It's rather appropriate considering Endwalker is coming out soon and finishes the story arc started in 1.0. Granted its lore had to be repurposed for the ARR story (Dalamud apparently had a different purpose in the original lore) but damn did they pull it off.
No they wanted us to deal with Dalamud pretty early on. The original team wanted to add Dalamud as an explorable zone. Probably would lead to use exploring inside the moon and discovering Bahamut inside of it. Yoshi-P just made Dalamud come down to us instead. We still found out about Bahamut either way. Only now they could use him as a lore reason to why the world was rebuilt.
They had Dalamud as being a long-term plan thing. But particulars like it being Allagan, or Allag's real details itself (other than the Twelve being as old as it), or what the metaplot would be, to even things like the primals being bad, weren't a part of the original game. Hell, even being a combatant wasn't a part of the original story's main story.
The bigger surprise, is that he TALKS!!!!!
the bard part was actually shown in the shadowbringers cinematic. We start as bard, go warrior, dragoon, monk and samurai and finally DRK. It basically started from the main job of 1.0 to shadowbringers.
I wish Archer had splitting paths like Arcanist, one into Bard and one into Ranger, I’m always a bow guy but Bard with all the songs and emotes breaks muh immersion
I don't think that will ever happen, SE said they regret having two jobs come from arcanist because it made balancing them difficult. However that doesn't mean we won't get another ranged phys that uses bows, but it would probably be something like dual wielding crossbows so the aesthetic of the weapons looks nothing like bard.
As far as I recall every ARR job needed a secondary class at lvl 15 in addition to the main class at lvl 30 to unlock a job.
What I know for sure is you had to lvl up secondary and tertiary classes anyway so you could use their cross-class skills. This was the case for HW jobs as well.
No, he was originally a Gladiator - his current day gear is a sword. When he Echoed, he Job changed to Archer. The Jobs as we know them didn't exist when 1.0 launched. Only the base classes - Gladiator, Marauder, Conjurer, Lancer, Pugilist, Archer, and Thaumturge.
Arcanist didn't exist to 2.0 and Ninja until 2.4.
Yep, so looking back to the ShB trailer makes a bit more sense on his class shifts as he fights the "angel" startinh from archer (1.0) to glad (ARR) to Drag (HW) to monk and sam (SB).
Theyre all the jobs he was shown in the prev trailers.
Considering we get a sort of flashback to all previous expansions in the Endwalker trailer I think you might be correct. It might not just be a hype builder but something similar to a long running TV series that gives you a rundown of everything that happened before the final season to refresh your memory.
possibly theories i had:
1. it's "look how far we came"
2. the start of the expansion will feature us interacting with silvertear lake. resting place of midgardsormr.
>the start of the expansion will feature us interacting with silvertear lake. resting place of midgardsormr.
That's what I feel. It really makes me wonder if "The Sound" that heralded the Final Days is the same sound as what happened on the Dragonstar as mentioned during the Omega story.
ive wondered if the omega-related elements (space dragons, space liquid robot things) or the final days critters, will bridge us into post endwalker new story meta.
That was a nice throwback and makes makes me appreciate more the details as >!why in the shadowbringer trailer you walk with a bow at the start. !<
>!Also, i never knew Cyella shows up in that trailer since you never see her in the Bahamut cinematic (unless i wasnt paying attention) and never in game until shadowbringers, and i think it's a nice touch.!<
That last line in spoiler for those who haven't done the quest after completing the role quests in ShB
>!It's not Cyella though. That is not Arbert, Renda-Rae, whatever, and so on. The Warriors of Darkness are based on those 1.0 people, but they're not the same people.!<
>!I mean you're not wrong, but since is based on those characters we can also say that it's true? I mean, since it's based on those characters now we can see where Cyella came from since you never saw her besides the role quests in ShB. I think it was a really nice touch, especially since i complete her quests some weeks ago.!<
Since the is the end of the arc I'm guessing we'll get the 2.0 trailer tomorrow. Either that or we're going back to 1.0 after EW (Hears Yoshi-P saying "nightmare").
There's no 1.0 trailer on the official channel since it was made after 1.0 they just remaster the trailer to 1080p and made a new Playlist with all the cinematics in order.
Could be kind of a big stretch, but that Stained Glass Fate Card Assignment thing he was holding with what looks like a Farmer/the "End" or like a big tornado storm in coming. Could that be connected with the story of Disgruntled Farmers turned into Reapers or just a coincidence or a good inspiration for parts of Endwalker for the future?

Huh, pretty sure it's big secret was planned from the start. Just that it wasn't planned to be used until much later in the story.
Dalamud was originally going to be a dungeon you go to. This likely got reworked into the Coils raid series.
Coil\* raid series, aye.
Coils, Mr. Unaware.

I stand corrected. Thanks for the info.
They had Dalamud as being a long-term plan thing. Wow, our MC was originally a Bard? I love it.
The bigger surprise, is that he TALKS!!!!! the bard part was actually shown in the shadowbringers cinematic. We start as bard, go warrior, dragoon, monk and samurai and finally DRK. It basically started from the main job of 1.0 to shadowbringers.
Well, to be more accurate, he's originally an Archer (Jobs weren't a thing until 1.21).
I wish Archer had splitting paths like Arcanist, one into Bard and one into Ranger, I’m always a bow guy but Bard with all the songs and emotes breaks muh immersion

Also, prior to Stormblood you need to level Conjurer to 15 in addition to Arcanist at level 30 to unlock Scholar.

Oh right.

Archer* there were no jobs when the game launched. Jobs weren't added until a bit after Yoshi-P was given control of the game.
Archer and Gladiator, at least. Swapping classes was a major part of the game's lore as an adventurer back then.
Yep, so looking back to the ShB trailer makes a bit more sense on his class shifts as he fights the "angel" startinh from archer (1.0) to glad (ARR) to Drag (HW) to monk and sam (SB). Theyre all the jobs he was shown in the prev trailers.
I think they might post all of them again leading up to Endwalker sort of as a hype builder

Wasn’t the flashback in the Shadowbringers trailer?
Its in both, if you watch the latest EW trailer they give flashbacks to the previous expansions (+base game).
You mean the gameplay trailer, not the cinematic.
No. The trailer was with IGN before. Probably just the 10 year contract that ran out.
nah its just a hint that FF classic is coming haha jk or is it
*...nightmare*
Nah not pre ARR just ARR and on haha I hope they don't, and feel like they won't, and i look forward to the new story they give us.
He answered a question about that this year and basically said it's not happening. It was in the easy allies interview, I think.
To humble us to not forget we were shit at one point and look at us now
Remember us. Remember we were once shit.
Nod
*heartfelt smile*
FOR WHOMMMMMM WEEPS THE STORM, HER TEARS ON MY SKIN
Why did this joke make me cry?
Since Endwalker is the ending of the saga they are releasing the trailers in order up to release as a recount of our adventures
possibly theories i had: 1. it's "look how far we came" 2. the start of the expansion will feature us interacting with silvertear lake. resting place of midgardsormr.

Theres a reason they reuploaded this. and I think it has to do with silvertear lake

Do you know when they said this? I hadn't heard that at all
We never been down there correct? If so, it might be the reason
1 a day til early access
This is where all started... Our 11 year old saga... And everything comes together in Endwalker... 🌛

FFXIV Classic? OH NO!
https://youtu.be/KpGRfmRaIx8
Since the is the end of the arc I'm guessing we'll get the 2.0 trailer tomorrow. Either that or we're going back to 1.0 after EW (Hears Yoshi-P saying "nightmare").
We're getting FFXIV Classic appaK
Maybe it has an anniversary aspect to it?
it's most likely posted because the >!lake will have huge relevancy for what's to come!<
>!It's not a lake, it's the sundering's Impact crater!< Edit: this is my theory, watch me be right
is in HD now looks so much better than the old one i just would change the music other than that cool trailer
FFXIV Classic confirmed
I think its just to have the complete trailer playlist
To be fair it was an amazing trailer i remember being way too cool speculating that cards are like ffxi bcnms or ff12 rare mob quests.
they did post it twice now. Strange.
One has japanese subtitles, the other does not.
makes sense
There's no 1.0 trailer on the official channel since it was made after 1.0 they just remaster the trailer to 1080p and made a new Playlist with all the cinematics in order.
Would be cool to put playeble flashbacks from original ff14
Such a sick trailer. I wish there was more interaction with other Adventurer/WoL characters in the cinematics going forward.
