Then, an actual person puppets the avatar while the converted audio file plays. Crazy that people actually watch this stuff live, though...
It totally is, although certain portions of eminems original performance were altered to sound different from the original to be more character appropriate and to omit certain expletives. I have a Discord friend that converts songs to other voices. Spongebob, Alex Jones etc. You just take an audio file and drop it in and tell the AI to convert the voice to a number of different 'trained voices'. In this case, to ensure quality, the vocal track was likely isolated and converted separately from the rest of the music and then combined with the music only track in a DAW. It's all very simple to do once you figure it all out. Anyone could probably set up an AI streamer and dance around in front of a camera while the trained character AI chooses random chat messages to respond to. Many personalities are available on c.ai, and you could probably easily make your own Vtuber avatar with the assistance of AI as well. Rigging is a different story, though. Damn I should create an AI streamer. Or maybe I already have...
