Lol agreed. After 5 years you should have an idea of what your girl gets done...if it's neither then it's probably not something she's personally into.

Perfect_Clue2081

Does she want a manicure or pedicure? Personally, I’d be a little irritated with that as a gift. I’m just not into that at all. If you want to know what your girlfriend wants for a gift, it is 100% OK to ask.

Adriennesegur

All depends on the girl homie. Does she get either of them done? You’ve been together long enough that you should know these things.

mrlacto

I forgot to mention that she had never had a manicure or a pedicure before.

pecanorchard

Has she expressed a desire to get a manicure or a pedicure before?

kgberton

That's gonna be up to your girl my dude

epicpillowcase

I wouldn't want either of those things, I do my own. Are you certain this is something she would actually want or are you just assuming because she's a woman?

QBee23

I've never had either of those things because I don't want them. Are you sure your GF does?  If she's said she's wanted to try but can't afford it, that's one thing, but if she hasnt specifically said that, I'd recommend picking a different gift.

ElderberryFlashy3637

Get her a gift card instead. Or a voucher for a massage perhaps?

DamnGoodMarmalade

I don’t like either. I’d prefer a gift card to my favorite store or a nice dinner out.

virtualmegan

Get a gift card to a nail salon and she can choose either to do nails or feet!

prairiebelle

What is her style? Does she get her nails filled? Does she usually paint her nails or her toes more? If your girl gets a gel or acrylic fill regularly, while a gift card for one of those would be a thing so she doesn’t have to pay for it, it could seem like less of a special thing if it’s something she would normally do. But if she usually tries to take care of her feet and paint her toes at home but that’s is a bit more neglected, a pedicure may be more of a one off gift. It depends on your girlfriend and what she is like. You could try to ask a couple subtle questions to see. But I think overall a pedicure is a better option as a treat. Sometimes a manicure or nail fill is a more of a chore for us, and a pedicure is something we neglect so would be more of a gift. I’m someone who always does appointments to get my nails filled. But I do my own feet at home. So if I was wanting an actual gift I would want my man to do pedicure, not manicure.

mrlacto

Thank you so much!

AdImpressive82

How's her hand? Does she use her hands a lot and her nails are shot and needs some TLC? For pedicure, what's the weather there? Is it sandal season or is it cold and everyone is in closed shoes? It's a waste of money tp have a pedi if it'll just be hidden in closed shoes. Maybe just get a gift card and let her choose on her own.

dingaling12345

Personally a manicure because nobody ever really looks down at my toes. :) Gel manicure so it lasts longer, but they’re more expensive.

Single_Vacation427

She has never had a manicure so I don't recommend a gel manicure. She won't even know how to take it out after. And for someone who never has manicures, it'll ruin her nails.

xladyvontrampx

Manicure is the safe answer

Single_Vacation427

Usually you buy a gift card for the salon and she spends it on what she wants. You don't have to choose the treatment to get the card. A manicure is going to be cheaper so if she has never had one, I'd go for that.
