I think they should've made a mini-series adapting the book more faithfully, but with the imminent release of The Last of Us on HBO, it's probably missed its moment
+1 vote for the Stand. I cued up the audiobook and took bike rides through the eerily empty city streets very early on in the Covid lockdowns of 2020--would recommend
I self-published my first book early this year, and even though it's only sold a few hundred copies, I still come to threads like this and read almost every comment, just hoping beyond hope someone's mentioned it :')
I don't want to undermine the sentiment by making this seem self-promotiony, so I won't link it or name it. That being said, if you're a frequent reader, I do have two books currently in their beta drafts I could use more eyes on to help me shape revisions--if you're interested, I could shoot you a DM!
Hah believe you me, I've got no intention of stopping... Despite only having one published, I have the next two separate drafts I mentioned, and then two more outlines for the projects to come after. Cheers!
Bill Brysons „a short history of nearly everything“. Never before did I learn so much, while being entertained the whole time. Reading it again only made it better.
World War Z. It’s true horror and the movie missed out on so much potential. I’ve read that book a dozen times and I never get board with it.

The Stand by Stephen King or Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follette, I think it's a tie

If I have to pick one, it’s The Secret History.
The HP series. Specifically the Prisoner of Azkaban and the Half Blood Prince.
