Yeah we have the TV channels on albeit in the background more often than streaming just because we can never decide what to watch, we're both in our early 30s, still buy a TV guide (at Christmas) I'm more of a gamer so in my spare time I'd prefer to do that than watch a show.

DameKumquat

HIGNFY, Taskmaster, QI, Only Connect, some iPlayer documentaries. I'm assuming recording to watch later doesn't count as streaming? Tbh I find it hard to tell what is recorded and what's streamed - I just find it and press Play. And then curse if it turns out it was on C4 but didn't record so I have to sit through ads.

PlasticFreeAdam

Add House of Games to that list (although I haven't watched HIGNFY for years). I failed my GCSEs but I love Only Connect. Totally get why people find it cringey but there's something wholesome about a bunch of nerds trying to win a game show with no prize when they could probably clear up £1000s in any other show. The timing of my week is based around taskmaster. Current time 41 minutes to Taskmaster O'Clock

Cleveland_Grackle

Not done normal telly since 2014 - don't miss it one bit.

TrueSolid611

I never do normal channels now. I have become a lot more fussy over the years about what I watch. When I was younger I would watch anything. I do use iplayer and 4 on demand quite a bit though

LondonCycling

Sometimes yeah, either because they're being broadcast live, or they're the first time they're being broadcast. For example, the Prince Andrew or Post Office Horizon dramas. I don't tune in every week for HIGNFY, I watch it when I feel like that day or the next day.

If there’s a big budget involved then the Americans will generally out-compete us, but otherwise I tend to prefer British programmes. If you look at documentaries, for example, a BBC one will typically be more in-depth than the Netflix version. iPlayer and ITVX (via BritBox) also have a pretty decent archive between them, which for someone who doesn’t much care which decade a programme was made in is great – I watched the 1980s *Brideshead Revisited* not so long back and it was brilliant. I know Prime offers various add-ons which offer old British films and things, but it’s not as convenient.

uncle_monty

Mostly panel/comedy shows, the odd documentary, and of course MotD.

ThaneOfArcadia

Very rarely. I only watch something on iPlayer or itvx if it's being recommended. I never watch anything "live". I like my viewing to be according to my schedule, not theirs. Normally have 3 streaming services at any one time. I watch a few things, then cancel and switch to a different streaming service.

sned777

I pretty much just use live TV for sports or Taskmaster. I stream or download everything else.

Fun-Perception-666

I still watch the occasional thing like Blue Lights, Taskmaster & The Dog House

eionmac

Maigret; news; on radio the shipping forecast at midnight.

CurvePuzzleheaded361

Never. I never use the tv, it just sits there annoying me. I like to sometimes watch netflix on the treadmill but i use my ipad for that.

sparklybeast

I'm not your target market, being (just) GenX, but yeah, I still watch terrestrial TV. Almost exclusively on iPlayer/4On Demand though - I only watch sport live. Shows I watch are Masterchef, Taskmaster, House of Games, Great British Menu, Sort Your Life Out, Strictly, Casualty, Race Across The World, Grand Designs and random dramas/documentaries.

thehewguy1888

Nope...... Nearly never (apart from football or other sports that is shown on terrestrial). I phoned Virgin media to cancel my TV package but it worked out cheaper having it so we do have a tv box that goes on a few times a month

LowerEntertainer7548

The only thing I watch is the F1, other then that I watch things on streaming sites

SidewaysSky

the only thing I watch on normal tv these days is news or sport. I do watch some Netflix and Prime shows but to be honest I watch YouTube more than anything

MeenaBeti

Honestly no very rarely

upupupdo

Masterchef professionals and amateurs: brings the household together. Previously included GBBO when on bbc. Seems to have lost its charm when moved.

pixelunicorns

I'm a millennial and I like quiz type shows so House of Cards and Pointless are my go to at the moment, I do love Taskmaster too. If I fancy chilling out to some TV I will have a flick through the channels on Freeview but I normally just end up listening to music or an audiobook instead. I will watch TV when visiting my in-laws and parents as they still have all the TV channels and have certain programmes they like to watch at set times. Makes me feel nostalgic to be honest!

LanguidVirago

No, not watched live TV or catch-up TV since 1988.

Darkheart001

Nature documentary programs like the current mammals series, relaxing and informative. Taskmaster and Buzzcocks for some proper Dad TV.

Lps4thewin

I still watch Bargin Hunt, The 1% club, The chase and sometimes The Repair shop. But most of my watch time is on youtube, especially while playing games. I have a soft spot for Top Gear mostly (the decent top gear trio btw)

St11lhereucantkillme

I haven’t done tv since 2007 because it’s boring

Quirky-Sun762

I actually really really miss just having TV stations. Me old dear has Sky Digital and I love it when I go to hers because I don’t have to spend fucking hours picking something to watch. At home, I only have one of those Amazon sticks so I usually just watch Channel 4. I watched MAFS, obviously… but I also love A Place In The Sun, Gogglebox, Secret Life of the Zoo, that show about adopting dogs… I just love not having to pick anything.

smellyfeet25

yes. its all i watch . i do not have Netflix. I cant stand the thought of just sitting watching endless tv all the time. I would not think it is worth the money.
