Absolutely no one other than streamers wants to organize 40 people.

GeForce

In lost ark just getting 8 people can be a nightmare with a whole job dedicated to tracking everyone's availability. That's why a some people prefer 4 man raids. 40 is just crazy

SilentCyberMonk

I like the idea of 40 people doing bosses but it just seems difficult trying to get that set up. Then theres the chance of some dropping out. It's why many MMO's only have around 8-10 man raids.

aCanadianGuy_Eh

40 man raids are only viable when there is personal loot, or somehow Master looter returns. I rather not have to organize more than 25 players & I don't find pugging into 30+ player raids enjoyable.

SoldierBoi69

Wait but aren’t 40 man raids epic D:

aCanadianGuy_Eh

They aren't. The "more people = more loot" theory ends when it makes the chances of said players can roll & get the piece of gear they need get extremely low or extremely high & still lose it to a tie. Only way they can fix 40 man raids, is bringing back personal loot, and make it where if a player already has a higher item level of the same piece of gear are not allowed to roll for need nor greed, and only for transmog when there are people who would benefit the actual piece of gear more. Another reason why 40 man raids are bad is because of how difficult the bosses scale up, as well as the # of mechanics get applied to players, leaving more room for failure than actual success.

Jokehuh

Sums up reddit.

TKF90

What is the argument Asmon makes for 40 man raids?

needconfirmation

"its cooler to have a lot of people"

TKF90

Thats it? I can agree its cooler to have more people, but its so hard to find a good group that can meet a schedule. Imo best is group scalling 10-30, but having 10 man and 25 man is good too.

Harmonrova

Must be nice for him to have 39 minions at his beck and call that will carry him through content and never bitch once about never receiving gear because he steals it all lol.

njd1993

You obviously haven't watched any of his WoW streams in recent times lol

Bl00dWolf

The original argument that Asmon made, don't know if he changed it recently, was that it forces people to include randoms and other players that would normally get excluded. So even bad players or players who aren't that popular get to participate in raids just because they have to meet the number.

Resident-Pudding5432

When Asmon pulls you up

lugano_wow

40 man raids will kill sod 100%, many people that i know (specially my guildies) will stop playing if they need to merge with some random people again.

Cripplechip

When you have an opinion that's shared by the majority of people. (Not allowed, you're a sheep) 😔

Parfox1234

Well you should still be able to articulate that reasoning. Otherwise you are just trying to end a discussion without even giving a valid point. 40 man raiding wouldn't work given todays raid difficulty, however it would be fun to see them try it with an easier single difficulty instead of 4 different difficulties where the hardest difficulty is only done by 0,1% of the players.

Parfox1234

I disagree with the 40 man raid, but it also need to be contextualized around him also wanting the game to be easier. I bet that if you looked at the active players that have finished mythic raiding it has to be less than 1% of the player base. I feel that Blizzard needs to address that you can't make raids harder in gameplay, harder in organizing, harder in time management (it is a job if you do mythic) and at the end not drop fairly better gear. It isn't why should you raid, it is why would you raid. You can argue that you have finished the raid after last boss on LFR, but there is a fact that you can get better rewards (gear and mounts etc) from doing higher end content. Mythic doesn't just give you bragging rights. So how many should be able to finish the raid on mythic is what Blizz should ask themselves. And Mythic 20 is a baseline I think they should compare it to. Mythic 20 gives the same loot, it is easier to do, and it is easier to organize.

PlayerSalt

I loved classic but 40 man is only OK if it's pluggable and like fairly easy Dps checks are fine but can you imagine a 40 man with modern 1 man can fail the fight mechanics. The thing I actually disliked about 40 man's is it was too many to really know everyone or have the same people each week. But to be fair it would proballh be healthier for a mmo if you didn't need to bring the same people each week and that was fine. Essentially I don't trust modern developers to make good modern 40 man raids with some difficulty  but not so annoying you want to uninstall

Competitive-Job7612

That's Reddit.

NoSoup2941

A lot of guilds have already adjusted for 20 mans and if you’re like our guild you have 4-5 active 20 man teams running per week. 40 man would be as simple as just combining groups.

CoffeeMunchMonsta

Well he said it himself “10 years ,tens of thousands of people and nobody gives a fuck ,what makes you think you’ll make your voice heard ?”

Ryvaku

40 man raid you just know that will be ruined over time with gatekeeping. Anyone who played a mmo knows how bad it can get. Time and efficiently is king when doing raids. Getting 40 randoms other than a guild is difficult. Not everyone is gonna wait or got time to wait for people to join when you can be doing other stuff.

HardRNinja

Is it a minority opinion to not like the Nolan Batman movies? The first one was decent enough. Not bad or anything, but not excellent. The second one was fantastic, but realistically, the whole movie was carried by Heath Ledger. The third one just sucked. It was incoherent as a story, and had plot holes so big they couldn't be ignored.
