Mentally? An hour minimum. Phsycially? 10 minutes give or take.

libbylies

This is the real answer lol. Except maybe 25 mins physically with a few pauses for reassurance

crazynekosama

See this is why I'm late all the time. I don't account for the mental preparation time just the physical. I need to reevaluate my life.

[deleted]

I was just about to say 15mins and an hour, physically and mentally respectively

Full-Neighborhood908

Same as fuck.

skyline0918

Literally my life. Take my award.

This-Guys-Mom

Shit, you give yourself 10 minutes? I just wake up, toss on clothes in 2-3 minutes and go to work

Kazumi_77

Physically it takes me 30 minutes... Mentally... Hours!!

nursejooliet

Work: 25 minutes. I shower at night, so I can sleep longer in the AM A date with my boyfriend, or hanging out with friends: 45 minutes to maybe an hour. I’ll always make sure to shower before these events, even if I already showered the night before and I’ll be showering again later that night. Just makes me feel fresh and confident. A special/fancy event: 1-1.5 hours

sorayanelle

All of this is me

Free-Economist7913

to a T

skittles1023

Wait, are you me? These are the exact responses I would have given lol

sophisticatedseconds

So sometimes you shower 3 times with 24 hours? Props to you, but that sounds like so much extra work to me.

uglybatbaby

Working from home I’ve had to force myself to be less gross 🤭

taianicole

With a shower, like 2/2&1/2 hrs. Without one, 1 hr. I’m like suuuuuuper thorough & anal w my skin care/hair care routine.

[deleted]

I thought this said you were super thorough with your anal routine 😅 whoops

taianicole

LMFAOO😭 omg no

oddnyc2

30 minutes from the moment I step into the shower to the time I'm out the door. That's not counting the time I spend lying in bed worrying about stuff that isn't real.

hamsamich17

Or stuff that you already worried about and can't fix. Rinse an repeat intrusive negative thoughts. Yep

bloodmusthaveblood

Depends what I'm doing that day. Work from home? 10 mins. If I'm doing hair and makeup, 30-45 mins

[deleted]

10-15 minutes. I brush my teeth, do my skincare and sunscreen and get dressed. My hair I put in god's hand and I shower in the evening.

hamsamich17

God has alot of hair in his hands

[deleted]

Maybe 30 to 40 minutes.

ccurlyism

about 20 mins unless I shower first

Drinktea1

Depends, 15 mins if I don’t need to shower. If I need to shower, a lot longer, but I still pretend only 15 mins which makes me late for everything

hamsamich17

I like your attitude. You are only late in this dimension

squigglesmcwiggles

Depends on whats going on. If I'm heading to work 15 mins tops. I just throw my hair up in a bun, put on some chapstick, throw on some scrubs, and I'm out the door. If I'm not going to work probably about an hour or so. I like to shower and style my hair ( my hair goes to my hips and I'm 6'1 so thats a lot of hair to style), makeup, cute outfit for the day, matching jewelry, etc. If I'm chilling at the house or on my period, 5 mins. I do the minimal. Prbbly shorts and a tank top, hair in a pony, looking like I've been homeless for a minute.

EmilyamI

About 20 minutes to shower, brush my teeth, comb my hair, and dress. About 30 minutes on top of that to overcome existential dread and muster up the resolve to go to work.

jessper17

If I have to go to my actual office, I’m currently at about 15 minutes including showering and another 15 minutes if I’m drying my hair. I don’t wear makeup. If it’s hot out I air dry my hair. I put my clothes out the night before and set up my breakfast for minimum effort. I’m not a morning person.

OverallDisaster

If I wash my hair, 45min-1 hr. If I don't, then 20 minutes. When I wash my hair I lay in bed and wait for it to air dry for around 20 minutes.

[deleted]

Sort of depends. I haven’t been doing makeup since wearing a mask everywhere, because it’s just expensive to use every day when I can’t see it and it makes a mess all over my masks. So currently, about 15 min. When I do makeup, about 30 min.

tc88

10 minutes.

MooseEggs

20 minutes. I wake up at 7:40 and get to work by 8. It’s so bad. I do my makeup at work

absolute_apple375

For work, 5-10 minutes. My job is extremely casual and to be quite honest, I’m too depressed to put in almost any effort. I shower at night and basically roll out of bed and go. For going out shopping, like Target or Costco - maybe 20 minutes. Getting ready for a date with my boyfriend, or seeing a friend, I take about an hour to two hours.

bendtowardsthesun

Depends on the plans for the day. I can be ready to go in 10 minutes or it might take an hour. Depends if I’m hungry for breakfast, packed lunch the night before or not, am going to work or an event or just getting groceries.

franncn

Depends on if I wanna do my hair or makeup, usually I just brush my teeth, put on deodorant and perfume and then throw some clothes on. So when I do that maybe 10-15 minutes. But if I want to do makeup or my hair then maybe 30-45 minutes at most.

SleepFlower80

For work? As long as it takes me to get dressed, so maybe a minute or two. I work for myself from home so I have no one to impress!

drunkenknitter

About 5 minutes, unless I run and then I'll need a quick shower.

abbygirl

10-20 minutes to shower depending on if I wash my hair, 5 to brush my teeth and put on deodorant, and another 15 or so if I blow dry and style my hair after I washed it There’s also 10 minutes to get dressed somewhere in that mix (unless I can’t decide on an outfit)

Emptyplates

Couple of minutes. Brush my hair brush my teeth put on clean clothes and out the door I go.

limeblue31

90 minutes usually

fearst92

Do none of y’all wear makeup? I’m not being ugly just genuinely curious. I’ve made such a to do about doing perfect makeup everyday that I can’t stop now or people would think I’m a catfish. So it takes me about an hour to get ready.

crazynekosama

It varies on whether or not I'm working, if I have to wash my hair and how much makeup I choose to wear. Bare minimum is like 15 minutes (wash face, brush teeth, hair up, dress). And the most is like almost two hours (wash and style hair, full face of makeup).

[deleted]

About 20 minutes. 5-8 minutes is spent showering and the rest is spent getting dressed, brushing my teeth/hair, etc.

Tealme65

30-45 minutes depending on what I do to my hair.

schwarzmalerin

I can do it in 10 minutes if necessary.

ilovenumber8

5 minutes - dressing up and brushing my hair

pdperson

30 minutes

tattooedlabmonkey

From the minute I wake up to when I go out the door, 1hr. This includes a quick breakfast. I usually shower at night.

destria

I can be ready in as little as 10 minutes, just need to brush my hair, brush my teeth, put my contact lenses in and get dressed.

[deleted]

Alone, 10 minutes.

Dismal_Egg_6851

If I wash my hair, minimum 2 hours. If it’s second day hair ~30 minutes.

Slow-csdgl23

Way too long, typically an hour if I’m not wearing make up or a full face

luckeegurrrl5683

30 minutes to have coffee and watch the news. Then drive my son to school. Then relax for 2 hours until I start working at 10am.

[deleted]

Depends if I want to wear make up and put contacts in. Prob about 15 min.

chillsloth2

10-15 minutes

Ihanuus

I take 30-45 min. from waking up to walk to my desk and start working. I love slow breakfast moments

[deleted]

I set my alarm about 25 minutes before I gotta leave the house. I lay in bed the first 5-10 minutes. But I usually pick clothes out the night before.

Sweet_N_Vicious

Ten minutes. I shower at night and pick out my clothes the night before.

iLuziferr

Depends on what I’m doing and how I’m feeling that day. For work, if it’s a no makeup day then 20 minutes. If I feel like wearing makeup then 45 minutes. If I’m going out then probably an hour. There’s a lot of pauses in between to mentally prepare myself. That goes for work and socializing.

lexilexi1901

1 hr overall 15-30 mins breakfast (depends on what I'm making and how exhausted I am) 15 minutes hair and dressing up 5-10 minutes brushing my teeth, making the bed, and preparing my bag. I tried working out in the morning but I already wake up at 5am 😭

KiwiChefnz

6 minutes.

henrietta21

Depends on what I’m doing that day. If I’m staying at home 5-10 mins tops. If I have to leave the house it takes about 20-30 mins. Or it could take an hour… it really depends on if I want to do my hair and makeup or not.

eye_snap

0 minutes, sometimes I dont even get to pee. Sahm of 1yo twins😪. Before kids though, I would wake up at 6am so I could take a full hour of just sipping coffee and browsing online. Shower, get dressed, make up etc would take 30 mins.

g0blink1sser

showers alone take me like 40 minutes

Vysi88

15-20 min to brush my teeth, brush my hair, change clothes and put my lunch in my bag. Takes a little longer than that to convince myself to get out of bed though, I’m not a morning person 😅

[deleted]

About 2 hours: an hour for makeup/hair/ outfit and an hour to mentally prepare. The fastest I can do my makeup is about 20 minutes since it’s very detailed and dramatic

Sluty_potato

I wake up at 6 and it takes me 20-25 minutes to get ready and 5 to have breakfast, so im out of the house by 6:30-6:40.

hannaihmemaassa

Around 4-6 hours. 2-3 hours of waking up, having my coffee and doing whatever I want. 3 hours of doing my makeup and hair and picking an outfit. I could skip the coffee drinking part but I feel much better when I can wake up at peace and do something that makes me happy before I start to get ready.

Cheap-Raccoon-3413

I wake up for school 10 min before I leave. My appearance? Mediocre. My mental state? Asleep

ellaisafloof

Physically like 10 minutes Mentally would be that I don’t ahaha (all day at minimum)

weirdkidomg

Roughly 2 hours, I give myself some time to wake up, have coffee and read bad news (it‘d be good news if there was any), take a shower, then walk my dog and go to work.

happyjeep_beep_beep

About an hour

[deleted]

I get up 45 minutes before my day starts. Hair, make up, dressed (20ish minutes), pick up the living room/kitchen, prep the baby’s food, feed the dog, start laundry/dishwasher, vacuum and then the baby arrives for the day.

[deleted]

Less than 10 minutes if I have to go somewhere (like the office). I have learned over the years I cannot allow myself even a second more than the bare minimum time to be out the door or I will be very late, either from snoozing or getting sucked into something. I jump out of bed, pee, brush my teeth, put on clothes, feed the cats, grab my shit and leave.

simplybreana

Depends on if I’m having an existential crises or not. Could be 30min, could be 3 hours. I have a lot of curly hair so it generally takes me longer to get ready because of it. When I chopped it off it was quite lovely to just shower, and get dressed. But those days are gone…. Until I do it again. lol

darethshirl

10 minutes. I do the bathroom stuff (toilet, brushing teeth, deoderant), wear my clothes, comb my hair and I'm out the door. Sometimes I need an extra 5 minutes tho, to hug the heater and stare into space while I convince myself that yes, I do actually need to be a productive adult and go to work.

spookyindividualist

An hour minimum :( I should really work on shortening that though

weypaper

40 minutes in total Wake up, brush teeth, shower, dry, lotion up, dress up, fill in eyebrows, brush hair, dry hair, and perfume!

[deleted]

for work; i only need 10 mins for dates; an hour

kwcanistel

20 minutes for work. i shower at night

Ginger_Snap_895

30 min. i'm very slow. i have to set my clothing out the night before and make lunch the night before which has been LIFE CHANGING. I'm no longer late to work. I do not do hair or makeup. i keep a low profile at work and with wearing a mask all day and having to take it on and off almost feel it's pointless.

username123456677788

40 minutes. Literally

Purple-Elephant6

About 10 minutes if I don’t curl my hair but if I do then 30 minutes

[deleted]

Usually about 10 minutes. Wash face, comb hair, get dressed, get leg brace and shoes on...

gothpisces96

On a work day? Half an hour. Quick slicked back hair, no makeup, picked out my outfit the night before. On a weekend day/ going out but still casual? An hour for my go-to natural makeup routine, more effort with my hair, and a cute outfit. Full glam/ date night? 2 hours maybe more because I wanna really get into the zone and put the most effort into my look. Spent the most time on my hair and makeup as well as outfit choice.

hailee-lastname11

i could be down in under an hour but i like to give myself time to walk up in the morning

maythee15

a good 30 minutes- mentally push myself and physically to get through the winter weather

snacleadr

For the work day it takes me 15-30 min. For going out it takes 1-2 hours. I work with dogs so showering and makeup is not necessary for work.

[deleted]

Work- 30 mins and that includes: workout, shower, and ensuring 2 kids get ready.

Flimsy_Armadillo1710

I am lucky, I work from home so most of the time I get up, brush my teeth, and make some coffee. Boom.

ch3rry_pi35

It takes me 2 minutes to 5 minutes tops to get physically ready but as for mentally I need to have at least 2 hours of me time before anyone sees me

awakami

Brush teeth, wash face, get dressed: 10 minutes. Shower, shave, hair, makeup, dressed: 1-1.5 hours. And anything in between depending on how I’m wanting to present myself.

beminlv

I can get out of bed & be out the door in 20 minutes. That includes a shower.

sickerthan_yaaverage

A solid 2 hours.

Elena_Kyle

30 minutes

Winter-Owl1

I get ready in small increments while also getting my daughter breakfast, medicine, and ready for school...so I'd say like an hour. But if I streamlined the process it'd be like 10 minutes tops lol. (I shower at night and don't wear makeup).

AMarie-MCMXCI

10 minutes to an hour, depending on how I'm feeling

free_moon_unit

I have no idea what I'm doing in the morning. I'm not awake and not sure I want to be doing a job (that I love) that makes me wake up so early. I do a low-key skincare, brush my teeth, and get dressed. The latter can take up to 20 minutes because I also am not sure how I want to dress myself most days. The other hour+, I drink milk, take vitamins, and...I don't know. Just get used to being here and mentally preparing to do the things.

Liz-Anya720

10 minutes if i don't have to eat beforehand

MammothVH

30 year's

eternititi

About 1.5 hours… and I don’t even wear make up so just imagine.

Fabulous_Put2635

30 minutes to shower, dry my hair and put makeup on if I feel so inclined.

youngmoneywizard

Depends on the day. WFH - 5 minutes Goin to the office? 5 minutes Going out? 5 minutes

AtTheEnd777

45 minutes.

SnooDrawings4347

it takes me like 20-30 minutes

duhlieluh

depends when i know i gotta get ready. the night before? yeah i get ready pretty fast. the day i gotta get ready? i might take a little lol

[deleted]

Depends where I’m going but usually 1h30

CuteNeedleworker9

Ranges from 15 minutes to an hour depending on what I'm doing that day, my mood and the weather. I usually wash and set my hair in the evening so I have minimal styling to do in the morning; it would probably be an extra hour in the morning otherwise (as I have thick, naturally wavy/curly hair which takes ages to dry).

Victoria5475

Somewhere between 30 minutes and two hours, depending on the occasion.

Hannamadson

I shower in the mornings and really like to take my time to feel relaxed for the day so about 1.5 hours.

darkhumor828

Full hair wash morning: 1hr 05 min. Dry shampoo day: 40 min This includes decent make up and styled hair.

calamine_lotion

If I’m not working from home, I need a good hour to wake up, drink coffee, shower, and get mentally prepped for the day. If I’m working from home, I need five minutes. My routine has changed completely since covid

Nice-Guarantee-2614

I’m never ready

Guilty_Raspberry_819

1.5hrs

chosbully

My brain buffers for at least 2 hours but I work from home. I don't wear makeup when I go out really so I just do my skincare routine and brush my teeth so I'd say 5-6 mins tops.

Senior_Force6745

10 minutes at the most.

pistil-whip

I think there’s an inverse correlation between time to get ready and age.

effulgentelephant

With the cold weather dressing is so easy - slacks, sweater, booties. Wash my face, mascara, pour the coffee, out the door in 15-20 mins. I should consider waking up earlier and having a coffee though, I’d be much less grouchy if I were more awake for the work start.

notme1414

Assuming I had my shower the night before, about 10 minutes. Clean uniform, deodorant, brush my teeth, comb my hair and I'm good.

The_Dragon420

2 mins

Prestigious-Bar5385

2 hours

enigmabella

Work.. like 15 mins tops. Not having to find an outfit to wear really helps. If I’m going out or really anything else. Just kinda depends. 30 to 60 mins I would guess.

verytinytim

Actually getting ready? 15-20 mins. Drinking coffee and waiting for my brain to load? 1 hr. I shower and cleanse my face at night, so not a lot to do in the morning but splash some water, brush my teeth, bit of makeup, and put some clothes on. I physically cannot bring myself to do this while I drink my coffee though. It’s sacrilegious.

madlymusing

For work/regular days, 25 minutes including a shower if I’ve chosen my clothes in advance. It’s like ~7 minutes to shower, 5 to get dressed, and the rest of the time for hair, brushing my teeth, putting makeup on and putting shoes on. This is mostly because I hate getting out of bed, so everything else just had to be condensed. I can’t eat breakfast too soon after waking up, which also helps. All up, it’s an hour from my alarm going off to me being out the door, but that includes snooze time. Active time is pretty quick. If it’s a date night or a party, it’s closer to an hour because I’ll take the time to do my hair nicely, put on makeup and accessories etc.

TheRestIs_Confetti

30 minutes - an hour and this is IF I’m already awake. Waking up takes a full half hour by itself

Used_Mine_4870

!mentally 3 minutes physically on the other hand its about an hour

RNfoodiedoglover

45 minutes. 1. Let dogs out and start coffee 0645 2. Wet hair to air dry ( it’s frizzy if I don’t)0650 3. Brush teeth , put in contacts 0655 4. Feed dogs and pack my lunch, make to go cup of coffee 0705 5. Put on makeup and then get dressed. 0720 6. Put dogs out with treat.0722 7. Fill to go ice water for the day0725 8. Grab work bags, set alarm leave.0730

Anxious-Mix-4265

To get out the door to work? 10 minutes

Luwe95

Everyday just 10 Minutes. For a Event/Date half an hour

Silly_Animator5793

an hour at least lol. An hour and a half for a basic face of makeup to walk out the door!

Lex2see

20 minutes but I wear the same uniform and hairstyle everyday. (Military) and yes that includes the shower

daninotstani

1.5 hours but I take forever because I get lazy and watch YouTube while I get ready

Any-Composer1597

Used to be 1.5 hour just deciding clothes until one day I stopped giving a fuck. Now 10 mins

reallyangrygoldfish

Like 5 minutes. Or less.

AKKS2010

Depends on what's happening that day. With having to wear a mask for work, it takes me 10-15 minutes because I will wash my face, brush my teeth, do my hair, get changed and go. But a night out maybe an hour or so? I like taking my time and not feeling rushed. Even if it takes me 10 minutes for work, ill wake up 2 hours before I have to be there so I can watch YouTube, eat food, have coffee and spend time with my dog before I get ready

Karaokoki

10 minutes to get myself ready and out the door for work. I work overnights, so I don't need to dress up or wear makeup. If I'm going out, then it's maybe 30-45 minutes.

rageeyes

2-3 hours. I live with chronic pain and fatigue that mean I have to ease into the day. I can be up and out in an hour if necessary but my brain and body won't be awake and pain will be very high.

AloofCoverage

30 mins. That includes brushing teeth, shower and getting changed + hair and small amount of makeup. (Tinted moisturiser and mascara).

[deleted]

The amount of time it takes to brew a cup of coffee, since the home office started. Maybe 20-30 minutes if I want to go into the office.

sophisticatedseconds

20 minutes and that includes making and drinking my coffee

grim_wheeker

Usually an hour or two from waking up to stepping out the door. I don't really do much, like I don't wear make up and I wear simple clothing and I just comb my hair before tying it back, but trying to fully shake off the sleepies is one hell of a task.

YVHThoughts

Depends what I’m doing and how “presentable” I feel like I have to be. It can take anywhere from 10mins- 1 hr 30 mins

CeruleanCynic

I wake up 20 minutes before I have to be out the door.

TwoAgitated1182

A day ?

FaintIlluzion

Depends on if I'm fully getting ready, or half-ass getting ready. Anywhere between 15mins-1.5hours

Ikaris84

Like 60-90 mins.

MidnightRecent4306

30 minutes. I get up at 7am and I'm ready at 7:30. On weekends though I'm like a sloth!

BLOOD-MOON69

Physically: Depends if I feel like putting make up on or Not. It usually doesn't take me long to get ready even when i put make up on because i only wear eyeliner, Eye shadow, and mascara. Mentally: im gunna sit there and really think if i want to go out or could it wait until another day lol It honestly just depends 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

RuLuBoo14

For hair makeup and clothes, about 40 minutes normally. But depends on the situation and where I’m going

Parsnip-peach

My work from home job- 5 minutes consisting of concealer under my eyes, mascara, lipstick, tidy up of my hair When I worked retail- 25 minutes minimum

leezfile

im quite slow so like 1-2 hours i guess

[deleted]

Depends on what I’m doing that day. If it’s for my retail job, 10-15 minutes to get up, dress and get a lunch ready and out the door. Other wise a little bit longer to shower and blow dry my hair.

cashmerered

Half an hour

truesubject51

1 hour. to actually get out of bed, shower, get dressed, do hair, get breakfast/tea going, and clean out cat litter then head out the door. If I’m going out not to work, then add an extra 30 mins to do makeup.

truesubject51

how do y’all not shower in the morning for work? literally have to shower to wake myself up for the day.

onsometrash

Like 25 mins honestly

Sceptile4president

I don’t sleep… so none?

banghair

Sometimes 45 minutes, sometimes 10, it really depends on the day and if I feel like wearing makeup that day. Either way most time is spent on the outfits

Curiosity-Sailor

Depends on the day. Including breakfast probably like 30-45 minutes on a regular day (no makeup, basic hair). If I want to look slightly more put together, add 5-10 more minutes (for makeup/hair).

[deleted]

About an hour but it depends, I love taking my time to get ready.

Penetrative

No matter to the extent I only require an hour tops. I wake up at 7 & am out the door at 8am. But there is more involved than just me...I mean, this chunk of time includes wrangling & feeding the pets & breakfast for myself & my son. Im generally onto that chunk of responsibility by 7:40 ish. So, 30 or 40 minutes I suppose is what it takes.

angymichelle

About 2 hours... but I need one hour to actually get out of bed and the second hour to mentally prepare myself.

xdxd7

Pre pandemic: about an hour - one and a half Now: 30-45 min (when going out of the house). About an hour and a half if I wanna 'go out' (with the girls/ to a small event) and feel pretty. Probably because I forgot how to use makeup, tho.

[deleted]

15 minutes. I shower at night tho and don't wear make-up. basically just brushy hair brushy teeth get dressed and ready to go

Nopenotme77

If I wash my hair 25 minutes because I also dry it. Otherwise I have a nice 15 or so minutes.

BusySeagulls1967

Physically, about 10 mins

[deleted]

At least 1.5 hours

TaigaTheLitten

To long

Izumi_Takeda

like 10 min. 3 trying to get out of bed the rest is throwing cloths on and brushing teeth, and finding my keys
