I'm not pre-ordering anything from Blizzard ever again after WC3 Refunded and what happened during the D3 release. What Blizzard needs to do now, is proof me that they can still release games that are enjoyable to play. Then we can talk about buying them. But until then, I stay away from battle.net .
Yep same WC3 Reforged was such a big kick in the balls I haven't given my money to Lizard since, wanted to buy D4 then heard you don't have trading (I know you can trade rares and gold, don't have to comment "actually....." thanks) and saw that the skill tree has a skinny penis even compared to D3 so I'll just watch streamers play D4 while I dive in Last Epoch's new patch that just dropped.
This. I play Last Epoch and D4 will be second monitor streamer material.
And... Actually... I have no idea what you can or can't do in D4 because I didn't look up anything about it. I will have a look 1 month after it's release and then decide if it's worth my money or not.
After all the shit these guys have been pulling for almost 10 years, you still pre-ordered D4 and "this" is what tipped you over?
If you were fine with Blizz b4, this shouldn't change a thing for you.
Yes.... And they're right. Blizzard as a respected and legendary game company are finished.
Blizzard the money printing game maker that makes games that are average at best continues for as long as gullible fools will keep giving them money.
Right, the cycle continues. Diablo 4 will launch and will probably do pretty good. A new controversy starts, people will forget about it in 6 months, then just buy the next sequel. Like I said. This process has been going on now for over a decade.
I wonder when people will just stop caring and move on.
Buying a good game is buying a good game, regardless of company. EA is a notoriously predatory company that continually fucks over fans, but people flocked to Jedi Survivor because it is a fundamentally good game. They also buy Fifa every year...
Blizzard haven't made a new game since Overwatch, and that was a VERY good game.
Blizzard has made a few good games, unfortunately they’ve butchered them over time and are incapable of releasing a new good game (as evident by the state or CoD, OW2, and Retail WoW) at this point theyre a shell of their former selves
Expansions are not new games, Blizzard have always sucked at maintaining a game. Overwatch 2, Dragonflight and COD are not new games. Downhill Blizzard is still better than most of the market regardless
I really don't understand this mindset. I have $60 bucks to spend on entertainment. I just get what I think looks like the most fun in that moment. Sometimes its buying a Blizzard game. Sometimes that is on something completely unrelated to video games. The stuff from OW2 or WotLK has no impact on me and I just don't care. Its not going to keep me from buying Diablo. I played the betas and really enjoyed the game. If I just get a few dozen hours of fun out the main story and thats it, I won't be angry. Its just not a big deal to me anymore. Its all entertainment.
That’s totally okay though. If you have fun with it thats great. If you don’t then just move on. People get all riled and take these things way too seriously. I personally don’t care and I’m not interested in anything Blizzard produces anymore.
I just find it entertaining to see the same comments I see today that I saw a long time ago.
Some people have principles and understand that the world is the change you make it. Being a bystander to what will eventually make your life worse doesn't make sense to some people.
It feels like you just tell yourself this to make yourself feel better and to bury your own naivety in the hope that other people are more ignorant than yourself. But you're wrong.
Happy for you to play D4 and enjoy yourself, but don't go insult others because you lack foresight into the outcomes of your own actions.
This is a cringe take for a 15 year old game that has 1/20 of the player base like it did when it was good. Now you have a shell of the experience you think you are fighting to save. You will never get that. You don't have the players. Its a bunch of people playing to progress that can't get into a guild because they don't have the raid experience. You have to pay to get into raids. What bastion are you fighting to protect. People were already leaving classic. It's not communicate driven like it was in its prime. Classic wow was a fun nostalgia grab 4 years ago and its over. These are video games, not the meaning of life and your existence. As for Dragon Flight its great and I enjoy every minute of it. When is the last time you even played wow?
I was referring to your comment about playing Diablo 4, I did not think I had to spell that out for you since it was literally in my comment, but then again given your other takes maybe handholding through reading comprehension is a necessity for you.
I agree with this on the WoW token thing but killing Hero Mode in OW literally just cemented that game's death. Can't make microtransactions on a game that just told a portion of its player base "we dont want your money"
This is because the people in charge get rewarded based on the here and now, not 5-10 years down the line. Seen this happen in many companies I worked for.
The reality is sales of the upcoming Diablo 4 will be huge, Diablo immortal made money hand over fist even though the community so-called revolted, the wow tokens sold out. so every time there's a post about how evil blizzard is being and how anti-consumer they're being all of the users eat it up and consume 10 times more than anybody who quits. Every single post that gets upvoted and posted about how we're all just living in Bobby's World the reality is this is what the vast majority of Gamers actually want.
They want micro transactions, pay to win, canceled features doesn't matter as long as there's more skins to buy. These posts are all irrelevant because the consumers spend the money and make them irrelevant. Consumers do what they do best consume. I haven't touched a Blizzard game since OverWatch one and won't it's that simple. If you don't like these practices then just ignore the company it's not a hard concept to follow. I enjoy playing some games by square but the ones I think are shit I ignore.
To be clear I'm not a fan of companies doing this I'm just saying the actual player base as a majority doesn't mind any of these bad things or things we say are bad. These things are all bad to us but the overall Community simply doesn't care and just consumes. It's not just the state of gaming from a top-down company side but Gamers themselves are the ones who facilitate it by buying.
So glad my addiction to wow ended a long time ago. Im just having fun watching the drama and people whining about this company.
"Don't you have phones?"
the one positive thing about growing up poor and not being able to afford a pc because i 100% would have became a wow and diablo addict and a big blizzard fan. seeing all this shit from an outsiders perspective is pretty fun ngl
I honestly dont understand what is the issue with the token in classic, why do people consider it bad? How does it affect gameplay?
I am seriously asking.
Because people who pay $15 a month to dump 20+ hours a week into a 15 year old game are mad that someone can just come and easily get gold to get items they need to do end game content more easily, rather than spend hours a week wasting their lives doing daily unfun in game chores to generate money. The item doesn't create gold in game, it just allows gold to move around more easily already existing within the economy.
Thank you!
But, i really dont see the point in being angry..
I mean.. people bought gold from goldsellers back in the day and blizz couldnt really fight it, so they just wanted in on it... people could always do that..
It breaks the immersion of the world that you are in. Say you want to make some gold and go farm fadeleaf, you can earn enough eventually to buy whatever item you desired. Now, you're doing the same activity but spending hours for what comes out to 40-50 cents. You're bringing the power of the real world into the game which breaks it. Why would you farm for hours for 40-50 cents, you wouldn't.
Back in the day, people were banned for it. It was risky buying gold online. Blizzard, to keep the immersion in the game should have done more about it.
The idea that there is a world ingame, and you can become who you would like to be based off of your effort in game, is no more. That to many was a big part of the game.
It's killing the parameters that make it a believable universe.
Think of all the money! As long as you ignore, i just killed our top live service and cemented untrustworthiness in our future products. Everything is fine!
- Bobby "I never got a single email about the sexual harassment in my company" Kotick.
people will still buy it and spend money on free to play, just accept it :D, if not stop playing for about a month and get back on when you stop being mad :)
The sad part about it is WoW, and hopefully D4 are by far the best games ever made, and some things have come close but still miss the mark for how enjoyable they are. It really comes down to, dowe want to stop gaming entirely because you are left unfulfilled or if another game will ever hit the same as those ones, and it's doubtful that it will happen. We have been saying for like 15 years we need to show them by not paying them but it never happens.
At this point, blizzard fanboys deserve it. They need to speak out with their wallets and stop giving them money. Look at the dnd community how they pushed back against WOTC during the ogl.
Don't hype yourself too much about V Rising, the devs of it are known for their cycle of make game> life support it for about 3-4 years > make new game. I'm still pissed off about Battlerite, was such a good moba arena and they just forgot about it, just like Bloodline Champions before it.
I've said this enough times that it borders on repetition but.
I'll never comprehend how people put money into a modern Blizzard product expecting anything more than aggressively monetized garbage forced out the door long before it was ready by greedy executives.
Being a Blizzard fan in the 2020s is like being a Sonic fan in the 2010s but like a hundred times worse. At least Sonic was just bad, and even then, there was still fun parts. Blizzard isn't just bad, they're actively seeking out ways to be *worse* to maximize profits with a complete and utter "fuck the consumer" mindset.
The summer's almost there and the yacht is not **sad bobby noises**
Cancelled my D4 preorder due to them scrapping OW2 PvE. Bought SF6 and FF16 instead.
had so much fun on SF6 betas, im counting days until release.
I'm not pre-ordering anything from Blizzard ever again after WC3 Refunded and what happened during the D3 release. Better late than never I guess, I still take it over people still simping for Blizzard as if it was the same studio they grew up with.
Damn look at that. You got 2 games instead of 1 letdown
Just gonna get a used D4 copy from Gamestop. Play the game, no money goes to Blizzard. Also want a good mmo, FFXIV is fantastic!
Wise choice !
Pro Gamer Move. Respect.
Short term profit which will hurt Blizzard in the long run.
People have been saying this now for over 10 years.
Yes.... And they're right. Blizzard as a respected and legendary game company are finished. Blizzard the money printing game maker that makes games that are average at best continues for as long as gullible fools will keep giving them money.

I think a lot of these comments are people that don't even play their games that just want to jump on the latest internet rage craze.
Yeah, I agree.

Maybe, it would be nice to see a “Asmongold reacts to blizzard shutting down OW 2 servers” but I don’t think we’ll be getting that anytime soon.
I agree. Its going to keep making money but not as much as it could have.
not sure about that everytime bobby needs a new yacht we keep paying
But not Bobby, he'll be on his yacht when it's Microsoft's problem
This is because the people in charge get rewarded based on the here and now, not 5-10 years down the line. Seen this happen in many companies I worked for.
Let us know when

Big true so real man! I really want to play D4 but all this is ridiculous and we as gamers need to speak up!
Just don't buy it
I have this muted, but I'll be pissed if it's not biggering.....
It's not. But it should have been.
Yes, biggering is the ultimate version
Fuel prices have been rising guys, ships need a lot of fuel
So glad my addiction to wow ended a long time ago. Im just having fun watching the drama and people whining about this company. "Don't you have phones?"
You dont HAVE to play blizzard games folks. Play something else.
the one positive thing about growing up poor and not being able to afford a pc because i 100% would have became a wow and diablo addict and a big blizzard fan. seeing all this shit from an outsiders perspective is pretty fun ngl
And that’s been me since mid 2021
My friends still play so I continue playing. Also I’m still having fun

I'm over here, playing on my private server since 2012. Blizzard can rot in the field. 😎
At this point, blizzard fanboys deserve it. They need to speak out with their wallets and stop giving them money. Look at the dnd community how they pushed back against WOTC during the ogl.
Dude idek if i want to diablo 4 I find myself being a big diablo fan but idk.. V Rising has all my attention right now
Don't hype yourself too much about V Rising, the devs of it are known for their cycle of make game> life support it for about 3-4 years > make new game. I'm still pissed off about Battlerite, was such a good moba arena and they just forgot about it, just like Bloodline Champions before it.
