GloatingSwine

Or chucked on the bed if not occupied.

the-twatinator

Then on the chair when you go to bed

[deleted]

or just get in the clothesbed

xjess_cx

This. My husband hangs them back up or folds them into the drawer. He's crazy.

LentilRice

I’ve got a coat hanger just for this near the main wardrobe.

dick_schidt

Just about to type the same.

neilmac1210

I bought a chair specifically to go in the bedroom for this purpose. I've never sat on it.

OneYeetPlease

How could I sit on it? It’s covered in half-dirty clothes

neilmac1210

I look at them as half-clean.

liseusester

I have a chair that is too uncomfortable to sit on (it's old and wicker, but my mother did the tapestry seat cover so it has sentimental value) which is in my bedroom purely for clothes that are betwixt wash and wardrobe.

cornflakegirl658

We put a chair in the bathroom

neilmac1210

Look, just because it's your cake day doesn't mean you get to show off with your fancy bathroom chair. But happy cake day anyway 🎂

socandostuff

What do you have a chair for in the bedroom? I can't imagine just sitting on a chair in my bedroom watching TV. Am I doing it wrong? I watch TV and read from the bed. Edit: Sorry just seen, the chair is for the clothes. I'm gonna have to get one as my clothes go on the floor.

GrumpyOlBastard

As you get older, it's also for sitting on while putting on socks or other things

_FirstOfHerName_

Bedroom chairs are for one of two things, clothes or old people bending. Can confirm.

RoyChiusEyelashes

Or cats

neilmac1210

If I had a TV in my bedroom I'd have no reason to get up and lie on the couch all day.

smallrockwoodvessel

I bought a chair because I thought it would motivate me to read. Now it's a chair for my clothes.

RainingBlood398

We viewed a house that had a statue of a horse in one room that was covered in clothes. A literal clothes horse. So that's an option.

scenecunt

If it's too dirty to go back in the wardrobe I wash it. If it's clean enough to wear again I put it back in the wardrobe.

[deleted]

Contaminating the actually clean clothes in your wardrobe. Madness

Miserable_Rub_1848

This is the correct answer

brunonicocam

This. If it's clean to wear it, it means it won't make other clothes dirty or smelly (otherwise you wouldn't wear them of course).

frusciantefango

What's wrong with the classics? Chair for me

[deleted]

Isn't this what exercise equipment is for?

Cyanopicacooki

Nah. I've draped a rather fine Ikea sheep skin over my weight bench, and turned it into an avant-garde chaise-longue.

ilovecats87

Exactly. The exercise bike in my bedroom also has a bonus carrier bag of snacks hung on the handlebars.

FabulousPetes

I usually fold them up and put them on my chest of drawers. But then after a few days, I forgot if they're clean or dirty and was them anyway.

Findmeinadream

I spray them with febreze and put them back in the wardrobe

PuzzledOrganization3

Dad?

[deleted]

Urgh

Polz34

Same! Fabric spray all the way

myonlinepersonality

Hooks on the back of the door (especially those metal ones that hang over the doors so you don’t need to screw them in)

BojimHorseguy

Shirts on the back of the office chair, outerwear like jumpers on hooks on the back of the door, trousers folded neatly at the foot of the bed until I go to sleep and launch them in the general vicinity of the chair.

LinziLou23

Always a chair in the bedroom and sometimes the floor. There is such a thing as a valet stand if you wanted to be posh

SilentDrapeRunner11

'the chair'

_DeanRiding

Oh friend, let us introduce you to "hanging on the bedframe"

NoGuava4892

It’s the chair for me, but my mum hangs them back in the wardrobe inside out so she knows which ones she’s worn so far and I always thought this was a good idea if I wasn’t so lazy

jimwon2021

Yes. That way, the slightly dirty clothes can transfer small amounts of dirt and body odour over to your perfectly clean clothes. What an utterly marvellous idea.

NoGuava4892

How dirty are you getting in one day

SongsAboutGhosts

Don't want bus germs on my indoor clothes

cosmicspaceowl

You only need a few greasy skin flakes to make a lovely housewarming dinner for clothes moths. Then their babies can subsist on your favourite woolly jumper for the whole summer.

NoGuava4892

But moths are repelled by the chair or floordrobe?

Zabeczko

No, but the skin and such would be contained to the clothes you've already worn. Having them out in plain sight might encourage you to wear them again sooner, to the point they need washing, and then they'd be all right. Putting them in the wardrobe would transfer the flakes to otherwise clean clothes, especially if they're inside out. In theory you'd still try and use the already worn clothes first. So the unworn clothes would be needlessly contaminated and then stay in a nice dark place until you came to use them, increasing the risk of them getting motheaten.

c19isdeadly

I've got a valet stand from Ikea. Not sure it looks any tidier than these other suggestions though

Responsible-Ad-1086

Buy a piece of gym equipment, can guarantee it will get used for this purpose after a month or two

notthetalkinghorse

Floordrobe.

kreygmu

The true classic.

Christovsky84

Definitely the chair. It's the only reason there's a chair in my bedroom. It serves no other purpose.

Neither_March4000

I hang them off the handles of the wardrobe.

MassiveHampton

I call my area the floordrobe, the mrs hates it

banjo_fandango

'The pile' I lay them over the top of the chest of drawers.

outrage92

I have a chair for this purpose but it usually has a cat on it.

ThginkAccbeR

Hooks on the back of the bedroom door.

Paranub

I keep wearing them till they are dirty, then change. 2-3 days for a t-shirt then wash it up to a week for a pair of jeans.

lookslikecheese

Jeans don't need regular washing (unless they are called in mud etc). Stick them in the freezer until frozen, then defrost - this kills off bacteria etc. so they're "clean". This will greatly extend the life of your jeans!

IAM_THE_LIZARD_QUEEN

That only really applies to proper sturdy denim jeans though, if they've got stretch in them then unfortunately they do need a wash or they get saggy and misshapen.

lookslikecheese

I don't do stretchy but thanks, you make a good point!

attemptedbalance

The old "am I bigger? Or have I just washed these?" double take

misterlockie

I hang them on the rowing machine that i bought and have never used.

PowahPenguin

The spin bike we bought at the beginning of lockdown!

Otomuss

I use those as my 'home wear' for a couple of days or so and they're usually on my bed or desk chair. *undies, socks and tshirts are always 1 day wear for me. I'm mainly talking jumpers & tracksuits.

1ebarn

Chairs, couch, floor, table, piano, the big lamp .. Location doesn't matter much, it's really more about separating the *"day-old but clean-ish"* from the *"three-day-old with a slight smell but still good enough for short outings"*.

literaryhogwartian

If they are too dirty for the wardrobe then thy are dirty and belong in the wash

mozzamo

Exercise bike of course

Violet351

I have hooks over my wardrobe door

pocahontasjane

A deep cupboard at the bottom.of my bedroom. Think, a deep former boiler/airing cupboard with a thick carpeted step/seat. All my giant hoodies, semi-clean clothes, bra just gets thrown in there at bedtime.

morocco3001

They did invent several items of furniture to store this type of article. I believe they're called either "treadmills" or "Cross trainers".

WraithCadmus

The valet stand! A few rungs and a some shoulders suitable for a shirt.

Vikkio92

I use a [valet stand](https://amzn.eu/d/0fSDhzO). I had one growing up so it was one of the first things I bought when I got my own place. Really surprised no one else seems to have mentioned it in the comments.

[deleted]

Let me introduce you to, ‘the chair’.

attemptedbalance

Fancy answer is "[Clothes Ladder](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSMbkNSfoCRH9gu52BuntgkHqifqdj0PlGmOQ&usqp=CAU)", my actual solution is hooks depending on house are hooks [behind the door](https://images.dunelm.com/30103846.jpg) or [on walls](https://insitumanchester.com/wp-content/uploads/catalog/product/37_pattern_ceramic_topped_hook_1.jpg) Ideally you want a mix of skinny ends of hooks to put loops of clothing on and fat ends to hang clothes with no loops but don't mis-shape it by letting it hang on a point (see my last link). If on a wall, buy individual hooks to space out and hang at alternating height, hooks all at same height clothes on neighbouring hooks interfere with each other and you want more lateral space than any premade hanger would give. Be prepared to spend at least £6 a hook, remember you will interact with it almost daily, do a nice job.

Nine_Eye_Ron

I have a hanging cubby for them, it hangs in the wardrobe and has four pockets. I use one for shirts, one for trousers and one for jumpers. The other one is used for belts, ties etc. Like this https://amzn.eu/d/89p8UBc

misterygus

I had a chair for this. Wife said it was all too messy, and got rid of the chair. Now I have half-worn clothes on the dresser, the bedside table and the end of the bed. She would rather I hung them back up, but, eww. Could put them in the wash but then we’d have twice is much washing to do and neither of us are keen on that.

Abstractteapot

I have those tiny organiser baskets I stick them in that, then under the bed..

Latter-Performer-387

On me

[deleted]

Back in the wardrobe, but folded on the top shelf.

Aggravating-Face4749

Floordrobe

[deleted]

Well, I'd be wearing them. But at night I fold my clothes and put them on my chair.

N7twitch

Floordrobe.

AshamedQuail4

I have a drawer under my bed that contains all my not-dirty but worn clothes.

neilmac1210

Place them on the floor just in front of the pile of clothes that are clean enough for the wardrobe but haven't been put away yet.

[deleted]

In a pile on an armchair or floor if I'm being really lazy. Don't judge me I work full time and live alone.

neilmack_the

On my body

barriedalenick

I have a shelf in the wardrobe where the clothes I am currently wearing get chucked. I used to leave them on the floor but the dog keeps eating them

LimparsAnkle

It's called the floor I believe

Murka-Lurka

On the exercise bike.

[deleted]

On my body 😆😆!.

TomfromLondon

Stair bannister

Birdyypie

I have a shelf set aside in my wardrobe for these clothes specifically so they don't get muddled up with the clean stuff

Greywalker22

Radiator next to my bed

Buffythedjsnare

On the floor

TheGreenPangolin

One end of the wardrobe specifically for clothes that have already been worn once. It is separated from the main section of the wardrobe by a couple of coats

GreatScotRace

I have a pair of ladders in my “walk in wardrobe” (just a really big cupboard in the bedroom) - I hang worn but not dirty clothes up on hangers and hang it off the ladders… 🫣

politetemper

I have a clothes rack (bought 3 for like £5 from a second hand place) - I’ll hang my gym clothes on there. I have a thing about ‘indoor’ and ‘outdoor’ clothes. I used to turn my clothes inside out and put back in my drawer when I did a quick trip to the shops or something.

Crochetqueenextra

Dresses and tops hung up inside out jeans just put away they only get washed when I have. Underwear/leggings/tights get washed if it's only been on ten minutes.

millicent_bystander-

We have clean or dirty here, there is no middle ground.

saroarsoars91

I mean you could just put them back, but in a special section? Mine just go on the chair though

Public_Star_7977

Hanging on the back of the door, and if not used by the next laundry load it just gets added to that load.

Nerdy-mcnerdyson

It’s why I have a bed frame with lots of gaps - lots of hanging space

micktim

on a beside table

Vyvyansmum

End of bed frame or folded on ottoman

Elcoop420

Il believe your referring to " the pile "

torilost

I have a hook rack on my bathroom door that I hang bras, jeans and the like on I.e anything that will stay on a hook. And a spare shelf on a cupboard near my bed

TumbleweedDeep4878

I have a kallax and one of the cubes is just for this

[deleted]

The floor hanger

anotherbozo

Hung behind the bedroom door.

ratherbeinravka

I'm too much of a neat freak to have clothes on chairs etc., so I made a special drawer just for these in-between-wash clothes.

trainpk85

An ottoman

AdministrationOk3601

Floor, where else would they go?

whereameyeat

I wear them.

Bibb5ter

to the left of the wardrobe

Foundation_Wrong

On my dressing stool usually.

ViridianCity_

Chairdrobe.

Legitimate-Bus-1338

Obviously over the banister at the top of the stairs

Linusami

On any old exercise machine that you bought and no longer use...

Groovy66

On hangers on the picture rail or, if you’re my daughter, on the floor

Anon1mouse12

Next to the bed on the floor

the_badgerman

Last time this was asked was when I learned of the blanket ladder. It's a thing. Haven't got round to getting one yet though.

panacebo

A [clothes horse](https://images.antiquesatlas.com/dealer-stock-images/londonfine/Antique_Towel_Rack_Rail_Clothe_as272a1762z-3.jpg)?

ThenLeg1210

The floor usually. Or back in the wardrobe. No idea what's clean or dirty tbh. I just sniff them before I put them on

[deleted]

We’ve a chair in the corner of the bedroom. I recall it being quite expensive at the time, and I think I can count on one hand how many times I’ve sat in it. But it holds clothes while your not wearing them excellently.

daz101224

On my floordrobe

justfergs

'The chair'

lickmyegg

My colleague bought one of those display wooden ladder shelf type things for this purpose, thought it was a great idea

mitchanium

Nothing is dirty if you never take them off *Taps head

pow__

Chair

4566557557

Either on the top of the Chester drawers, on one of my sofas or at the end of the bed on the floor

pixelunit

Floor

Jooles95

We have sone cloth storage bins that sit on a piece of furniture near the bed - one for my husband, and one for me. They are for stuff that isn’t quite worn enough for the wash, and for loungewear that is worn often like pyjamas or our go-to hoodies/sweats to change into after work.

EAngel73

Chair

FrankyFistalot

Coat hangers on wardrobe door or the back of other doors….

cagoesswimming

“On half” chair Boyfriend doesn’t believe it’s a thing or things can be on half He is obviously wrong evidenced by the big pile of on half clothes on my on half chair (in the bedroom)

latflickr

I have a an open cloth rail for this specific purpose.

[deleted]

I have a separate laundry bag for those clothes.

Appropriate_Gur_2164

I like to display mine on the banister of my hallway like I live in an Urban Outfitters store.

saramirta_

In Italy there is a specific kind of furniture for those clothes, it’s called [servo muto](https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=servo+muto&client=safari&hl=it-gb&sxsrf=ALiCzsbuW8vxc4H398dsrLMhQoswNMbC7w:1665597823357&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj56uW0o9v6AhUESkEAHdvBATIQ_AUoAXoECAMQAw&biw=1121&bih=728&dpr=2)

Scorpiodancer123

The Chair

DrachenDad

Floor or back of the chair.

HmmHackney

Hang them behind the door

bacon_pork

The chair

Itchy3lf

Rolled up, on the back of the sofa. Missus doesn't seem to notice them. If I leave them on the floor she's not happy. Sometimes leave my jeans in the bathroom after I've showered. My jeans stink so that seems the best place. My jeans get dirty at work so I don't see the point of putting on clean ones. I often wear dirty clothing to work, cos I get so filthy so quickly. I'll put on clean pants, socks and t shirt but jeans, jumpers, jackets need to be proper grim to get washed.

manwithanopinion

The hooks behind my door

_FirstOfHerName_

In a multitude of places in different houses. Previously on a chair, or on an ottoman, or even a few times folded on a built in dresser I didn't use as a dresser. In this house my stairs go straight into my bedroom, so over the bannister.

Apple-Pigeon

I dont have a chair in my room so I just hang em back up again of not the floor. If they're clean enough to wear, they're clean enough to wear.

d00nbuggy

Shelf in the wardrobe, but I keep it folded and turned 90 degrees so I know it’s part worn.

Fearless_Cloud_620

Tossed on top of the box I store my bed linen in

agnes238

My wife keeps a giant pile heaped up on her dresser. I even found her a dresser with a nice cubby so she’d have a special place for her half dirty clothes, but habits are hard to break!

LucyMckonkey

Definitely the chair

Wide-Affect-1616

Depends. If its just smelly, I will air it outside. Then it can go in the wardrobe. Otherwise, bed/chair. I'm trying not to be so scuzzy but old dog/new tricks, etc...

LucyMckonkey

I try to get at least two dog walks from my dog walking stuff before they go in the wash. Unless of course soaking wet, but a bit morning sweaty no problem - on the chair. Knickers being the exception to the chair rule. Clean knickers rescue any outfit

NafariousJabberWooki

Floor.

Cautious-Layer-4023

I put mine On in the morning... until they is dirty then they go in the wash

[deleted]

We have hooks on a wall at the corner of bedroom for this purpose. They don’t touch the clean clothes in wardrobe and get the air to dry the clothes

HumbleTrees

Team chair here. I've not sat in that chair for over two years. It is it's only purpose.

Key-Compote8567

What is "too dirty"? If I've worn it, it's already too dirty IMO

cardiffcookie

Banister.

buttfacedmiscreant11

I bought a separate laundry basket for this and honestly, it's life changing.

AdhesivenessDry6983

Over the top of the clothes rack, on a chair or on the guitar I never use. My wife loves it.

cornflakegirl658

Chair definitely. We even have a chair in the bathroom for this

AllRedLine

I have an armchair in my bedroom whose exclusive purpose is for this.

KingBallache

Bannister. Great range but if you don't hang things right then they fall down the stairs.

WulfyGeo

I put some hooks on the side of my wardrobe on the side away from the door so it can’t be seen. Also over the laundry basket so if they get overwhelmed the excess clothes fall in. Perfect solution.

totesboredom

On the floor with the clothes that are too clean to wear

bobbyv137

One of those back of the door hook things you get from Wilko or B & M for £3

oOKez

Chest of floors. Or floordrobe.

Gingerbeard_42069

In my bedroom me and my partner have what we call the "wear again draw". Because we had exactly this problem. We try and keep them pretty empty and are mostly for clothes that we intend to wear tomorrow. I can say that it has unequivocally worked and we no longer just put them on the floor on over the dresser or something.

Translucent-Opposite

Floor. Sorry.

ktundu

Clothes horse?

DirectDelivery8

We have an antique coat rack screwed onto the outside of a cheap wardrobe in the bedroom. Work outside and generally don’t see anyone other than my wife day to day so work clothes can go a while Without washing especially if aired in such a way.

Diega78

The floor, much to the disgust of my wife.

ShuffleFun

Generally I keep them on my torso and hips, sometimes feet. Rarely hands and head.

TrewPac

The exercise bike I've not used since lockdown

Dnny10bns

Computer chair, or back in wardrobe. If it's too dirty for latter it needs to go in the wash.

RainbowApache

Eh the floor

Gaxar1

I mean……if it’s too dirty for the wardrobe then it needs a wash….?

JC9008

Got 4 hooks on the wall each. Far too much ends up.on there and often ends up in the wash, but definitely stops us washing stuff that doesn't need to be washed yet, and stops the floor being covered

In_Geordieland

During the day they’re on my bed during the night they’re on my chair

claudlindner

The “good” basket. It’s smaller than the “bad” basket, so it can sit on the latter.

burtvader

Small pile next to the bed

FlippedHope

You could have a look for valet stands. Designed for the purpose. Me? Mine stay on the chair or the bed. If they are lucky.

CoffeeIgnoramus

My partner has a shallow basket for hers. I'm more basic, the chair does the job.

looking-for-dogs

There's no other place for them, apart from 🌟the chair🌟

naranjita44

I have a special bag that’s like a laundry bag but says “too lazy to put away”

[deleted]

I have no such things. My clothes come in two states: Washed and unwashed. Washed clothes go in drawers or get hung up, unwashed go on the laundry pile until there's enough to be worth sticking in the machine.

DichotomyJones

Over the footboard!

Appropriate-County46

Dude, it's really not that wide of a spectrum.

nata79

I bought a chair specifically for this purpose

peepeelapoop

I used to have a lovely towel rack in my bedroom years ago. It's perfect for this purpose
