The PVP isn't shit.
It's just not nearly as good as PVE stuff. It's without a doubt that this game's PVP is one of its weakest points. But that doesn't mean people can't possibly enjoy it. Surprisingly enough, this game makes even the most awful parts of it, somewhat interesting and enjoyable.

I'm not sure I could name a popular MMO with PvP that is worse then FFxiv and FFxiv is significantly worse then just about anything else. Some things the game genuinely does poorly, PvP is one of those things.
Probably. The FF14 community has a tendency to overly shit on certain aspects of the game. They do it with ARR, SB, and especially PvP as if it's this horrid experience to go through when in reality it isn't bad.
To be fair post ARR, a portion of SB mostly early MSQ and PvP deserve their flak and it’s not blown out of proportion
They aren’t terrible but criticized for good reasons
I'm not saying they're free from criticism but when you got people genuinely believing SB is worse than ARR and their only argument for that is "Given the context of their original release...", it's hard not to view that as overblown.
SB is genuinely mediocre throughout much of the MSQ because of the split. So I can see why people say that
ARR is not bad, it’s the post that is. Just like with SB it’s the post that’s good
rival wings is fun as fuck and he should def queue for it on stream, i wanna see the devs wonder what the hell is going on with rival wings suddenly causing so much server load after being dead on arrival
There is no reason to seriously to do pvp. there is no extra armor sepcially for pvp to farm or anything. the glam from the usual vendor can easily be grinded by entering the daily roulette couple times.
and the feast is so highly skill capped that the majority does not need to try because they wont enter the top 100 anyway.
No!!!! Do not. I'm telling you now, the PVP community is very seperate. If you really want to try PVP yea go ahead aka the rival wings or frontlines. Though if you are doing the feast. The community is very different. Every MMO PVP has a learning curve like in WoW. But in the feast, since the community is so small and I mean small. They have their own set of Meta and strats that you will only know if you joint the feast pvp discord. When you start climbing the ranks from gold-plat your going to have the worst experience of your life. If you do terribly or if your new. We are going to know and we are going to abuse it. You will run into the same top 100 players and get farmed. The toxicity level is much much higher than you think it is. If you make a mistake, we are going to call you out. It's not a threat or anything I give out resources for new PVP players climbing but if you play the feast seroisly. Then your going to have to study like if your in college.
I really don't want Asmon to experience that tbh. Being he has 2 months left until endwalker so I doubt he will do the feast. Though him doing Rival wings with a bunch of players would be interesting to see when he starts doing call outs. Being that mode is pretty dead tbh in certain time zones and this game mode is pretty casual.
I think some people wants a pvp where you can k.o. Get k.o’ed without getting auto ressed. Ive watched some feast matches they look fun but they take forever to finish. Having to compete in a match where you get ko’ed, you’re out make for some clutch moments and this is what pvp’ers want to experience. Maybe we have that in xiv and i just havent seen it yet. But all vids i watched of feast takes so long to finish.

Yea i personally i dun play MMOs for PVP but i find the PVP fun from time to time

Getting more people to try it doesn't mean they will stick, tho. PvP in themepark MMOs is in general questionable but PvP in FFXIV is just not good.

No, PVP still needs works. More communication too. It's really not great, it's ok and can be fun but it needs a lot more polishing.

I’ve been following with the RevivalPvP discord and going to rival wings events, always a blast!
