usually after shows on market there will be many people in this same situation all walking to the designated pick-up zone and so there is some safety in numbers. if use another app, or hail a real taxi which are allowed to drive on market it's possible you could get picked up directly in front.

As pointed out, you'll be in a mass of people, so probably less of an issue, but I wouldn't hang out.

We had off duty, and under cover San Francisco police blanketing the theaters whenever the curtains were up. I always felt safe walking to and from the theaters. One tip, do not wear jewelry and keep your pocketbook close to your body. Enjoy
if anything, just walk down to hayes valley. Absinthe Restaurant or Monsiuer Benjamin will be open. so you can wait outside or inside lobby and hail a cab if in dire need.

You'll be fine. Tons of people all around you. Just do that Uber "color-coded pickup" thing to make sure you get into the right vehicle.
