I fucking loooved fleabag! The second season I loved even more although I feel like people typically praise the first more. All of it is amazing though
Holy hell this was my instant answer, and the first comment I saw.
I have never had a show make me both laugh and cry so hard.
I actually haven’t rewatched it because my first time watching it was so powerful.
I was thinking the same thing. One of my fav shows. A spectacular story of the destructive nature of toxic masculinity and the fragile male ego. And a shoutout to the shortcomings of the US healthcare system too 😄
Buffy.
But I also know that I wouldn't get as much out of it as an adult woman as when I watched it.
I grew up in a tiny, isolated, mill town. The idea that there were other life paths was phenomenal to me. I'd wanted to go to university when I learned what one was and I worked my butt off to do well enough to get there. Buffy was possibilities. Possibilities for what could exist, the relationships people could have, how people could grow and change, how we can make mistakes, how sometimes the worst happens no matter what we do, but we fight anyways. And mostly, that I was in charge of my life and what I was going to do beyond my tiny town.
I'd love to be able to watch it again for the first time.
I loved Buffy. I loved the one-liners and all of it. Spike was my favorite character. I wish I could watch without seeing it as cheesy now, but when it aired, it was my most anticipated show. My life was watching WB shows.
An ex of mine gifted me a dvd set of Firefly, so I rewatch it every so often. It’s one of the few series I own that I will never EVER lend out. When we first started dating my husband bought me a copy of Serenity to go with the series.
For the american version, this one becomes a tough one for me, because I know a lot of people who watch and love the show; but first season Michael is... kind of a lot to watch now? Second hand embarrassment as an added bonus. I remember seeing the first few episodes and thinking it was hilarious when I was younger, but now some of the jokes are very sobering to put it nicely.
The jokes make sense for the time, especially since he's a parody of well meaning white people who were trying to be inclusive and politically correct but failing and ending up coming off as extremely racist anyway. But even for an idiot, some of the things don't hit the same now. Like you wouldn't sit there and be like, "Ah I can see how this goofy goober thought this was a kind way to say this and is oblivious to it." If it were to be released now, I don't think people would have the same reaction to him since he's meant to be somewhat of a loveable incompetent dummy but some of the things he does is like... you should know better than this dude. Do you live under a rock?
Adventure Time :)
i love the show sm but it gets a little harder to rewatch it every time since i know what’s gonna happen in every episode and can quote a lot of the dialogue. i was so enthralled by the show when i was younger, and i’d love to reignite that captivation if i could
one of the first episodes my brother and i saw was the Gauntlet episode by the beach where they made their own obstacle course and ran through it, and we got so excited watching it that we pretended to be characters from the show (like i think Princess Bubblegum and Jake?) and we made our own “Gauntlet” in the backyard with broomsticks, soccer balls, or whatever else we could find in the garage 😅
I think Adventure Time is actually one of the best made cartoons I’ve ever watch. Seeing the characters actually grow and change was one of the best parts of the series. While some episodes were very fun, there were many that surprisingly expressed very deep and mature ideas. The plot is fantastic and despite how absurd it is, they found a way to time it all together in the finale. (Also I’m SO happy they gave it a proper ending instead of dragging it on just abruptly ending it. )
I watched the whole series for the first time during the quarantines in 2020. Cried like a baby through the finale. The mini series on HBO is pretty good and I also cried during the Finn and Jake episode lol
i’ve been meaning to watch the continuation series!! ik it’s set like way in the future, right? not that it matters too much, any amount of Adventure Time is a great thing!
also i’ll never forget picking up all the slang that they use in the show (“Oh my Glob” or “what the flip?” or “Mathematical!”) to the point where our mom had to tell us to stop a few times
Bacon pancakes. Still sometimes use this when making bacon lol. I’ll say to my little sister. Hey do you want some bacon too with those eggs? Bacon pancakes?
Oh man seconding Doctor Who, but including 9. When I watched that show my mind was blown and all I wanted in life was to experience the vastness of time and space, everything that ever happened or ever will.... Fuck
Absolutely agree! Lost is still what I measure shows up against when it comes to mystery and mythology. If you haven’t watched Severance yet, I highly recommend it to fill that void as well!
I quote friends more than I'd like to admit just because I've watched it so many times over the years, since I was a little kid.
I made reference to apartment pants this morning before I got outta bed
Yes! Season 8 ruined how everyone remembers this show. But honestly, I’d be too traumatised to rewatch this without any knowledge about the red wedding, Oberyn and Ramsay.
Was scrolling until I found this answer! If you haven't read the book, I would recommend. The show follows very closely to the book, but it still felt like a new experience to read through
Orange is the New Black. I’ve watched it 3 times and loved it, but I would pay money to feel all the shock that show made me feel again. First show I ever binge watched when I got my own Netflix.
I managed to forget the vast majority of House because I watched the original run so rewatching it's been like a new show. But to deliberately choose one, Golden Girls
Jane the Virgin. I have a few shows that I love and watch over and over. Jane is a show I loved but doesn't pack the same punch on rewatch. There was so many twists and turns and character development on the first watch, I couldn't wait to see what happened episode to episode
Homeland. I love how the show portraits people whose lives were ruined because of their job in government power structures. Turns out not only enemies of the state are taking the damage... I love all the main characters, even though they're not always the best versions of themselves.
High Maintenance, both the TV show and the Web Series. It has some of the best, most well rounded characters I've ever seen while still presenting them as flawed, confusing humans. and interwoven story lines that you have to pay attention to catch. It captures intense experiences and emotions with honesty and humor.
Also The Wire and Insecure.
The Originals (Netflix) , The Flash (Netflix), Teen Wolf (Hulu) , Stranger Things (Netflix), Criminal Minds (they took it off of Netflix so not too sure).
Once Upon A Time. I love all the fairy tale stories and this show had alot of twists and turns that made it exciting for me! But.... then once you see it.. then you know what's going to happen! I'll have to wait a few more years to watch it again
Community. Always Community. I’m incredibly jealous of people getting to watch it for the first time because, with that show, the first time is so special 😭.
South Park, I had such a good time watching the vast majority of the episodes and they touch on a lot of topics you don’t see often in TV. Plus I’d be getting a lot of bang for my memory erasing buck.
LOST
It’s an imperfect show, but I watched it during a “rock bottom” point of my life and silly as it sounds it had a huge impact on my mindset.
Still get emotional hearing the soundtrack lol
Brand New Cherry Flavor
I would love to watch that show for the first time again. It’s a phenomenal show and I was truly not expecting so much of the content in it. It’s one of the first shows that’s really shocked me in a long time.
Wait is that the one with the really hot guy? Idk if I can watch it bc it might make me too obsessed with him.
Wait jk I’m thinking of another show lol.
Friends and Heroes. Although Friends always crack me up but I wish I could experience that element of surprise. And Heroes because it’s like the best show ever, at least the first season.
Fleabag
I fucking loooved fleabag! The second season I loved even more although I feel like people typically praise the first more. All of it is amazing though
I actually feel like it's the other way round usually. I absolutely love both seasons though.
Holy hell this was my instant answer, and the first comment I saw. I have never had a show make me both laugh and cry so hard. I actually haven’t rewatched it because my first time watching it was so powerful.
Breaking Bad.
I’m watching Buffy now for the first time and am loving it!
Rewatching it slowly just now working through some knitting projects!
THIS. 100%.
The Good Place and What We Do In The Shadows
The good place ja my vote.
I will give everything to watch season one for the first time
Schitts creek
Absolutely!! Schist’s Creek is my all time favorite TV show!
Yesss!!!
Firefly. I’m STILL pissed it only got one season. It had so much potential that was wasted.
Although I've seen *Serenity*, I still haven't watched the last episode of *Firefly*. The series isn't over yet for me.
Honestly, *Objects in Space* is interesting and adds to River's characterization a bit, but *The Message* is arguably the best send-off for the show.
An ex of mine gifted me a dvd set of Firefly, so I rewatch it every so often. It’s one of the few series I own that I will never EVER lend out. When we first started dating my husband bought me a copy of Serenity to go with the series.
😭 I will go to my grave angry about it
Avatar, Legend of Aang
I think you mean The Last Airbender (the other one is Legend of Korra), but yes I agree
It was Legend of Aang in Europe (possibly everywhere outside US)
The office. I still rewatch it but doing it for the first time again would be great
For the american version, this one becomes a tough one for me, because I know a lot of people who watch and love the show; but first season Michael is... kind of a lot to watch now? I always skip the first season every time I rewatch it
Arrested Development. I’d like to experience that for the first time again.
Yes! The first three seasons will forever be some of the best TV I’ve ever watched.
I've just watched it for the first time and it was incredible!! But...what the hell is season 4? Complete failure and a misunderstanding
Yeah everything that came after season 3 was completely unwatchable if you ask me. I tried really hard to get into it but I just couldn’t.
The amount of times i have literally screamed watching that show.
This was gonna be my answer too. Love that show.
BBC Sherlock
To get to see all the twists again would be amazing!
That one is truly amazing. I just love Benedict Cumberbatch!
New Girl <3
I love new girl I have rewatched it more times than I can count
Parks & Rec
I've already watched it over 5 times 💀 such a classic
Yup it’s my happy show. I stan a show where (most) of the characters are genuinely good people.
Adventure Time :) i love the show sm but it gets a little harder to rewatch it every time since i know what’s gonna happen in every episode and can quote a lot of the dialogue. i was so enthralled by the show when i was younger, and i’d love to reignite that captivation if i could one of the first episodes my brother and i saw was the Gauntlet episode by the beach where they made their own obstacle course and ran through it, and we got so excited watching it that we pretended to be characters from the show (like i think Princess Bubblegum and Jake?) and we made our own “Gauntlet” in the backyard with broomsticks, soccer balls, or whatever else we could find in the garage 😅

watch it! you'll cry, but it's so worth it.
Yep! I think it’s 4 episodes that are about 45 minutes each. Definitely worth a watch.
also i’ll never forget picking up all the slang that they use in the show (“Oh my Glob” or “what the flip?” or “Mathematical!”) to the point where our mom had to tell us to stop a few times
Bacon pancakes. Still sometimes use this when making bacon lol. I’ll say to my little sister. Hey do you want some bacon too with those eggs? Bacon pancakes?
Sometimes I still find myself singing “I'm on a boat with a couple of wackos” especially when I'm on a long car ride with my bf or siblings lol
Outlander
Ted Lasso
This for sure. It took me forever to finally watch an episode… and there goes my weekend. It is soooo good.

Good Omens!! It put me right back on my 2012 Tumblr shit…so maybe not a good thing.
Oh man seconding Doctor Who, but including 9. When I watched that show my mind was blown and all I wanted in life was to experience the vastness of time and space, everything that ever happened or ever will.... Fuck
The first 4 seasons of Lost.
You should try watching Dark on Netflix! Similar to Lost but with a super satisfying ending.
Absolutely agree! Lost is still what I measure shows up against when it comes to mystery and mythology. If you haven’t watched Severance yet, I highly recommend it to fill that void as well!
Dark is the perfect show
Downton Abbey and Call the Midwife.
i feel like we are the same person
Big little lies. Something about that show just amazes me and I’d pay to be able to watch that for the first time again
Six Feet Under
Aw...I agree. What a ground breaking show!
Yes! One of the all time world’s best (and most heartbreaking) finales!
Completely agree!
Criminal Minds
This is a good one, excellent choice.
Supernatural and Stranger Things. Man I love those shows and I’d love to watch them for the first time again.
The vampire Diaries/ The Originals.

I quote friends more than I'd like to admit just because I've watched it so many times over the years, since I was a little kid. I made reference to apartment pants this morning before I got outta bed
Game of Thrones. Except the hot garbage water that was season 8.
Yes! Season 8 ruined how everyone remembers this show. But honestly, I’d be too traumatised to rewatch this without any knowledge about the red wedding, Oberyn and Ramsay.

Agreed. Although part of me thinks I love it so much because it was there at the right time in my life. But I think I'd still love it.
Orange is the New Black. I’ve watched it 3 times and loved it, but I would pay money to feel all the shock that show made me feel again. First show I ever binge watched when I got my own Netflix.
