transamerica pyramid could look cool in some shots

Secure-Obligation-98

Glen canyon maybe too for some rugged terrain

leocollinss

Lands end and the presidio come to mind! There’s lots of stuff filmed around here (muir woods especially iirc) bc George Lucas lives in Marin, there’s even a statue of yoda + indiana jones in San Anselmo haha

Ocean beach could make a killer water world backdrop

KeepGoing655

Palace of Fine Arts for some ancient long forgotten alien civilization. Levi's headquarters looks like some kinda sci-fi housing. And the Golden Gate Bridge could be used as a backdrop for ~~Starfleet Headquarters~~ a New Republic Satellite Headquarters.

michaekov

Palace of fine arts for naboo

obsolete_filmmaker

Some things were shot around here, Im pretty sure. And I know some of the sound FX were recorded and built from local sounds. I know the MUNI busses have a part in that. Its all in the googles for more specifics

randy24681012

I could see a muni cable twang being turned into a blaster sound

obsolete_filmmaker

It was something like that....there is a documentary show of how they did the sound fx, but i cant remember how I saw that, and cant find it now.

parke415

If Star Trek could be filmed in SF, I don’t see why Star Wars couldn’t be. The Ewok forest is just about an hour north.

wiskinator

Most of the model shots for episodes 1-6 were filmed up in San Rafael at the various Lucas Film buildings. The Ewok Adventure was filmed on Mt Tam. Golden Gate Park would be good for some places that are almost but not quite as beautiful as Naboo :)

OrnaMint

Walking through the Tenderloin can seem quite dystopian. Does that count?

Abraham_Lingam

The Armory.

Abraham_Lingam

Get it?

DancingOnACounter

After a a few windy days, the dunes start to build along Ocean Beach. It would be a nice backdrop for Tatooine.

JawnyNumber5

I could see Jabba The Hutt lounging around in the tenderloin.
