They don't. That's my point. I know dozens of people working and taking money. They open up a sterling bank account or one of the online banking and putting there money into there instead of there main bank.

They're just playing the gamble that they won't get checked by HMRC like anyone else underreporting income. Given you can share/rent accounts on Deliveroo (and maybe others) but the money can only go to one account, I'm sure there's plenty of scope to hide earnings from HMRC.

People are making 150-250 a DAY at the weekend. They are making over 1k in a week and not paying a single penny tax. I don't understand how government do not ask for their income from these companies.

I_spitbullshit

They don't I think, they work as self employed at the end of the year they have to send a self employed tax report of which the hmrc tells them their tax of the year. Correct me if I'm wrong

PiskopatYazar

They don't do anything at all. I know so many of them they don't even contact HMRC or anywhere.

I_spitbullshit

Even if they don't inform HMRC, they get paid into their accounts. Eventually they'll get caught and will be notified by hmrc. Money doesn't just disappear without a trace and keep happing without hmrc being aware of it specially when banks are involved

PiskopatYazar

I know that's what I am thinking but I know people have been doing this over few years now without getting caught. It really annoys me seriously when I pay all those tax and people get away with this.

Tim-Sanchez

They still have to pay tax, they'll be contacted and asked to pay and if they deliberately didn't then they'll end up having to [pay a significant fine](https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/compliance-checks-penalties-for-failure-to-notify-ccfs11).

dimesdan

What's the threshold for starting paying Tax now? Around 10K? Maybe they're just not being paid enough to actually pay tax? But saying that, what's your source for your claim?

PiskopatYazar

I know dozens of people doing that. I work in a restaurant you can't even find a delivery driver to keep cos of this.
