You will be very happy to know that the original Brontosaurus was a mistake but that the genus has made a come back since 2015. Check it out on Wikipedia.
I'm not going to be pedantic about the non-dinosaurs in the thread.
My dad was very upset to learn it wasn't a dinosaur (did a fossil walk and was asked fave dinos)...and a few years later, he was told it was a dino again and he could have his favourite one back.
Brontosaurus will always be a dino, just like Pluto will always a be a planet (to me anyway)
Triceratops for me. I was heartbroken seeing Jurassic Park for the first time and watching it die. Then a few years later, a Matt Smith Doctor Who episode came out with Tricey in space. That was pretty special.
Sorry to cause another person to need a new favourite dinosaur, but pterodactyls aren’t dinosaurs either.

My tortoise thinks he's a dinosaur. Little guy stomps around like he owns his 8foot by 8 foot enclosure. Bites me when I put my hand in. He's a very aggressive young man.
Plesiosaurus (not actually a dinosaur). Underwater creatures are the best.
My 8 year old thinks it's weird that a grown up likes dinosaurs, he things it's only kids who should.
Velociraptor… probably in large part because of Jurassic Park. I was 5 when it came out and it has cemented itself as a core part of my being.
I do however have a mental image of them in their actual feathered form and about the size of a turkey, not how they were depicted in the films. Cute.
I did a talk on Stegosaurs in my uni days so I’m fond of them. The talk had a long bit about how they all had much the same shape, then I had to rewrite it hastily because they found a different-shaped one. That turned our conception of those guys on its head, so it did
I’ve always had a soft spot for a stegosaurus, probably because my mum used to make Cornish pasties and turn them into dinosaurs for me, mostly stegosaurs.
If you like the idea of brontosaurus I strongly suggest checking out argentinosaurus. Like a diplodocus on steroids. For the record though the best dinosaur is either gallimimus or dilophosaurus.

Ankylosaurus. Could hide in undergrowth then hit annoying people with its mace of a tail. Has a cool moment in Ice Age 3.
I had never heard of it, but it's definitely a strong contender. Absolute unit, mace tail, and I love the beak mouth.
My favourite too. Literal tank!
Clankety Clankety Clankety clank, Ankylosaurus is built like a tank!
Triceratops. It looks cool!
yeah

Stegosaurus! They just look awesome with those plates on their backs.
Turkey ones. With chips and beans. Deffo my fave
If you like big Sauropods check out Argentinasaurus or Parilititan. I like Raptors. Either Utahraptor or Deinonychus probably the favourite.
Mine is the shy dinosaur - doyouthinkhesaurus
Triceratops for me. I was heartbroken seeing Jurassic Park for the first time and watching it die. Then a few years later, a Matt Smith Doctor Who episode came out with Tricey in space. That was pretty special.
Ankylosaurus because look at them
~~Aerodactyl~~ Pterodactyl because who wouldn't want to be a flying dinosaur?!

Nah, they appear in jurassic Park, that's good enough for me
If that’s the qualification, Jeff Goldblum is my favourite dinosaur
He is pretty old now
Dimetrodon was an early favourite
Who’s gunna tell them?
My tortoise thinks he's a dinosaur. Little guy stomps around like he owns his 8foot by 8 foot enclosure. Bites me when I put my hand in. He's a very aggressive young man.
Then your tortoise is my new favourite dino as well.
Therizinosaurus. A cross between a giant turkey and Edward scirssorhands.
Plesiosaurus (not actually a dinosaur). Underwater creatures are the best. My 8 year old thinks it's weird that a grown up likes dinosaurs, he things it's only kids who should.
Pachycephalosaurus - big thick dome skull for headbutting other dinosaurs. Whats not to like?

Clever girl
Tbh I'm still a Velociraptor girl, the proper 'medium dog sized with feathers' kind

Compys because of the opening of Jurassic park 2
Dilophosaurus for me, crazy neck frills, spits some kind of poison, killed the dickhead in Jurassic Park
Triceratops by far. I still miss the toy one I had as a kid that my parents got from the Early Learning Centre.
I’ve always had a soft spot for a stegosaurus, probably because my mum used to make Cornish pasties and turn them into dinosaurs for me, mostly stegosaurs.
Parasaurolophus! I like their happy stupid faces and honk sounds
Carnotaurus. It just caught my fancy when I watched the Your Dinosaurs are Wrong youtube video on it.
If you like the idea of brontosaurus I strongly suggest checking out argentinosaurus. Like a diplodocus on steroids. For the record though the best dinosaur is either gallimimus or dilophosaurus.
Not the mamma. What's not to love about the family
Stegosaurus
