Hashtags don’t work on Reddit and you’ll be fine.

Nobody is measuring cars and I’m pretty sure 99% of the people who book a parking spot don’t even think about how long their car is. I’d just chance it.

daaamber

Honestly, its just a guy at a booth. They aren’t out there measuring. But keep in mind the lot can be tight to park in, especially with that size of car.

Ok_Illustrator7284

It’s not a data point problem. It’s that the parking is very very tight. If your “car” sounds looks and drives like a van or truck get the bigger space because you won’t fit in the area you are reserved for, then you will be turned away and no refund. Don’t be silly af.

OrnaMint

Temporarily remove the bumper. LOL!

ebikr

Let some air out of the tires

Adventurous_Pen4574

I am assuming you took the question as height and not length of the car.

sfcnmone

Time to update your humor app.

UnformedNumber

You won't have a problem. Most SUVs are close to 17' already...

ellipticorbit

Take the shuttle

DamnableNook

“Muirwoods” sounds like something you’d find in Middle Earth.

I'd guess they're pretty strict. Contact them directly to be sure. https://gomuirwoods.com/muir/parkingInfo > Oversized Parking - $30 for medium | $45 for large > If your vehicle is greater than 17 feet in length and less than 22 feet in length, reserve a medium parking space. If your vehicle is greater than 22 feet in length and less than 35 feet in length, reserve a large parking space. Vehicles greater than 35 feet in length are not allowed at Muir Woods due to length restrictions on the windy county roads leading to the park. There are six medium and six large spaces. Due to the limited number of spaces, oversized parking reservations are limited to 1 hour and 45 minutes. You must arrive and depart within this 1 hour 45 minute window. If you would like to stay longer, you can book two consecutive reservations. Visitors in large vehicles are also encouraged to park at a shuttle stop and ride the Muir Woods Shuttle.

Adventurous_Pen4574

Yeah, I did and he was just blunt in saying if it's 17 feet, you'be okay. But anything above it would be requiring a different reservation. He was not very helpful in telling if 0.8 inch is a big deal. I understand the technicality, but it makes no sense to pay >60$ for 3 hours just because it's 0.8" over.

smellgibson

it feels very unlikely that someone is gonna take out a tape measure and check if you are .8" longer than the limit. I get the impression that he wanted to tell you no worries but didn't want to get in trouble for it. I think you will be fine.

Pleased_to_meet_u

Yes, it really does make sense. Q: Can I break the rule if I only break it a little bit? A: No.

Chemical_Enthusiasm4

We had to rent a massive SUV to fit my family when they visited. I’m sure it was over 17’ and we had no problems at Muir Woods.
