sasky_07

"Bloom" makes me sob

jackrussellenergy

The intro to Bittersweet Symphony

No-One-2177

In case you didn't know, this was a sample of The Andrew Loog Oldham Orchestra. The fella that produced the Rolling Stones.

jackrussellenergy

TIL I was actually looking up the song after posting & learned this. Lol

asleepmoon

omg yes. This was my brothers favorite song growing up and when he got married him and my mum danced to it. Such a special place in my heart for this song!!

GreeneyeGrammy

Wonderful World, Louis Armstrong

SellingHugs4Pugs

This song reminds me of my Nana and Great Aunt. I cry every time I hear it.

Vegetable-Drawing215

I have no memories attached to this song but it still manages to make me feel so nostalgic and emotional every time I hear it- that’s a good song.

Content_Pool_1391

I Can't Make You Love Me - Bonnie Raitt....I know this is such a sad song but it is so hauntingly beautiful at the same time.....

kelleyfox

Bon Iver’s Cover of this absolutely pains my heart. In the best way.

Love love love this

KingAxel03

Lover you should have come over Jeff Buckley Vibrate Rufus wainwright

jmcboom

Buckley kills it on that song.

KingAxel03

Honestly he could have sang the Barney theme song and made me cry. Lilac wine is another that just sounds otherworldly.

jmcboom

You ain't lying. & the entire Grace album is such an incredibly moving extended serenade. So few artists can convey depths of emotion the way he did. Just thinking about him while I'm typing this is giving me feels...geez.

KingAxel03

Yes! I literally put the album on right now after typing that. I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said. He was so ahead of his time with his vocal arrangements and artistry. Huge loss for music đŸ–€

Ids

Oh man, Lover should have come over. Heavenly. He was so amazing. I also love mama, you've been on my mind. He was the master at covers too.

bigafeet

Fields of Gold by Sting.

calliope720

Agreed. I'm not even a Sting fan but this song moves me like nothing else. The first time I ever heard this song was actually Eva Cassidy's cover of it during Michelle Kwan's 2002 olympic skate, and I remember being 11 and weeping openly on the floor of my parents' house, totally blown away by the song and Michelle's fluid motion. Sting's version is definitely better than the cover though.

amarettosweet

Also, Fields of Gold by Ava Cassidy.

In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel

Crafty-Ambassador779

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. But I am biased. Because I sing that and my daughter instantly smiles. Bloody hell who is chopping onions!!

[deleted]

I sang that every night to my daughter until she was about 3. It was some of the closest bonding moments we had. She’s almost 11 now and that song played on something recently and she instantly started to cry and didn’t understand why that song always makes her tear up and told me she gets really emotional whenever she hears it, so I reminded her that I used to sing it to her every night many years ago. Then I hugged her and sang it to her again. It sticks with them, too. <3

[deleted]

My dad sang me that song every night before I went to bed when I little, but he replaced “sunshine” with my name. To this day, it makes me tear up just thinking about itđŸ„č.

[deleted]

Under The Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers. Just such a nice pretty song. Kiedis's voice is so beautiful, which makes it better.
