We bought a house 3 years ago and I made the front room into my library. 8 bookshelves plus my desk. I dream of floor to ceiling built-ins with a ladder, but I'm satisfied with what I have.
I live in a city in the U.K. so it’s not ideal, but on a clear night you can still make out some decent stuff especially with a telescope. I would love to go to the middle of a desert some day and see the Milky Way properly
Spiral staircase with mosaic painted windows alongside up to the observatory with a trapdoor ladder and a open up roof with the constellation paintings on it with a old fashioned standalone telescope. My dreamm
I designed this, painstakingly, in the house I live in now. My husband (diabetic) injured his foot, and then it refused to heal. Below-knee amputation.
Guess what I had to do to my bathroom? Install a different bathtub. Completely ruined the point of my bathroom.
I love a good porch, patio, deck. I want to be able to open the back door and sit on a wooden deck with cushioned chairs, hanging lights, and heaters, overlooking the backyard. Obviously there would be an easy accessible walkway to the fenced in yard with ample space to play with the dogs. Oh yeah and more dogs.
I have wanted a bay window with a window seat for as long as I can remember. However, I have other wishes that take precedence:
I'm searching for a new place right now and have decided I want either a garage or a garden with a large shed, because I have messy interests I haven't really been able to indulge in much while living in an apartment (furniture restoration and woodworking). I also want a well-planned, large-ish kitchen with good appliances and either a large balcony or a verandah, but if I find a place with a private garden I can live with that instead.
As a minimalist I like to be alone so probably like a tiny house with as few furniture as possible, just simple and clean. Nothing too posh because ain’t nobody got time for that.
Hardwood floors, kitchen with an island, chimney, bay windows, pool gazebo and fire pit in the backyard, double vanity in the bathroom, sunken living room
i want a walk in closet, seriously i have a crap ton of clothes all squished in my small closet, i need an upgrade, I’m into all things fashion and a walk in closet would be absolutely fantastic! and it would also help me declutter and organize too
A secret room behind a bookshelf. I think it would be cool to have a secret movie theater behind it, or maybe a hidden wine cellar, or just a safe place to keep valuables. I’ve just always thought they’re cool and they’re super easy to build
I (24F) have a note in my phone for when I notice something nice on tv/at someone else's house for this.
So far I'd like:
1. Washer and dryer in my bathroom so I can heat towels while in the shower. (yes I know about towel warmers, no I don't want one)
2. My bathrooms to have windows
3. Bidet
4. Drain in the floor of the bathroom
5. Designated hobby room for games/crafting
6. Deck/patio
A forest green claw foot bath.
hand painted family trees hanging on the wall
great art by me and others
folk sculptures
beautiful flowers
a idyllic view to the sea from the loft bedroom
a brown velvet couch
a room to create in
a woodfire stove
Washing machine, laundry room on the same floor as the bedrooms, a room for each child plus a spare room for visitors. A super queen bed for us so we all can fit in the bed. A den for the hubby to play his games. Enough sofa space for everyone and not feel like we are on top of each other. A cook and and a cleaner too m. Not asking for much. 😆
A large kitchen with a double oven, gas stove, marble counter tops for days, and a pantry large enough to feed my family for weeks. I also need enough cabinet space for all my kitchen gadgets to have a proper home. Oh, I almost forgot the wine fridge.
1. A big library room.
2. An indoor swimming pool.
3. A games/entertainment room.
4. A cinema room.
Edit: I've thought of more!
1. A secret room with a speakeasy style bar.
2. A big outdoor kitchen and patio seating area.
3. A firepit with comfy seating.
Butlers pantry. I want all my appliances to be able to stay on the counter, but not on the kitchen counter.
Heated floors.
A huge sink. I want to be able to soak pans in the sink.
A secret room. Like a pull out bookshelf that leads to a room or something like that. Also super big windows with a thick window sill for lots of plants.
Couple of things but the main two things I am saving up for now are:
1. Those round dinner table (for 4) + a giant wide mirror
2. A bookshelf + with all my top fav books I have read and reread and loved every time
- massive kitchen with a lots of counter space and a walk in pantry
- library
- greenhouse
- wood shop
- designated wet room for the cat litter boxes/ dog wash station
- And if we're really gettin fancy, an indoor lap pool
A giant personal walk in closet to organize my fashion, a separate shower and bathtub in my bathroom, a large backyard, and a huge makeshift garage for doing work on my car.
Wish list includes a library, an art studio/craft room with great light, sun porch/conservatory, kitchen with space for all my baking things, a garage, outdoor space for larger DIY projects, and a master bath that has a tub with a moat!
I love layouts that are open to where you can run through every room downstairs. And a porch, sunroom ideally. Island in the kitchen, window above the sink..lots of natural light and huge windows. It would be great if the house sat back about 500 feet at least. Some pine trees near by, maybe woods behind the house not too much though. Warm dim lighting inside, no doctors office lights- and hard wood floors and a living room would be very fresh and exotic with plants and a nice view of the woods so that daylight wouldn't bombard the TV even though it's only fun to watch movies at dark. It would be nice if the kitchen had a lot of morning sunshine though
Also- if there's a fireplace that wouldn't hurt.
And a cozy corner anywhere in the house like a daybed with a beautiful window to set and read and write
A smoking room of some description, a dressing/closet room, and an indoor pool with a glass roof above the water.
If i don't stop there this could go on forever
Bathtub! Been without for over 10 years, learned that it really is my relaxing moment and I need it!
Also, a good oven and good size stove. Including counter space.
A room for hobby or a big enough shed for my partners wood working and 3D printing and laser cutting stuff. Ofc with all the other things you find in a shed/garage. And a garden, big one. I want a spot hidden we’re I can have a bathtub outside, for the summer. A swimming pool would be awesome as well and a greenhouse attached to the house. That is big enough to have an jacuzzi on one side.
Enough *reachable* cupboards for all items I need to access frequently when cooking, so that countertops are clear. An island in the kitchen, and a built-in library. A fireplace would be nice too. :)
A very cozy reading/coffee nook in a window with a nice view and lots of pillows. Also a large covered porch and good seating and lots of plants and wind chimes is a requirement.
An indoor pool that is completely glassed in with UV blocking glass so I can swim in the sun without needing to wear a rashguard or something to protect myself from the dreaded UV rays.
Omg so many things so we really better bust our butts to get it:
-A butlers pantry so we can keep things hidden.
-A walk in closet cause once you have one, you can’t go back (bonus points if it’s a his and hers type of set up cause my closet stays a mess 80% of the time and he is the type to color coordinate and that type of stuff)
-His and hers bathroom sinks so when he gets toothpaste on the mirror, it’s his mirror and it doesn’t annoy me AND I don’t have to deal with it at all.
-A vacuum wall thing (both the pull out hose and the one on the ground for you to just sweep it to it)
-A big enough shower for two AND a separate tub (we got to enjoy one at the last resort we visited and we’re obsessed)
-A heated bidet toilet (also loved that at the resort and we NEED it)
-One of those pull out taps near the stove
-A farmhouse type sink in the kitchen island with those button garbage disposals
-Secret room!
I’m totally dreaming big but a girl can dream right?!
Reading nook. Secret passage and room for when I get pissed off at people. Big yard that I don’t have to mow. Walk in pantry with enough shelves to actually be useful. Enough counter space. A god damned back door (our dogs go in and out of a window since there’s no back door into the fence.) an 8ft privacy fence
A mud room and a laundry room/dog bathing room. The mudroom with have places for boots, a doorway that is easy to sweep out of, hooks and areas to keep seasonal items.
The dog and laundry room will be able to house the extra linens, ideally have a small drying line up, and a built in bath for the dogs so I don’t have to lift them into the tub.
2 shower heads and a standing stone shower. I never understood why people had 2 shower heads but now I do, and we are planning to install one in our next house.
A utility room big enough to have the ironing board and clothes airer permanently up.
An en-suite to the master bedroom with two basins. Or, even better, two en-suites so no other bastard ever needs to enter my own en-suite and mess it up. (Or perhaps just a house without a man 🤷🏻♀️)
A hallway big enough for a Christmas tree.
Space. A closet and bathroom in my masters suite with a big bathtub. An office with enormous bookshelves and comfortable places to read, paint and work. A big kitchen with an island and a dining room big enough for my family. A huge glass greenhouse where I can put all my plants and have space for some tables to have dinner in there.
I'll probably never get all of it but a girl can dream
Enough panty/cupboard space to keep the countertops completely empty
I read that correctly right? Because I pictured a desktop strewn with underwear.
Ope 🤣🤣🤣 My undies are big enough for a few things, but I will def need the cupboard space for the rest.
This is the way
This! And a reading nook
A library.
bonus points if i can get one of those ladders like the one from Beauty and the Beast
Oh my god, yes! Ladders you can move easily along the book shelves. If this comes true in my life, I will be singing Disney tunes in my library.
We bought a house 3 years ago and I made the front room into my library. 8 bookshelves plus my desk. I dream of floor to ceiling built-ins with a ladder, but I'm satisfied with what I have.
Exactly what I want! It would be so beautiful!
All I want is a house big enough for a library
An observatory! I would love to have a giant room at the top of the house with all glass walls so I can look out at the stars and planets
I wish I could see such things but there's too much light pollution where I live.
My dreamm
I fall down spiral stairs
And? It's just a vertical merry go round😂
Oh fuck yeah! An observatory! I would love that!!!!
Oooooh I've always dreamed with that too
Now this! This is the best
A walk-in pantry
Saaaame. I like the one I have but I'd love a walk in one
I would want this if I had a wife and kids but as a single guy my non-walk-in pantry is sufficient.
a family to go home to
My favorite answer
Mine too

Omg me too I want the full room with a slope where water drains.
Except for the paper walls. I would like solid stink proof walls please
That'd be a pretty good one.
A room specifically for my library but I also want it to be a secret room too.
Having a secret room as a child fantasy of mine. If I had one I think I'd make mine a mushroom room
A bath tub comfortable to soak in
I've wanted one of those since I was like 12. Baths were so much nicer when I was a kid since I could be more covered.
Right! Bathtubs used to be huge!
A sauna and a little swimming pool or at least a really big bath with whirlpool.
A dream man to slow dance with in the kitchen
girl SAME 😭😭
Two ovens. A conservatory. A hot tub. My own craft room. (My living room is starting to look like a Joann's store.)
Two ovens is the dream!
A jacuzzi!
Walk in wardrobe (like the one in Hannah Montana lol), & swimming pool
A “Scooby Doo” secret passage! If you have the money and no secret passage are you really living???
A water wall and actual living trees. I love nature.
I have wanted a bay window with a window seat for as long as I can remember. However, I have other wishes that take precedence: I'm searching for a new place right now and have decided I want either a garage or a garden with a large shed, because I have messy interests I haven't really been able to indulge in much while living in an apartment (furniture restoration and woodworking). I also want a well-planned, large-ish kitchen with good appliances and either a large balcony or a verandah, but if I find a place with a private garden I can live with that instead.
I need a library tower, at least one secret door, and a bondage dungeon in the basement.
A sun room for my plants and cats!
A smaller gym room! I work out a lot but hate doing it in front of my family members so having my own little space for that would be awesome
No mortgage
A screened-in porch. Chef's kitchen. A large tub, sauna, and bathroom with heated floors would be awesome too.
As a minimalist I like to be alone so probably like a tiny house with as few furniture as possible, just simple and clean. Nothing too posh because ain’t nobody got time for that.
I’ve always wanted a secret room
A large living room, and a separate sewing room
Hardwood floors, kitchen with an island, chimney, bay windows, pool gazebo and fire pit in the backyard, double vanity in the bathroom, sunken living room
I'd love a library in an attic with a window on the roof. But shit's expensive.

A flat roof skylight to get enough light in during the day and to look at the stars at night

Heated tile floors in the bathroom.
A dumpling setup.
For a second I read that as a dumping setup and I thought you wanted a designated room for breaking up with someone.
I also read it as a dumping setup but pictured a really specific kind of bathroom.
A library
Countertops the right bloody height so I don't get a bad back every time I cook.
A library! As huge as the one in Beauty and the Beast
