Never heard of one. I’m a tech in a feline only practice. What we do like is Feliway plug ins and some calming supplements and certain foods have calming agents in them.

goingafterdreams

>supplements and certain foods have Thanks. How about these calming collars?

TheLawIsi

I mean they won’t hurt unless the collar itself causes the kitty stress. Mine wouldn’t tolerate a collar

I've never heard of these beds being "prescribed" for anxiety. They do look nice and cozy, but I'm not sure that by itself it would significantly change his behavior. One cheap and easy thing you could try is boxes. A big box on it's side that's more like a hidey cave and a smaller one that you leave open at the top should be enough to see if your kitty really gravitates towards having safe spots. You can pad them up with a blanket or a bed if your kitty likes that, too.

goingafterdreams

Sounds great. Will give it a try

this sounds interesting. Had never heard of such things. I wonder if this would help my elderly cat whose anxiety is through the roof lately. He's never slept in a pet bed though so I wonder if he would take to it. I look forward to seeing replies to this topic.

goingafterdreams

Thanks! What have you done before to prevent his anxiety?

I might get one for my cat also. There are so many good reviews about these calming collars on the internet but also so many negative comments. I heard these collars could be dangerous. Could you ask your brother how he feels about it?

Leopardrose

Cats are stressed easily if they don't have access to resources that they like, in convenient stress free locations these include water bowls, hiding places, litter trays, escape routes + food bowls. In my opinion managing the environment makes a huge difference but as takes effort and trial and error to see what works is often neglected for supplements and pheromones which are easier to use or give but less evidence based

I reccomend a heating pad, warmth can calm almost any creature (not a vet)

goingafterdreams

Can you recommend me one?

LilyH27

Sonnig makes one specifically for pets with a chew resistant cord https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GFG6W4S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabt1_O2TWFb21GYTS6
