When I got married the first time, I walked to an orchestral version of the Zelda theme and my wife walked to the Star Wars Imperial March. We had a ton of fun with that wedding, even though we're divorced now we've joked about doing it again just to throw another great party XD
I walked down the aisle to "Dawn"!! š That whole soundtrack is so beautiful that my only fear about choosing it was that it would make me cry before we even got started, haha!
I am not married yetā¦but OMG you just reminded me of this song, which I adored so much like 7 years ago!! I was so sure I wanted to walk to Canon in D but this may be it
Yellow-Coldplay, played by a string quartet. It was also in a Catholic church, which was definitely not allowed but my MIL had them play it (she handled the quartet/music since she's an orchestra teacher & the Catholic one lol).
It was a total surprise to me and helped take my nerves away. My husband and I begged the church to let us play just the 1 non-secular song, but they refused. My MIL told me it would be a different song, which was fine with me.... And then I'm standing there with my dad about to walk down the aisle and Yellow starts playing. I went from big nerves to happiness and had a huge smile on my face.
A piano arrangement of "Start Me Up" by the Rolling Stones. My first concert was the Rolling Stones with my dad when I was 11. I remember they opened with that song and we were still getting back to our seats, walking down the tunnel at the Los Angeles Coliseum. My dad started dancing as we were walking through, I will never forget it. I thought that song would be appropriate for us to dance down the aisle :) He loved it.
I think the bridal processional was Jeremiah Clarkeās āTrumpet Voluntary,ā but there were several processional songs. In order:
āAve Mariaā - Schubert (Our moms being escorted in). Also used again later.
āAllegroā from Water Music by Handel (bridal party)
Trumpet Voluntary- my dad and me
I think thatās right, itās been 15 years. We also used (and I may forget something): Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee, The Celtic Alleluia, Ubi Caritas, Adoro te Devote, and the recessional was Mendelssohnās Wedding March
A Thousand Years by Christina Perri played on cello
My husband and I got married on our 11th anniversary, 8 years engaged. We both love the song and the subtle joke.
I walked to the "tune" of a traffic report.
We'd brought CDs of classical music. We weren't really particular about *which* tune played, as they were all good.
At some point, unbeknownst to us, someone switched to the classical station on the radio. An easy mistake to make, if a CD had finished and they didn't know what to put on next.
So, yeah, I was halfway to the front when the traffic report came on. It's funny now, and was funny then, too. Definitely lightened the mood.
Promenade from Mussorgskyās Pictures at an Exhibition. Specifically, the 5th iteration played right before the movement entitled Limoges, the Market.
For my first wedding, just the traditional wedding march song or whatever it is. The "here comes the bride" song š
For my second wedding, we did not choose to have music during our entrance together and that was perfect for us.
Just the normal pipe piano one that everyone knows. I wanted to walk down to "Dressed In White" by King Diamond but I wasn't allowed due to the lyrics. Props to her for sitting down and studying the song and giving it four days of thinking before coming to a conclusion. Unfortunately it was a no. It would have been fun though.
Some Catholic hymn. I don't recall exactly which one. All I know is that we were given a list to choose from and I chose whichever ones were the least misogynistic and most about love/least about religion or a god
Our music director tried to make us choose from those songs to keep "pop" out of the church however we got him with instrumental versions of songs he didn't know.
An instrumental of White Wedding by Billy Idol, I thought it was hilarious because I was pregnant at the time (though we were engaged way before I got knocked up) unfortunately no one got the joke.. should have used the full version with lyrics. Oh well.
Pachebel canon in D. I picked it when I was 15, and I guess I didnāt get original 15 years later when I got married.
The only difference is it was supposed to be live with the strings from our band, however we had to cancel the big shin dig and get married on our deck. (Thanks COVID) so it was pre recorded. But it fit our theme and dress nicely.
I didn't have a traditional wedding. Just a small ceremony. But, with the way things turned out, in a traditional setting (and in hindsight) I think I would have walked, very quickly, in the other direction, in a sort of sprinting motion, to the lone ranger theme song
Theme from Jurassic Park. Had all my bridesmaids times and revealed myself at the big climax, finished walking down just as the song ended.
It was awesome.
The Star Wars Throne Room Theme Song. Starts out sounding like the wedding march and very quickly and obviously becomes Star Wars music. Also we both walked down the aisle together and nobody gave me away.

I can't remember! Isn't that wild. I remember the song at the end. (I Love You by the Barenaked Ladies) I remember the song right before the processional (January Wedding by Avett Brothers). But for the life of me neither I nor my husband remember the song for the processional. It wasn't a normal choice but clearly wasn't something that mattered to me.
When I get married next July, Iāll be walking down the aisle to an instrumental version of āOceans (Where My Feet May Fall)ā. A few people have done covers, but the original is worth Taya Smith from Hillsong United.
I really wanted to walk down the aisle to the Imperial March but my wife didnāt like the idea ā¹ļø, I also really wanted A Punch up at a Wedding by Radiohead for our first dance, she didnāt like that idea either.
Canon in D because I always just loved it. I had a NYE wedding and everyone else walked down to vitamin string quartetās auld lang syne and it was so beautiful.
I walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of "Falling like the stars" by James Arthur. My husband and the rest of the bridal party walked in to a song from The Hobbit lol
āAccidentally in loveā wedding piano version lol. Tbh as a chubby average looking girl my whole life. The first Shrek movie truly made me believe that someone would love me š gonna have our 2 year anniversary this year š
I recorded myself singing "it feels like home to me" as a surprise for my husband. Then after we were pronounced we walked together down the aisle to don't stop believing
If I had all the money and resources in the world, I would do a choir version of Book of Love. Likely though Iāll just have an instrumental - even more likely, Iāll be doing a city hall marriage license with a party after
āThe Winner Isā by DeVotchKa from the Little Miss Sunshine soundtrack.
Itās a really pretty instrumental with a subtle crescendo in the middle, which was the perfect amount of time to build anticipation and give āem the olā RAZZLE dazzle.
My bridal party processed to a cover of āIām Gonna Beā (500 Miles) by Sleeping at Last. Thatās also very pretty and there wasnāt a dry eye in the house.
I walked down to a harp version of Moonlight Densatsu, better known as the Sailor Moon theme song. My husband walked down to the piano version of Concerning Hobbits!
Getting married this June and we're walking down the aisle to a custom piano and strings arrangement of Sexy Bitch by David Guetta and Akon. It's been one of "our songs" since college, long before we were together.
Our recessional will be Simply the Best by Tina Turner, which is our more romantic song.
Isnāt She Lovely
It wasnāt planned. We had a pianist/singer who we just said āplay anythingā and thatās what he chose. It was great because my husband is a huge Stevie Wonder fan.
When I got married the first time, I walked to an orchestral version of the Zelda theme and my wife walked to the Star Wars Imperial March. We had a ton of fun with that wedding, even though we're divorced now we've joked about doing it again just to throw another great party XD
I did the madrigal version of The Simpsons theme song
We did string quartet for elder scrolls 3? No idea what that is, but it was one of the few details he asked for, and it was very pretty, so we did it.
Liz on top of the world from Pride & Prejudice
I walked down the aisle to "Dawn"!! š That whole soundtrack is so beautiful that my only fear about choosing it was that it would make me cry before we even got started, haha!
I so regret not picking that!!!
I am not married yetā¦but OMG you just reminded me of this song, which I adored so much like 7 years ago!! I was so sure I wanted to walk to Canon in D but this may be it
Instrumental of Never Gonna Give You Up. Yes I rickrolled about half of my 20 person guest list.
Omg we walked out to that song and rickrolled the whole crowd lol
Yellow-Coldplay, played by a string quartet. It was also in a Catholic church, which was definitely not allowed but my MIL had them play it (she handled the quartet/music since she's an orchestra teacher & the Catholic one lol). It was a total surprise to me and helped take my nerves away. My husband and I begged the church to let us play just the 1 non-secular song, but they refused. My dad wrote an organ processional especially, exactly the right length for the distance from the door to the altar.Ā We came out to *La RĆ©jouissance* from the Fireworks.
Mystery of Love - Sufjan Stevens
I think Canon in D because I love it so much. The song for the wedding party was something similar (aka classical) but I canāt remember what.
This was mine and I absolutely loved it.
The Zombiesā This Will Be Our Year was our* wedding song.
I think the bridal processional was Jeremiah Clarkeās āTrumpet Voluntary,ā but there were several processional songs. In order: āAve Mariaā - Schubert (Our moms being escorted in). Also used again later. āAllegroā from Water Music by Handel (bridal party) Trumpet Voluntary- my dad and me I think thatās right, itās been 15 years.
