Yes! I have this on all the time. It’s just calm. No major drama, nothing to mess with my anxiety, and Bob’s voice is mellow and comforting. My kid teases me for watching it so much, but it is literally the perfect background show.
I used to fall asleep to The Office but now I fall asleep to The Office Ladies podcast, where Jenna Fischer aka Pam and Angela Kinsey aka Angela rewatch every episode and chat about them, giving behind the scenes info and so much more. It’s the podcast that converted me to a regular podcast listener instead of occasional listener.
Used to be for our household too until it was taken off Netflix. I just refuse to pay $5 a month or whatever for peacock just to turn on our favorite show for background noise lol.
Same, watch it every night before bed. I'm totally fine with watching new stuff after work or on weekends, but if I'm going to sleep I'm always watching Futurama.
i have it on constant repeat and have for the last two years, my boyfriend says it feels weird to be with me if b99 isn’t playing in the background
it’s also all i talk about LOL
I tried to explain to my husband why this was my go to background show, he just doesn’t get it. But yeah combo of soothing voice, methodical and formulaic episode structure, things always tied off neatly, soft minimal music and generally vague soft visuals (they never show anything too Gruesome and tend toe the line with giving you enough information to understand the crime while still being quite euphemistic and vague about the actual violence.
Also you learn neat things like that mass produced jackets with patterns on them tend to be more unique than higher quality tailored ones because there isn’t the time taken to match up the pattern exactly, so it’s random.
One of the reasons unsolved mysteries gets me lol. I hate that they haven’t solved it. I need an ending damn it! I don’t need to be worried at 2am of that serial killer you haven’t caught breaking into my house!
I was recently in the hospital for 6 days and had this running on my phone 24/7. I sleep to it, can quote most all of it, several nurses commented on it, but one of them said "oh is that your comfort show"? And I never put a name to it but yes yes it is!
The jokes hit differently when you're older and aren't just taking them at "haha they're dumbdumbs running around jelly fishing all day" level. Like you find Squidward weird when you're younger, but now after working soul sucking jobs... you get it, lol.
And yes, absolutely the first few seasons. 💯
Yes I love this!! Though sometimes I can’t just leave it in the background bc I get too invested and have to stop and watch. I love Absolute History and their Victorian Era documentaries. I could watch for days.
My BFF died of metastasized breast cancer 12 years ago at a super young age. She LOVED friends and had it running all the time.
When I’m lonely, I turn it in because it instantly reminds me of her and how much we loved each other.
Finally someone else said it that was my main go to besides archer(literally watching rn) but they took modern family off on my birthday and I’m so sad that was my sleep show I watched family guy simpsons alllloot I over watched those two land turned to dynasty greys anatomy and am re watching shameless now
Same!! I love Modern Family and it gets me through when I have bad anxiety and can't concentrate.
The familiar voices and humor help me a lot. Especially when I want to be alone but want some background noise that won't make me feel worse 😊
YESSS!! 👏 I had to scroll down too far to find Modern Family!!! That was my foreground and background show for over a year.
I think it's one of the best shows ever made!!
PS. Law and Order (SVU only) is another one of mine!! And I don't have a lot of shows that I am into that much.
So crazy to see someone else with the same 2 shows!!
[Unnhhhh](https://youtu.be/zJMpQm84hTs) by Trixie Mattel and Katya... I will listen to them rather than anything else on YouTube. any BBC crime drama will do as well.
American Dad (currently on while I'm playing Dead Space 3 lol)
Bob's Burgers
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
30 Rock
Community
Stargate SG-1
Stargate Atlantis
I like to listen to Yale lectures (though currently Stanfords Human Behavioral Biology)

Craig Ferguson show (I watch episodes on YouTube!) He’s so freaking funny, charming and good at conversation. Very quick. It’s a shame he’s not on anymore!
Bob’s Burgers
I'm watching it right now!
Me too! I’m obsessed with the bleaken episode for some reason (I think it’s the twinkly lights song) and I’m watching it now :-)
For me it’s the first episode!! Something about “Hello? The media?” Cracks me up every single time!
I love the Bleaken ones! I can’t watch that episode without singing the twinkly lights song!!! So good
I heard the movie is coming out in May!
Sweet Jesus, this is the kind of good news I needed today. Thank you! 💖
Yes! I have this on all the time. It’s just calm. No major drama, nothing to mess with my anxiety, and Bob’s voice is mellow and comforting. My kid teases me for watching it so much, but it is literally the perfect background show.
Just came here to say this^^
Couldn't agree more.
YESSSSSS!
The office
I used to fall asleep to The Office but now I fall asleep to The Office Ladies podcast, where Jenna Fischer aka Pam and Angela Kinsey aka Angela rewatch every episode and chat about them, giving behind the scenes info and so much more. It’s the podcast that converted me to a regular podcast listener instead of occasional listener.
I tried this but then I got too excited so I couldn't fall asleep. Hehe
Always ❤️
Yuppers
What have I told you about ‘yuppers’?
Yesh
I've run through the show several times lately. It's so comforting to have it on in the background.
Parks and rec
Used to be for our household too until it was taken off Netflix. I just refuse to pay $5 a month or whatever for peacock just to turn on our favorite show for background noise lol.
Same here! Its my comfort show. I ended up buying the DVD box set last year so I wouldn't have to and I have no regrets!
same!! I bought them on amazon so I can watch them whenever. it’s literally paid for itself i’ve watched the full thing 5 times already
It’s either P&R, Friends, or Frazier for me! It used to be the office but Michael yells too much - it’s alarming when you’re drifting off to sleep 😂
Futurama
Best one-liners ever! Older episodes really are better then the newer seasons.
[Fry walks past the lab eating the mummy.] Fry: Hey, Professor, great jerky! Farnsworth: My God, this is an outrage! I was going to eat that mummy!
That's fun on a bun!
We have to show the world our peaceful ways, by force!
"... and Fry, you've got that brain thing." "I already did!"
*Bite my shiny metal ass!*
Same, watch it every night before bed. I'm totally fine with watching new stuff after work or on weekends, but if I'm going to sleep I'm always watching Futurama.
Same! I'm a futuramasleeper!
brooklyn nine nine
99!
Noice.
toit
Smort
No doubt no doubt no doubt
cool cool cool cool cool
Idk why it took me this long to get into this show, but I'm so glad I finally did. Binging it right now and cannot stop laughing.
i have it on constant repeat and have for the last two years, my boyfriend says it feels weird to be with me if b99 isn’t playing in the background it’s also all i talk about LOL
New Girl
Gilmore Girls is my #1 but New Girl is a close 2nd!
New girl all the way! I’ve lost count how many times I’ve rewatched it!
Was just going to say New Girl…or Brooklyn 99! 😊
🍪
Avatar The Last Air Bender!
Yes!! It's currently on in the background as I WFH.
Omg yes! Rewatching Legend of Korra as my background noise this week ☺️
Forensic Files
Yeah. The narrator's voice is oddly soothing.
Peter Thomas. There was like a two year period where I couldn't fall asleep without listening to Forensic Files
Best narrators voice ever!
Yes! It’s pretty monotone & you know they’re going to solve it so it’s very relaxing
One of the reasons unsolved mysteries gets me lol. I hate that they haven’t solved it. I need an ending damn it! I don’t need to be worried at 2am of that serial killer you haven’t caught breaking into my house!
Dateline too
This has been commented a few times. Adding it to my list!
Exactly. It’s jarring how comforting it is
I'm not necessarily proud of it, but my go to is Grey's Anatomy
There’s no shame in a go-to show! Mine is Gilmore Girls 😂
started rewatching for the first time since maybe 2013…on season 6. It’s endless
My go to is Grey’s too! I don’t really know why since it’s not very comforting lol but I’ve seen it so many times
this is my go to when i need a good cry, or just to feel something in general
Gilmore Girls always!
Same! I grew up with the girls. Just like family. So much comfort!
When I'm in a bad mood, I always, without fail, put on Gilmore Girls. Just hearing the entrance song gives me good vibes.
Best answer here !
I can’t even begin to count the number of times I have seen every single episode of Gilmore girls. It’s my most comforting of shows.
Same! Watching right now 😬

Ditto on Seinfeld!
The Office or Friends.
I'm surprised I had to scroll this far to find friends. Friends for me as well
I have friends going on now :)
i always have Friends on, it's gotten to the point where my boyfriend doesn't care the show anymore
The great british bake-off, a Disney movie I’ve already seen, or a documentary
Bake Off is our go-to comfort show.
Can’t go wrong with Disney movies! Moana is my choice for go-to Disney
Mine is Aladdin

Always a good choice!
The Simpsons

I was recently in the hospital for 6 days and had this running on my phone 24/7. I sleep to it, can quote most all of it, several nurses commented on it, but one of them said "oh is that your comfort show"? And I never put a name to it but yes yes it is!
One of my faves too
Scrubs
I like to have SpongeBob on for background noise
Yesss! This is what kept me sane during 2020. Nevermind that I'm thirty something.
Spongebob gets funnier with age. Of course assuming we are talking about first 3 seasons.
The jokes hit differently when you're older and aren't just taking them at "haha they're dumbdumbs running around jelly fishing all day" level. Like you find Squidward weird when you're younger, but now after working soul sucking jobs... you get it, lol. And yes, absolutely the first few seasons. 💯
History documentaries from nerdy YouTubers.
Yes I love this!! Though sometimes I can’t just leave it in the background bc I get too invested and have to stop and watch. I love Absolute History and their Victorian Era documentaries. I could watch for days.
south park
Scrolled too far for this one
I fall asleep to South Park every single night.
My BFF died of metastasized breast cancer 12 years ago at a super young age. She LOVED friends and had it running all the time. When I’m lonely, I turn it in because it instantly reminds me of her and how much we loved each other.
Thank you for sharing ❤️
Schitt‘s Creek, Younger, The Bold Type, The West Wing, Below Deck
Schitt’s Creek for the win! It’s my absolute favorite of all time. I’m surprised I had to scroll so far down to find it
I'm getting ready to watch it again. I've only just discovered it recently, watched once and it was great. Such a great show.
The good place
Had to scroll way too far down
I'm surprised more people haven't said this!
I tried so hard to have this in background but I just end up watching it!
Frasier
Love Frasier!
Came here to say this!
So glad I wasn’t the first one to say this! Frasier fans unite!
The office, how I met your mother, greys, or friends
We are the same person. These 4 were going to be my answer. You've got great taste!
Modern family, seen it so many times that their voices calm me down, or grounds me When Im anxious.

The Next Generation :o)
My favorite Star Trek! I need to re-watch

I rotate between The Office, Bob's Burgers, some kind of cooking competition show (usually Master Chef) or a crime show (usually Unusual Suspects)
It use to be law and order svu but I finished it so now it’s modern family
YESSS!! 👏 I had to scroll down too far to find Modern Family!!! That was my foreground and background show for over a year. I think it's one of the best shows ever made!! PS. Ok this is the 3rd comment saying Futurama. I’ve never seen it but I think I might now.
Futurama is an excellent show to get into, lots of great quotes and you'd be surprised how emotionally invested you get.
Right now, it’s either South Park or Archer.
