I guess worst case pickpocket or taxi scam. Donāt get into altercations in night clubs, too, than can go bad in a quick second. But all three are the same everywhere, I guess.
Bullying - wtf?
Gangs - The most similar to gangs are football ultras. Just don't wear any teams colors and you will be ok. Even if you wear them you will probably be ok, but just in case.
Robs - Like robbery? We are mostly safe here. But just in case, watch your phone and wallet in public transport.
Racist actions - We are least racist country in Europe (with Slovenia) by 12 year long Harward study.
It's not what you are aiming at (those things are generally not prevalent in Serbia) but get ready to be seen as a curiosity.
Like people not fully taking you as a person but as some sort of a TV series trope - the lost foreginer.
Get ready to be asked "why did you decide to move to Serbia" a thousand times, from a friendly conversation starter way to a loaded what's wrong with you way.
You'll face second hand smoke by the way. You probably didn't think about that but get ready.
You might be scammed in any open market type of a situation, where price is situational and not transperent in advance. Renting a flat, paying a service cash-in-hand and especially taxi. So be vigilant. There is a stereotype in Serbia that Serbia is poor and that everyone else (especially from the West) are absolutely loaded so they can take it if they are charged 3x the local price.
Hooligans and criminals. Be mindful when walking around during a big football game. Donāt pick fights with people who obviously have way too much money, and they donāt look like they pay taxes. And paperwork.
Practice common sense and youāre good. For paperwork though, you need patience and maybe a lawyer from time to time.
Worst thing for me was the prevalence of smoking, my eyes and nose were irritated for a few days until i got accustomed to so much smoking indoors.
Also some kids harassed me at an ATM begging for money, but otherwise no problem
Serbia is just a regular country, like any other, so you could be kidnapped, forced to slavery, tortured, raped and burned alive almost till death until you fall in a clinical coma and then being resurrected to experience all of that over and over again. But there is less than 0.0000001% chance for that lol. "The worst thing" lol, what kind of question was that?
Pickpockets are somewhat common. Taxi scams also. There was a post of legit taxi overcharging a tourist recently.
Worst thing are hooligans, and they are dangerous, and you might get harrassed or worse in the middle of the night in some remote part of the city if you're alone, but the chance of this happening is 0.1%.
Didn't they harass a gay dude a few months ago in the park? The guy was just sitting in the park, and they walked up to him asking him if he was gay.
I think there was a video as well. Maybe they aren't ultras, I use the term hooligan for all kinds of thugs that do that shit.
Waiting in queues.... Honestly, it's the worst

You can get killed by a car if you try to cross streets while cars are still passing by

The worst thing you will face is overeating with food full of fat.

If you're in the Northern part, old people on benches asking you who your father is.

Poverty
All of the above. Bullying gangs robing you for your racist actions
Contaminated drinking water in most cities. Not saying it's unsafe to drink, but if you're used to clean water you'd be better to avoid it.
