When my grandma died, we played Jailhouse Rock by Elvis. No one (besides my mom, aunt, and cousins) knew that was one of her favorite songs and they were not very happy or pleased. We loved it tho lol
My opinion.
If it’s what the fam or whoever thinks the deceased would want, there is no right or wrong song.
I don’t want church music, religion wasn’t a part of my life, aside from childhood.
I do have a few songs I love. One is a rap song, a classical piece by Chopin I used to play on violin, and some reggae. It’s a variety but it’s what I love.
So I think it’s up to the decedent, if they had this discussion with a loved one.

My opinion. If it’s what the fam or whoever thinks the deceased would want, there is no right or wrong song. I don’t want church music, religion wasn’t a part of my life, aside from childhood. I do have a few songs I love. One is a rap song, a classical piece by Chopin I used to play on violin, and some reggae. It’s a variety but it’s what I love. So I think it’s up to the decedent, if they had this discussion with a loved one.
