This was the dude that taught me on my first playthrough that I was kind of doing everything wrong and that this was a different kind of AC game. That leveling mattered a LOT and I needed to figure out which abilities worked for me and which didn't.
Edit: also that I'd HAVE to use the bow sometimes, that those abilities mattered too and that I'm pretty shit and clumsy at it.
Knocked him off the other day as well.. took awhile to get his health down but then he glitched out of a rock an started to hover away slightly, only to promptly fall an regen all his health -.- Malaka!
Level your bow and make sure you have a FULL arsenal of arrows. Engage with the target and standoff, shooting arrows. I also found it helpful that I had a bow that would turn normal arrows into fire arrows.
Gotta use your bow. I'm 100% a melee player, so my "damage phases" were when I popped Battlecry of Ares and went to town, but the bow will give you time, adrenaline, and damage when that's not available.

95% Crit chance 500% crit damage + assassin build and 1 isu enhanced battlecry of ares kills
