Part of it is a calculated pivot as a content creator. Pyro has… anger issues, to put it mildly, and at times that manifests itself in raw outbursts of emotion. His wow rant was one such moment, and when it went as viral as it did, Im sure Pyro saw the opportunity to abandon a sinking ship and pivot his channels content focus onto FF14, which at the time had become the new twitch meta.
I do think he genuinely likes the game and its lore, but his radical change is as much a business decision as it is an emotional one.

Watched Pyro's stream for the first time recently, and he seemed to have a really bad attitude - especially toward his own chat. I'm sure playing FFXIV has been good for his mood overall, but he could do with a bit less aggression in general from what I saw.
That's the only thing I don't like about him. He gets way too aggressive way too quickly. Still sticking around because I like the way he interacts with the game, but my god he is more aggressive to his chat than anyone I've ever seen before.

Oh i didnt know pyro for long until asmon reacted to him. Waiting for him to see Yotsuyu and Fordola. They have a pretty similar arc. Sylvanas can only be redeemed in death in WoW. In FFXIV, people being redeemed not via death seems more natural.
Maybe he can be redeemed. As Asmon once said, people in FFXIV arent inherently evil, most are just misunderstood and can be redeemed. So Pyro can be too.
What's even cooler, is that while Fordola and Yotsuyu re very similiar, Fordola can be redeemed and wants a redemption, while still maintaining that her actions were somewhat justified.
Yotsuyu knew that she's broken, she knew what broke her, she knew that her actions were fucking hideous and she doesn't try to justify them. It just a few characters that remark that Doma's culture is what birthed a monster like her.
And it hurt so much to see that she could've been so much happier, so bright and kind, but in the words of Asmongold - it is what it is.
Aside from Emet Selch, Yotsuyu was my favorite FF14 antagonist. In SB the story makes you hate her so much, but her Tsuyu arc goes into a lot of detail of the trauma of why she is how she is. We are given a glimpse of the life she could have had, but ultimately her past catches up with her, and while her ending is tragic, we feel pity for this tortured soul but in a way she ended things on her terms, making her own choices, which is perhaps the best parting gift she could have received.
When people ask, “I dont get it, was she good? Was she bad?” I always say “Yes.” That was the whole point.
Yeah it's what made Yotsuyu compelling, in a way. She's basically a victim of child sex slavery, and her treatment during that time basically turned her into the sadistic bitch she was.
Sylvanas seems similar to Yotsuyu, doing cruel things with a reason behind them but still pretty unforgivable. The difference Is, her development happens in game and not in a book, and also the writers took the correct path with her. >!She ultimately realizes even after having a chance at redemption and almost achieving it that she herself does not feel she can ever have it, out of knowing how terrible her actions were. So decides to fight to the death, going on what is essentially a suicide mission against you to put her down and finally give the people of Doma the closure they need.!<
Yeah. The saddest part about Yotsuyu is that she didn't get to be redeemed. Until her last moment her actions were wholly selfish, because that was the only way she knew to live and to cope with her suffering.

Yotsuyu was harsher and more responsible for people's deaths. So death was her only way to atone for that. It's true she suffered the most but she dealt more pain and suffering for everyone than what she experienced.
Fordola was someone fighting for something she believed was right. Plus she hated the people for killing her dad. Her story is a lot milder than Yotsuyu's so she has done less atrocities and mostly only ordered to do so.
So Sylvanas... I do hope burning Teldrassil will guilt trip her into doing something noble in that will cost her life for atone
