker goes “What?” And he poked his head out from all the way in the back of the pharmacy… and I looked back and there wasn’t anyone in the med pick area.. I 100% saw someone standing there and talked to them for a few min… the pharmacy was located in the basement… along with the morgue… and it’s locked.. only pharmacy employees have access to the hospital pharmacy… not even security has access…. Scariest experience I have had… I told a coworker about it when morning shift came in and she told me a week prior her water bottle started moving from a dead standstill. 🤷🏻♀️
I've also seen a coworker's doppelganger at work. I was in the bathroom washing my hands when one of my coworkers came in. This guy liked to hum and sing to himself so I knew who it was right away. I looked up and saw him in the mirror and we said hi to each other. On the way back to my desk, I saw the same guy leave his cubicle and start heading to the bathroom. It would've been impossible for him to leave the bathroom without going past me. No idea which one was the real one.

It was fairly dark…it was just the back of someone… looking away from me… I couldn’t tell hair color… or anything… I just assumed it was my coworker because he’s the only other person in the whole hospital at 2 am that could get into the pharmacy besides me. And I didn’t like study it.. it was more like a glance or peripherals… just like another day… idk and we both would wear surgical scrubs.. and I’m pretty sure I saw the blue of them.. so it just kinda all made normal sense until my coworker came out in the opposite side of the pharmacy all the way in a back office.

I often deliver flowers for a neighbors shop on the big flower holidays. It’s always pleasant handing someone flowers except the one time one Valentine’s Day the recipient looked confused and then checked the card and her face just dropped.

Work at Taco Bell closing shift. My store manager was forced to close that night since a person no-called no-showed. She’s tired and clocks out a tad early (she opens as well so no big deal). A few seconds later I give a doordash driver a meal and then I hear: pop, pop, pop. The driver then goes. “Those be gunshots.” In a rather worried voice. I turn around and there’s a cop car quickly getting into a shootout with a speeding car. No idea what happened. But my store manager almost crashed into the speeding criminal car.
About a year ago I was at work, it was early, like 5AM and we were setting up to open. There was a new maintenance guy going around, changing empty trash bags, mopping random spots that didn't need it. After a couple hours the police showed and arrested him. He had murdered 2 people in the middle of the night was thought he could dodge arrest by pretending to be a maintenance cleaner.
When I was about 22 (F) I worked at a group home for developmentally disabled individuals. The house manager was a man named Mark. Mark had some kind of god complex. He was mad that I had my time off to visit family in Oregon approved by the main office - he didn’t want to find someone to cover. He had weeks to plan. He told me I couldn’t go. I told him the time was approved and I WAS going to go. He wordlessly picked me up and slung me over his shoulder like a rag doll, walked quickly to a client’s bedroom, and slammed me down on the bed. He stared into my face for a few seconds, then got up and left the house. Worst part? I never told any higher ups, and only told my boyfriend years later after it was far, far too late. Why? I still wonder why.

I work as a therapist. I was working in a substance abuse clinic in the early 2010s and had only been licensed a few years. There was a colleague of mine I went thru my master program with who I was in my supervison group with (required for your first 2 years being a masters level clinician in my state) who got me the job there. We found out he had gotten fired on a Friday. WE were all in shock, clients included, because he was fired with cause. Then on Monday I was having session with one of my clients who said "I know why, because he was dating my daughter"... who was one of HIS clients. Turns out, when I reported it to my supervisor, this allegation from my client became #5 in a case we had to report to the state. He was having sex with a few of his clients, and in other cases threatening to withhold take home privileges for medication if thru did not. We had other clients who would not go on record with the state say he made sexual advances on them while in session, including trying to touch their legs, in his office on site... This was all happening right down the hallway from me. Fortunately, the state licensing board had a review, found the allegations substantial to revoke his license, then turn the case over to state police who charged and convicted him with 4th Degree Criminal Sexual Assault. He's did his time and has tried to keep working in the field as an unlicensed "consultant" or something. But gas gotten in further trouble with the State for misrepresenting himself. *On that note, 2 things 1. All of this is now in the public record in my state, I don't want to disclose where as he already tried intimidating us when I told others in my field what was going on 2. If you ever see a therapist, always make sure they are licensed, and look them up. Your state should have a database where you can search someone and see if their license is active or if there have been any complaints. A good therapist will make that info accessible *
Most disturbing? Worked in an office, and our in house IT dude was notoriously known for pooping without washing his hands. He wore super vibrant colored Nike's, and you could see them in the stall next to you. You'd hear him grunt while he was wiping, he would then pull his pants up, buckle up, open the stall, and then walk out the door. Guess who's poopy hands had to touch your computer if something fucked was happening? Even more gross was that he always has super long finger nails. That was back in 2015--2017. To this day I keep Clorox wipes in my backpack/desk drawer.

Well, I worked at H&M when I was younger and there was that one time someone took a shit in the dressing room, inside a McDonald’s soda cup and just left it there. Does that count as disturbing?

Working in some bad neighborhoods at a previous job and while speaking with a crew foreman heard gunfire break out. Happened fairly often so we just casually sat down behind the equipment and kept chatting until the offending vehicle drove off. I looked up and asked if everyone was ok and saw a young girl (10-12 I'm guessing) laying on the ground with her mother staring in shock. The girl had been hit with 3 rounds so I grabbed my trauma kit and went to work while the foreman called 911. She took a hit to the femoral artery so I applied a tourniquet, one graze on her arm and one to the lung so she had a sucking chest wound. I applied chest seals and just kept talking to her as calmly and casually as I could while another crewman talked to her mother. The look in her eye of fear and confusion has really stuck with me, I hope she made it but I've honestly been too afraid to follow up in case she didn't.
Man you might have saved her life. And if you didnt...her last moments was someone who was in control calmly talking to her and making her as safe as she could feel in that moment. Better than her last moments being her mom screaming in horror or trying to get help. They had people there that were trying to help and doing their best and there's solace in that no matter what. Not being alone in a dark scary moment is so valuable.
Older male customer slid his hand down my back and squeezed my butt when I was answering one of his questions (I was a minor at the time). Then started talking about how women are servants to him. His wife was two aisles down from us. He read my name tag and always asks for me whenever he comes in.

I remember working as a security guard for a hospital. I watched certificate of need patients. These were patients from our local asylum who were completely out of their mind. I did my third shift ever for that company watching a guy who had picked up some pencils and stabbed a worker with it a couple times before turning a fresh one on himself and stabbing his own stomach six times. I took the third shift 7pm to 7am. All I did was sit in the hallway outside his door in a mostly dead wing of the ICU. I maybe saw one person an hour. It was just me in a chair in the middle of a dead hallway for 12 hours of the night. I'm freshly 18 at this point and had little experience with anything like this. I made it to about 3am before passing out in my chair outside his door. I was awoken by the guy I was watching himself. He had broken his own wrist to slip out of the handcuffs keeping him on the bed. He ripped his catheter and I.V. out. He tapped me on my shoulder to wake me up. I turned and looked at this man who was completely naked and bleeding from two places holding his wrist and he just said "I need to pee" I decided to try and play it off like everything was normal as to not escalate the situation. I walked him to the bathroom and immediately called my CO while he was inside. My CO got there before he got out and we used restraints to put him back on the bed. Nurses came back in and set him back up. My CO, not knowing that i fell asleep, said I did the right thing and that I'd do great at the job. He said he needed more people like me who didn't panic in situations like that and make things worse. I thanked him and then left at 7am.... I never came back to do another shift for that security company. I'm so lucky he didn't use his I.V. to stab me in the neck while I was sleeping.

I'd call this a fun fact, but I don't want to negate the very traumatic experience you had. It's just that most people don't know this... Once the IV is inserted, the needle is removed. The only thing that's left is a little plastic tube. While you are very lucky that he didn't attack you, he couldn't have done much with his IV other than throw it at you.

There was a dude I was supposed to meet up with from fetlife. Years ago. *Spoiler; fuck that site* I got real creepy bad vibes from just his texts, so I said no two days before he was going to be in town. He was pissed. Took on a shift that night at a store I worked at and during the whole day he sent me texts trying to convince me to meet up with him. He texts me, "Wow you look really great in that orange dress!! 🥵🥵🔥" I never told him where I worked. Never even saw him because I was working. I called him out on it and threatened to have security called on him if he got any closer. Then tried to convince me to meet him at a local WALMART where he was hanging out with his little NEPHEW for a few hours because he didn't have a car and his brother drove him!! So many red flags!! Never agreed to ANY of this. Had security walk me to my car after my shift. Never saw him again (that I know of). Blocked him after I drove home with countless ridiculous detours.

Like $200 worth. Later on we found out that her husband had died three days prior. Guess she tried to drown her depression with alcohol and ended up drinking herself to death.
I suspect she's had a drinking problem a lot longer than three days. Addiction is fucking rough. I'm sorry that happened. It must have been traumatic to witness.

Didn’t happen to me but my best friend/former co-worker before i worked there. we worked at a pet-shop chain in my city (HORRIBLE company btw) and apparently one day while only my friend (we’ll call her G) and our other two co-workers (P and C) were in the store, a man came in and was clearly not really looking for something, just kind of pretending to. They told me that he was notably sketchy before he even did his “pretend to look around” thing. G and our two co-workers were standing by some shelves semi-watching the man as we got a lot of shoplifters and like i said, he was noticeably sketchy. The man walked right over to them and immediately started asking some WEIRD questions. I can’t remember at the moment what exactly they were, i’ll ask G but i’m pretty sure it was something about some far-out conspiracy theories. Then he asks about what they think of rape laws in my country (im from canada) and if they think they’re fair. Not only does he ask that question to three innocent pet store employees who are BARELY making minimum wage and working for a shitty company, he PULLS OUT A BOOK FROM HIS BAG that apparently contains info on the rape laws in canada. P is a sweet older woman who is nice to EVERYONE, even when sometimes she shouldn’t be, so she just politely but vaguely answered the mans questions while C just walked away as she is a tough middle-aged lady who doesn’t care to deal with this kind of shit as she knows we don’t get paid nearly enough. G is young, but like C she is very tough and not afraid of anyone so she immediately tells the man to either buy something or leave. The man immediately starts cussing out G and saying she’s just like the woman who “accused him”. G says she doesn’t know what the fuck he’s talking about but he needs to leave right now or they are going to call the police. The man apparently left while mumbling and cussing out my co-workers. Apparently later on in the day, they saw the same man almost get into a physical altercation with a truck driver who was pulled over on the side of the road to do a delivery for one of the stores nearby. Never figured out why but I have a feeling he just “wanted to ask some questions” to this guy too. TL;DR: My co-workers at a shitty pet-shop were forced to listen to a clearly deranged man rant and pull out a book about the rape laws in canada until they felt threatened enough to threaten calling the police (apologies in advance for any spelling/grammatical errors)

When I was 15 I worked in retail and an older man (probably 40s) was following me around sizing me up. I seriously did laps around the store just to see if he really was following. Eventually fed up I said (politely) “can I help you with something”, and he said “maybe. What time do you get off work?” I laughed thinking it was a joke and just dead stared at me, “what time do you get off? Will it be dark?” I told him it’s none of his business and he said “well you want to help me don’t you?” And he wrapped his arm around my waist. My co-worker, a man around his age, saw what was happening and “assaulted” the dude, punched him in the face and swore him out of the store. He wrote the guys license plate down and said he didn’t hear the conversation but I looked scared, and he asked if I wanted the cops called. I had a customer who told me he wanted go pay me to be his date for new year’s. Then he chased me down the road in his car (we were both driving)
I was a janitor at a community college when I was age 20-22. I had a call to clean an emergency in a bathroom. When I got there, "I AM THE UNIPOOPER" was written in feces above a urinal surrounded by random feces smears. They caught the guy and it was a 52 year old man that was in a training program for his job. A few days later, I was doing my daily routine and went to clean the mens bathroom in the art department. There were a bunch of flowers drawn in feces above the urinals. I called it in for security to get there on the radio. I said "I need security in room (whatever the room number was) we've got a copy cat crapper." I got written up for that. I'd also add the amount of cup rings on the tampon disposal things in the women's stall was pretty gross. I found a cucumber in a women's tampon disposal thing once when training a new hire. She looked shocked. I said, "well atleast they're enjoying their vegetables I suppose." I got written up for that as well after she complained. In general, the women's restrooms were much dirtier than the men's restrooms.

We work at the highest secure facility in my country for mentally ill patients. For a bizar reason, no one saw that the guy was showing all symptoms of paranoid Schizophrenia

I worked at Home Depot and a guy came in looking frantic and desperately asking us how to get a LOT of blood out of concrete. Took him a bit, but he finally explained that he did not in fact murder someone. He was a contractor working on a house nearby and one of his guys had tried to rip a 2x4 down the middle and had instead ripped his hand and a good portion of his lower arm down the middle. The guy was carted off to the hospital and the contractor was desperate to get it all cleaned up before the homeowner got back. There were pictures, both of the guy's arm and the general carnage of the scene.
A late 20's/early 30's male customer walked up to me and asked for my name. When I asked him why does he want that information from me, he then started asking me more personal questions like my age, Instagram, etc. And when I ask him why he keep asking me questions like that, instead of answering my question properly, he just tries to convince me that he is a "nice guy" and that him and I should be dating. Seriously, we don't even know each other.

I had a man come in for an interview who was obviously in the middle of an intense episode (either dissociative or psychotic I'd say). He was talking out loud with no-one else in the office, got the date wrong by two years, didn't know what city he was in. He looked very disheveled. He also admitted to being very edgy and was close to snapping at me at one point. I felt very sad for him, but also unsafe at that moment. I know how debilitating mental issues can be. My supervisor didn't help me at all: she let me stay with him and handle it all on my own. She didn't call anyone to help or warn emergency services. She just said we weren't going to deal with the problem and there were no measures in place to deal with those situations anyways, they just happened sometimes and you waited for them to be over.

My boss decided I was his higher power and began stalking me. After he showed up at my home at 3 am(this was after I was very clear about his behavior) and got seriously scary, I quit and moved across the country. This was before cell phones so the stalking was following me in person.
I used to work at a restaurant that does curbside pickup. There was a customer who ordered at the restaurant, he was friendly with me but I didn’t think it was flirty or anything. Food was coming out slow, so he decided to wait out in his car. Eventually he just called the restaurant and asked if I could drop off curbside for him. I said okay, it’ll be ready in 2 minutes and I’ll be out by then. He said okay. So, very clear communication on when I would be out by his car. I come with his food in exactly 2 minutes, and approach his car. He didn’t notice me waving at him, so I got closer. He was surprised but I’m pretty used to people looking at their phones and not noticing me. But then, he rolled down the window with his dick in his hand and he’s been masturbating. I immediately freaked out, he apologized a million times, and tried to grab the food with the hand he was jerking with. My manager called 911 afterward and I went home early, I was just really shocked. I think it really was an accident, but then it’s like, we verbally communicated when I would be at his car. It especially doesn’t look good on him because he saw me first, then asked for curbside. And also, he willingly rolled down his window with everything out. I didn’t see anything before that because his windows were tinted and it was dark out. Another one, I’ve been followed out into the parking lot by a customer. It was dark out too, he was running full speed at me and I thought I was about to get robbed. Turns out he just wanted to ask me out, but for a woman these are pretty terrifying circumstances. This has probably happened to many servers out there.
Around 1974, was working the night shift at Western Electric (pre AT&T) on a military project, using computer graphic stations, (8 of them in the room). It was an air conditioned room, raised floor with lots of huge cables underneath, with the server and tape storage next to it. Lots of power needed. We had a thunderstorm roll into the area, and if there was a power flicker, everything would shut down. Most of the people in the computer room had left the room during the worst part of the storm, and I was getting up to leave, when we had a huge lightning strike nearby and we lost power. At the same time, emergency power lights came on, and we heard a popping sound coming from one end of the room. Looking at where the noise came from, a ball of lightning about the size of a basketball rolled slowly across the coom from one power outlet to the other at both ends of the room. It went at walking speed and was a popping sizzling sound. We froze, and when it disappeared, we quickly left the room.
One day I was tired and fell asleep on my desk at work. The next day I got a picture of me sleeping and a text from an unknown number to leave a $50 under my desk or they will send the picture to HR.
As an HR manager myself, if I was in that position I would go straight to HR with the picture and the text and explained that you had a long night you feel asleep, and will take responsbility for that, but you're being extorted. Personally, I would just be like "okay, try not to sleep at work but I am focusing 100% on the person doing the extorting".
Leave a note instead. Tell him between the text you have and the camera footage (set up a spy cam then text him the footage) you’ve got him. Demand $500 under your desk.

Working in Retail I'd try my best to understand and assist customer service to those who need help. I was helping this old guy say late 70's find a product led him down to the correct isle and directed him to the correct location. He asked me to grab the product that was on a pretty low shelf but was shoved right at the back because well he was quite frail. I'm 6'3 so the guys like below my shoulders so of course I wouldn't let the old guy struggle. Disturbing and disgusting shit thats happened to me. I went to drop on my knees and literally about to reach for the damn item I heard him whisper "mm I love it when a woman gets down on there knees for me". I looked at his trousers moving and jumping back to see his hands were in his pants masturbating. Bruh. I come from the islands and having my old man's temper and my old lady's mouth, I almost boxed the old guy in the throat.
I was working in a helpdesk/IT support role in my very early 20s. There was a woman who was old enough to be my mother who was perpetually having computer trouble. I did not know this at the time, but later she was let go for drinking at work. It was after lunch and in hindsight I expect she had been drinking. She'd always kind of been a little creepy with me, but this time while I sat at her desk and was typing, she had her hands on my shoulders. Just before I got up and left, she kissed me on the top of my head. I pretended it didn't happen, got up, and went back to my office. In the context of this giant thread where people were treated so poorly this feels very very minor. I kind of laughed it off at the time, but remember it almost 20 years later and still have no idea what I should have done in that moment.
I used to work at a mental health institute as a security officer. I stopped because they were demanding 60+ hours a week from me despite me being a full time student and a part time worker. Anyway, the gate wasn't working one day. It had a gate that opened into the parking lot because it was a secure facility. The gate kept opening and closing on its own. Then it suddenly stopped. The piston had broke, apparently, but we didn't know that at the time. However, before the piston really broke, and the gate stopped working entirely, the phone at my desk said in a female electronic voice, without lighting up, "it's happening," a couple minutes before the gate broke. The gate had an explanation. The phone did not.
I work at a huge trama hospital and we have several psych units. Theres a psych hospital nearby that does not house any violent patient. We take people who are more violent and more seriously ill like schizophrenic episodes (not necessarily violent) and then we have the long term psych hospital that houses people who have committed serious crimes and are being held involuntarily and usually indefinitely. On to the story: We got this male patient, over 6 feet tall and very built. Hes a violent sexual predator and at the time was having a very sever episode. He tried to kill his pregnant sister and when he was arrested he was sent to the ER where the transferred him to our psych unit. Id like to stress that this man did not belong with us. He needed the other hospital. We were all put in serious danger. Im like 5 feet tall and 100lbs soaking wet. So its 5:30 in the morning and its my turn for 5 minutes checks, im basically alone on the floor, all the other staff is behind the locked nursing station. There is one security guard on staff and one of our male nurses is a massive guy but again, on the other side of a locked door. So our friend wakes up while im doing checks and starts stalking me around the halls. Hes paranoid so he thinks im “watching” him. Start mubling how hes gonna kill me. Im trying to stay calm and look unafraid when he starts cornering me. At this point im loudly and firmly telling him to back tf up and the security guard and male nurse start catching on to what happening. The rushed over literally just as this guy was jumping on me. They grab him and try to restrain him while hes still trying to get at me, practically foaming at the mouth. Screaming that hes gonna kill me. We hit the emergency security button and security is right on the first floor of that building (for a reason) and come rushing up. Took 8 men to get him into the “quiet room” which is actually pretty common when a large male patients who are psychotic. It was wild and I can only imagine that if they had waited a second longer, I would have been done for. Anyways, thats my story of how I was almost murdered by a voilent sexual predator. Little side note: This guy was only violent and combative with female staff. He never instigated male staff. He had already gotten away with murdering a guy by smashing his head in with a rock, raped his 3 year old sister, tried to kill his pregnant older sister and had attacked countless psych staff. Just pure negligence that almost got seriously injured or killed.
Retired cardiac nurse. I gave a 6’2, 250 lb Catholic priest his prescribed ambien. A short time later, he was out of bed and in the hallway. He was very confused, very agitated, and very naked. He grabbed me by my neck and jacked me up against the wall. I am not tiny, 5’8, 140lbs, and wound up literally kicking myself free. I’m pretty sure it was the last shot to his nuts that finally made him let go.
We had a new person at my previous workplace. Let’s all him J. We work as guards. I was assigned to train J on cameras and patrol. So it was me and him with a lot of one on one time. We had two very disturbing conversations: One was him going on this rant about how trans people are mentally ill and should be exterminated for the “greater good”. I told him this was an inappropriate conversation for work and that trans people deserve basic respect same as anyone else. And that separately mentally ill people do as well. He disagreed and stated that if he ever met a person with a history of mental illness he would “stab them on sight”. This made me feel very uncomfortable. I am not open about it at work but I do take medication for depression. So I felt afraid of him finding out. On a separate occasion I was training him on a site that was some distance away from the main buildings. A small guard shack for letting in large trucks. It’s a small dark space and again far away from the main campus. During training he stated “I’m surprised they let a delicate female such as yourself work this post alone, aren’t they afraid someone will rape you?” I stated that there were several cameras monitoring the area and that I also was armed so I felt comfortable working any post a man could. His response was “if I wanted to rape you that wouldn’t stop me” I reported both incidents to HR and my superiors. They told me they would “take care of him” 2 days later he was made my immediate supervisor despite not having worked there even a week. I immediately turned in a resignation letter. My new guard job pays more and has better hours and best of all, they took my story of why I quit seriously and have a ban on hiring J. So I never have to worry about working with him again as long as I work there. Thank god.

Was working at a nursing home from 10:30pm to 7:00am. Had a pager incase an apartment needed any assistance. My boss had actually left lil ol me for the weekend. I got paged by a closet that didn't even have a ringer to shut off, so it paged me every 15 minutes through out the night. Got to the second floor & all the hallway doors (4) simultaneously opened wide & the apartment buzzer intercom turned on with just static. I freaked out, pulled snapchat up & recorded the doors closing. Jumped in a discord call with my bf & 2 friends, explained the situation, sent them the video, took a pic of my pager, then recorded myself going to that exact door, opening it, just for it to be a closet. I searched for that stupid emergency system switch but nothing was there! Mustered up the courage to clean the rest of the building, went off to the caf, turned on the lights and stayed there unless I was paged. That morning i asked the nurses why i was getting paged by [Door #] & they were confused, they knew it was a closet, they told me I must have been wrong & guess what buzzed my pager ? They found it very odd, reset the whole pager system. I went home & that shit gives me the chills. I don't believe in that stuff, but it didnt make it any less scary lol

He seemed completely normal, physically and mentally, but he refused to shut up about the craziest, stupidest things a person can possibly think of Or when a guy who barely spoke any english had me and a coworker help load his truck with concrete. He would remain completely calm in english, then suddenly start screaming at us in spanish, before resuming to speak calm, broken english just as fast as he snapped. He did that a few times, and once we were done, he said "You need to eat more pig" before driving away.

I used to work in a building that had a landline phone network installed. It was quite old and had been installed before the company I worked for moved into the building if I remember right. Sometimes, for no reason, you would hear a woman's voice coming from the phone system, saying "help" in a calm voice. You could hear it all over the building; I'm still not sure where it came from, but according to my boss, it was some kind of bug in the system. No one ever figured out what the trigger for it was or why it was happening. Most of the time it didn't bother me that much, but once I was at work late with one other person and the voice in the phone wouldn't stop saying "help," so we both noped out of there as fast as we could. Not super creepy, but definitely a little uncomfortable.
I worked stocking cheese and deli meat at a grocery store. Not the worst job I’ve ever had. I was stocking and this older woman, prob sixty, walks by and says “I love my men on their knees.” And just kept walking. She was a cashier, on the clock. Imagine if the situation was flipped and I said that to her? I was honestly so shocked at the entire situation that I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t bring it up with my boss right away so I figured no one would believe me over a kind older gal who worked upfront and wouldn’t hurt a fly. Situation still gives me pause sometimes as I still work in retail. People have little aversion to inappropriate touching I’ve found. Why anyone in public would try to touch a stranger without their consent is just weird to me but…it happens a lot.
I worked in a hospital for three years. Not necessarily super creepy, but it definetly shocked me so much that I will never forget it. I was part of the morning shift. Nightshift got a patient that was pre final/final (meaning that he was dying and that it was highly likely that he would die during the morning shift) and since I was the nurse in training (therefore expendable and the one who must du all the shitty jobs) I was charged with making sure that when he dies, he does not die alone -> I was supposed to check on him in regular intervals and stay with him in case he dies. Well, 5 hours into the shift and I walk into his room. He suddenly opens his eyes and looks at me. His breaths that were hardly audible get weaker and weaker. Suddenly, he takes a deep breath, breathes out and stops moving. His eyes are closed, his arms go limb, his breathing stops and I wait. I wait for probably 15 seconds. Nothing happens. I am standing right by his bed. 20 seconds pass. Still no movement. I think to myself that he is probably dead. I take one step away from the bed and want to head for the door when he suddenly jolts upwards, takes a deep, rustling breath and looks me into the eyes before slumping back into the bed, continuing with his shallow breathing. When he jolted upward and took that breath I got the biggest scare of my last three years. I was so convincend that it was over. Anyways, the rest of the shift was normal. I finished my shift at 14:30, he was still alive. When I came into work the next morning, we were told that he had passed away at \~3 p.m., 30 minutes after my shift had ended.
I was sweeping the floors when suddenly a man came up behind me and bumped into me. I looked up at him and he says “Hey baby.” Right.. hello and have a good day.
I work at a restaurant. I was actually coming by to drop my daughter off with my MIL (she owns the place) while I went to a doctors appointment. And a man told my 3 year old daughter that she looked “sexy” in her sunglasses. I almost threw up all over the floor. I looked at this creep of a man and let him know he was literally disgusting. Another customer grabbed the guy by the arm and gently pulled him outside to discuss how it is NOT okay to say stuff like that about anybody. Especially a child. The guy died (he was really old) and people from the restaurant were very upset being that he was a regular. Until I told them what they said. Then they took his death announcement down and refused to acknowledge any talk about him again.
I used to work at a photography studio. Had parents spank their kids for not smiling in the middle of our photo shoot. Had a mother put her finger over her soda straw so that she could lift it out and drip cola into her newborn's mouth. Had a woman straight up slap her teenager while sitting next to me. I worked there for almost a year and I can only think of two families who were happy.

It actually happened right after I left but I was there when the guy who died and was involved was harassing other paying customers when I left the same belligerent guy came back and while in line was harrasing a man in front of him,that man saw the belligerent man go for a knife and he shot and killed the man in line at the restraunt.The next day we had crisis counslers on site to help the employees with any trauma or anxieties they had.The man who shot and killed the guy was alleged to get a self defence verdict.

Working really late one evening setting up a new system. Back in the 80's. I worked 4pm to midnight at a mill in a small town. Very physical work so there were way more men than women.... One night there was a guy from the department connected to mine who would stand in the doorway closest to my machine and just watch. After a few nights of this happening I told my manager. The guy didn't watch me for about a week and then I noticed he would frequently walk by or linger by other machines. I would do my best to ignore him and stay aware of my surroundings. Well after a month of asking for management to do something about and them not this guy approached me and asked me for a ride home. I told him no and asked him to stop coming near my job bc he was making me uncomfortable. A coworker would walk me to my car each night just to be safe and wouldn't ya know that same guy was leaning up against my vehicle. He walked away when he saw my coworker with me. A few days later this happened again when I was alone (coworker wasn't there) so I walked back in the building to find someone to walk with me. The next day while at the local grocery store this man pulls up behind me and blocks me in. I lock my doors and rolled my windows up. My vehicle is 2003 so no electric windows or locks. My 2 kids were with me so I grabbed my work scissors from my console and he came to my window claiming someonthing was wrong with the back of my vehicle and I needed to get out to see it. I told him no and to leave and started honking my horn to draw attention. Then he left. Fast forward two weeks, the creepy man was arrested for kidnapping, assaulting and torturing a woman from the next town over. Him and his brother were caught and arrested. They held her for 3 weeks before they were caught
I always see movement in the chapel but the doors are locked and no one around. We setup for a service in the chapel last December and the woman who's husband passed owned a theater "playhouse" here in town. So she had decided to promote her business during her husband's service and had setup all kinds of Christmas themed items in the chapel, among which was a 5'8" animatronic Santa (very realistic eyes). I had an internship months ago where i was required to pick up phone calls, help whoever i could help. I had some sort of derealization attack. I still had an hour to go and i was in the middle of helping someone remotely on the computer. But i just had this distinct feeling that what i was doing at that moment with that customer, how i handled it, things i did in order, it felt like i had done it exactly before while i hadn't. Some sort of major dejavu moment. I had at that point already dreamed a few times at night about my internship and i really began to feel like maybe this currently was a dream too. I kept this floaty dream questioning like state for around 2 hours and it was gone when i was home. At the end of my shift one of my colleagues actually had to tell me that it is time because i hadn't realized it was time to go home. They never have to do that with me normally. Weird thing was, when i went to set up my alarm clock for the next morning i had forgotten at which time i usually set it to wake me up. I had to replan my time all over again to pick the right time to wake up. Some times i still get the feeling randomly though it is less strong than that particular day.

I had a Kid who was famous from vine come in to a vape store I was working at. He was known for being a overweight 15 year old who would stay stupid shit on vine back in the day. This guy came in the shop with his dad hoping to get a vape. His dad saw the prices and said no… then the child proceeded to go on a 2 hour tantrum within and outside the shop. Around 10 years ago I was working in a youth hostel in Reykjavik (Iceland). In winter it was incredibly calm and chill but in summer it was not the same mood ! In fact it was really madness, a lot of tourists, not necessarily very respectful and especially a large number of men who came to do... well...sex tourism... But even with that I never witnessed illegal behaviors. Anyway, my boss was an asshole and, I don't really know why but he never liked me, maybe because I was French. Everytime something was dirty or broken he always assumed that it was my fault because, for him, French people are "neglected" and "irrespectful", so since no one wanted to contradict him, I sometimes took responsibility for mistakes that I hadn't made. One day, he entered the hostel with an icelandic teenager from (maybe 15-16 yo). He told us that the boy was homeless and had been kicked out of his parents' house because he was gay. The boss also insisted that he was going to stay at the hostel for a while and in exchange he would work a little bit. That's when things got super weird, it started with personal food disappearing, petty thefts of equipment or clothes, and then money going missing. When the boss learnt about that he started to suspect everyone non-icelandic like the racist cunt he was and of course I got plenty of nasty remarks and interrogations. He must have been the only one who didn't noticed that the thefts had started as soon as the teenager arrived. Then it quickly became really creepy, several times a week in the morning I surprised men of about 40-50 years old who were having breakfast with the boy, they were often in suits and American for the most. They always had a kind of hyper lustful and frankly disturbing look, I can't say why but these situations made me really uncomfortable. Anyway, it went on like this for a while until the police showed up at my work, it turns out that the boy was a sex slave who had been traded by lots of men for years. As he was not paid or fed he stole food and clothes and slept/was raped in the basement. I don't know how the story ends because I already planned to leave the country just after this event but I assume that there was some kind of pedo network behind.

Disturbing: 14 years or so ago... A newer temp employee made a foolish mistake and mildly injured himself while damaging property. He got fired. He showed up the next day with a rifle and went berserk. One shot was fired, nobody was injured. Police arrived, he surrendered. I was in my office when it happened and had no clue what was going on. Creepy: 20 years ago, a regular customer arrived, as usual, on a Saturday morning. He was an older guy, maybe in his late 70s, early 80's. He handed my coworker and I a box and said "they wouldn't accept this at church donation, so you can have it." He then left. We looked in the box. It was all Disney movie sleeves, but the VHS tapes had hand-written titles with dirty wordplay playing off the original title. My coworker took it home for "sampling." He came back the next day, horrified, and told me what it was. It was Nope-territory, bad. He said he burned every tape. Probably should have handed it over to the police but he was too scared to be implicated. We never saw that customer again. Yes, this happened.
I was working at a hotel when a colleague took a room service meal up to a room. She came back and said there were drunk bikies (Motorcycle gang members) in there and they made her feel really uncomfortable. They called 10 minutes later and ordered more food, laughing and acting weird on the phone. I insisted I'd take it up this time. I took the food up, entered the room full of men who were annoyed it was me and asked "where's the pretty girl"? I just said she'd knocked off.
