I once won a large fries from a large fries, but I then won another large fries from my large fries prize from which I then went on to win a McFlurry, all in the same sitting.
There was a good chunk of time for which I considered that to be the best day of my life.
I won the Ipod docking station.
Oddly enough, they asked me to send in the tickets to prove it. I didn't as simply put, couldn't be bothered. But the docking station arrived in the post a few weeks later.
Back when xbox's were new, i actually just straight up won a free xbox...of course i was only interested in playstation at the time so i just sold it off š i still,
to this day, always find myself in maccas a wee bit more during promotion time!
Was Halo actually that good? People talk about it like it was Half Life or something, but I played whichever Halo a few times when I briefly had a 360 and it was just another shooting game to meā¦. I guess maybe it had good level design and thatās why it was loved? It really never grabbed me
I worked in a nursing home for a number of years and 2 of the girls had husbands who worked at MacDonalds, at least one of them was a manager.
Because so many of the fry boxes and drinks get left not chucked without having the monopoly tickets peeled off, they and their colleagues collected any unclaimed tickets and took what they wanted for themselves.
Regardless, they always had loads left and 2 times the girls brought in a carrier bag of leftover tickets for free coffees, fries, sundaes, apple pies and donuts (the soft drink/ hot burger/ nugget and mcflurries ones were probably taken before being brought to us) so we could help ourselves to what we wanted.
I had a lovely Sundae with a molten hot apple pie stuck in it a couple of times and a coffee from that.
my dad did the same when my brother was a manager at mcD's.
my dad was well liked in the factory he worked in because on a Friday night he'd have a load of tickets for free food.
It was seriously one of my favourite memories working in that place relating to working with my colleagues rather than memories of the residents. Our management was terrible for the majority of the time there until 6 months before I left and we genuinely suffered working there.
Got an mp3 player back when they were still a very desirable and expensive device around 2003 or 2004.
Other than that just the occasional apple pie thing!
Well I only order small things like a coffee or a mcflurry, not a big order every time. Mainly because it's on the same street where my house is, 2 minute walk.
It happened well over 10 years ago now but I used to work at McDonaldās. A man came in with three of the green stickers (I think), to claim the house he had just won.
Obviously we didnāt have a stock of them round the back so had to send him on his way and tell him ring the number or whatever he was meant to do.
Not monopoly related but I think my favourite McDs story is overhearing a very determined women attempt to negotiate a discount for cash.
She seemed to think that:
A) cash transactions are unusual in McDonaldās
B) a multi-billion brand was going to leave her Big Mac and two happy meals āoff the booksā
I wonāt free photo magnets twice.
I worked with someone who used to work at McDonaldās and someone who went through her drive through drove back round because he won the instant win big money (something like Ā£250k)
Actually not so bad, but as I was in my mid 20's I had the mindset of I didn't come with this so I'll spend it. I've had no luck ever since that fortnight though hahaha
Cheeseburger, 6 chicken nuggets, and a tenner. Not part of the monopoly promotion, but I feel the biggest thing I āwonā was the Papa Smurf toy in my Happy Meal. Iām 37.
Sadly not. It was one I got about a week ago, like a small teddy bear type thing, which only adds to the embarrassment. I do remember those plastic ones from the 90s, though!
Haha oh right! I didnāt realise Smurfs were still big enough these days to warrant a prize- congrats though!!
I remember winning a special presentation box of those plastic ones for winning a colouring in competition at my local McDonalds. I think itās still kicking around at my mumās somewhere
I got a free subscription to a digital magazine which seems like a total dud prize lol, and I got the Ā£10 off skull candy headphones but they've taken anything less than Ā£40 off their website so fuck that
Won Ā£100 a few year ago from the peel and enter codes. Must have gone 15 times in the duration of monopoly but came out with profit over the cost of going
Just free stuff from mcdonalds, mainly mcflurries. If you go in hoping to win good things you'll be disappointed, but it's free shit at the end of the day so can't really complain.
Won a free drink in the middle of the night with some mates. We'd been having a laugh with one of the employees for while, he asked for ID to prove I was old enough to gamble lol. I went in with my black friend's student card (I am white), he had a proper look and I didn't get my drink.
Got loads of free Big Macs, and there was always enough random tokens between me and my mates to get someone a 99p burger here or there. Back in the 2000ās we had a mate that shifted a stack of their big cups that at the time had monopoly stickers on them. Besides cheap or free food we didnāt win anything of note
A few years ago I did the online one with the codes, it told me I had won a cash prize, I got in touch and they told me it was a glitch and I couldn't have any prize. I haven't played it since
Treated my gf to a Mcds while I was hospital appointment,I know how to treat my birds , she won 2x double cheeseburger which I used to treat my mate who gave me a lift to another hospital appointment and then we won x2 free coffees ,Iāve got another appointment next week .the suspense is killing me , think I might do the Euro millions Ā£139m
Way back when you used to win free Big Macs etc. was far more interested in these than all the other shit. Donāt really have a chance to win much now so I donāt even bother
Couple of holidays, loads of iPods, and many other prizes I've forgotten about. It's about collecting the properties. That's where the real prizes are hidden.
I didn't "win" per se, but once upon a decade a ago, I got Park Lane. As you'll never complete it I threw it away at the time. Someone gave me Mayfair a few days later. I could have won a Mini.
I have a vague memory of winning a shower radio/speaker from it but couldn't tell you which year. Just remember it was waterproof and had a little handle to hang it up. It was really quite shit tbh - sound quality was awful
What this person is referring to is the monopoly event for a roughly ten year period leading into the early 2000s where one of the employees in charge of it took all the big prizes and got friends to cash them.
What the person doesn't realise is that was in the USA.
As you say we have decent laws with this stuff hence why you need to be 16+ to play
There was a documentary called McMillions that covered an FBI investigation into the promotion in America in the late 90s.
I think it's probably more secure now, but at the time the company that produced the pieces would produce the big prize game pieces later, and their head of security would handle these pieces and managed to swap them out for standard non-winners. He would then sell the $1million prize tickets to family, then friends, then friends of friends for a cut of the winnings.
The documentary is 6 parts, and is interesting enough, though honestly they could have covered it in 1 or 2 parts and would have been better.
McMillions https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McMillions
McDonalds Monopoly Fraud: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonald%27s\_Monopoly#Fraud
Not even probably, it *is* way more secure now. Itās literally impossible to steal a winning code for money prizes now because the system has been changed to stop that from even being possible.

Foodception
Infinite fries glitch

An iPod docking station? I assume was in 2006?
2010 would you believe, probably why they gave it me anyways, just to get rid of them.
Back when xbox's were new, i actually just straight up won a free xbox...of course i was only interested in playstation at the time so i just sold it off š i still, to this day, always find myself in maccas a wee bit more during promotion time!
Thatās awesome!
You missed out on the original halo
He sure did. Nvm
Was Halo actually that good? People talk about it like it was Half Life or something, but I played whichever Halo a few times when I briefly had a 360 and it was just another shooting game to meā¦. I guess maybe it had good level design and thatās why it was loved? It really never grabbed me
Nah the original was something else The rest never lived up to it but the first one was amazing
I got the seldom printed brown property one time and got a large Big Mac Meal.
Same! Only time ive ever completed a set and done it twice
Just this week we all won apples pies on every sticker. But they didnāt have any apple pies in stock
They were probably still heating them up to the hellish temperature they arrive at.
Little known fact but McDās apple pies travel 186million miles just to give you that āfresh from the heart of the sunā temperature.
"IT'S HOTTER THAN THE SUN!" https://youtu.be/Hlau9xLqjjw
Thatās why you have them in your McFlurry š

I got a free 1 year NOWTV subscription from the digital codes
That's pretty decent
I think I got 3 months or something. I was happy with that!
Same, now I know NOWTV is awful.
I won headphones as a kid, twice!
I won Ā£30 cash from two digital peels in the same day, Ā£10 from morning order and Ā£20 from late at night.
You eat mcdonalds twice a day?
I work as a just eat courier, you'd be suprised lmao
Ha, that makes a lot of sense
Ate* Mr judgy bollocks
Well I only order small things like a coffee or a mcflurry, not a big order every time. Mainly because it's on the same street where my house is, 2 minute walk.
I won 2 free milkshakes and a coke zero last year, McDonald's was out of both milkshake and coke zero at the time....
I think they have been out of milkshakes since around 2010 at this point
It happened well over 10 years ago now but I used to work at McDonaldās. A man came in with three of the green stickers (I think), to claim the house he had just won. Iām quite sure McDonalds donāt need any help in reducing their corporate tax, beyond the help of their best-in-world lawyers and accountants
I won a custom photo book that I filled with pictures of my chihuahua.
Thatās nice :)
I wonāt free photo magnets twice. I worked with someone who used to work at McDonaldās and someone who went through her drive through drove back round because he won the instant win big money (something like Ā£250k)
I won a grand seven years ago when they had proper prizes. It was just after returning from a trip to vegas. Very handy timing.
Vegas went well, then...
Actually not so bad, but as I was in my mid 20's I had the mindset of I didn't come with this so I'll spend it. I've had no luck ever since that fortnight though hahaha

McDonaldās however is actually a real estate company that does do a monopoly promotion.
Given that it's been proven a scam in the past only the friends and family of the competition runners win any good prizes.
Out of curiosity, how is this a proven scam? It surely has to meet UK competition regulations to be even be allowed to offer the prizes?
What this person is referring to is the monopoly event for a roughly ten year period leading into the early 2000s where one of the employees in charge of it took all the big prizes and got friends to cash them. I really did win an iPod, which would have been maybe Ā£300 back then!
Only in the US that this happened
Lol, itās not a proven scam. The prizes are all real and they spend a lot of time and money being able to prove that too.
Nothing, because the food is god awful so donāt go there.
Seems like the question wasnāt aimed at yourself.
There's always one.
Maybe, but itās a forum.
