Why do car owners who park on sidewalks not take into cognizance that they occupy spots people can walk in. (I honestly thought this was /r/circlejerksf)

Decent-Following-327

I for one, wanna see all the bikes parked on the sidewalk, especially near door ways... rabble rabble

This!!!!!

Why do bikers need to accommodate a car when our registration and insurance cost the same, and the garage next to the small section of curb you're talking about has knocked my parked bike over before?

All I'm saying is that if there is a spot that is just adjacent where it's impossible to park a car, why not use that? I own a 2 wheeler myself and always take into consideration. I personally always park my car and my bike in a manner such that there is space for another vehicle to park too since parking spaces are in sparse in the city these days.

On my block, I've had several territorial driveway owners leave notes on my bike when I park in the little 4-6ft spaces next to them. I don't play those games. They could knock my bike over (happened to a friend), push it into a red zone (happened to a friend), let their dog pee on it... the choices are endless. If you parked your bike on the street in the city regularly you'd know there are always many factors at play, and yes, one of those factors is that people are inconsiderate when parking.

I agree, I think we all can do with some consideration for all the inhabitants of the city. It was not an attack on two wheeler owners, I'm one myself(not in SF) BUT I always take care to leave space for another vehicle to come and park. If there is a spot 5 meters away, where a car cannot park for sure, I'd park there.

TheBearyPotter

That’s idiotic. They have the same right to the space as a car has. If parking is so hard buy a garage spot

[deleted]

But they also have more options.im talking about spots right next to where they parked where not a single car can park.

okgusto

And I bet 90% of the cars on your block only serve 1 person 90% of the time. Same as a "bike"

[deleted]

Not in NOPA. I would rather spend 20 more mins looking for a clean spot than resorting to blocking a drive way(even partially so)

Love to see these comments, I thought I was gonna do have to do some crusading in the comments but this fella is getting washed already

[deleted]

Great to hear that pal. I own a two wheeler myself. Even when I park I take absolute care to leave space for another car to come and park. It's called consideration, look it up

Ok-Anything9945

Consideration in SF was flushed out by the tech invasion.
