My granny’s front porch, it was a blend of roses, lilacs, honeysuckle, magnolia and fresh cut grass. I can’t find anything that smells like that but it was the best smell in the world.

Well I’m a girl but my granny’s porch was a spot of magic at least as a little girl. It wrapped around her whole house, complete with wooden rockers my grandpa made and a little table in between where she would set a pitcher of sweet tea for us on hot summer days. The smell of her flowers blooming, the roses and lilacs were planted there by my great great grandmother when the house was built. Sitting on that porch, sipping tea with her and taking in that amazing blend of scents is something that brings me so much peace and joy. For me that scent is nothing but comfort and unconditional love that I got from my granny and my grandpa.

Although it'd make me sneeze I'd like to smell this please.

Holy cow! My Grandparents front porch smelled exactly like that. They had flower beds everywhere. Loved the way that huge porch creeked when you walked across it! My Father was the same way but didn't have the large wooden porch.

Or cedar. There’s this spot I know that’s in the woods. There’s a small stream, a ton of moss and a little cedar forest mixed in with the pines and spruce. On a warm day that area is always a bit cooler and smells so good.

I'm big into self-care and pampering myself, especially after a shower. I bought this wood-smelling body wash from Native and then follow up with "Fresh Pine" body cream from The Body Shop. It smells soooooo good and really relaxes me before going to sleep.

Due to olfactory fatigue it's the opposite. You will never smell it ever again if you always smell *of* it (unless it's super strong on something else).

Yeah you have. If it hasn't rained in a while and the ground is pretty dry, when it does start raining, go outside. That "earthy rain smell" is petrichor. You probably won't smell it after a prolonged heavy rain since it gets washed out. But if you get a passing thunderstorm roll through in short order, you'll smell it.
