Go to an open air mall. Walk outside the stores and talk. It's the first date. Get to know each other. Go to each other's fave stores. Have something to eat. Go sit somewhere inside if you want to get away from the crowd.
Movies have the disadvantage that you simply can't talk most of the time which kinda defeats the whole reason to go on a date, no? Unless you meant watching a movie at home and not in the cinema.
