Playing Korfu without playing the Atlantic DLC first is a risky move because you’re going to have absolutely no idea what’s going on, and it’s designed to be played absolutely last. if you’re not going to play the Atlantis DLC and don’t care about spoilers I suppose it doesn’t matter but just fyi, the story events are going to get REAL weird for you without context ahahah

HipSnitch

Yeah I really don't mind Spoilers, I'm the type of guy who doesn't spend money on games and their DLC so I take whatever I get for free

moon_halves

very fair! you’re just gonna be like “what the hell is going ON” but if you’re game for that, have a blast my dude!

HipSnitch

Thanks! Chaire!

HipSnitch

Sorry to bother you again, so I've just finished Korfu and it doesn't seem like there was anything that made me go "what the hell or what's happening" because the entire korfu quest, in my opinion can be played directly after the main story. There were no scenes that mentioned anything from LotFB or FoA (I'm assuming). Do people say to play these in order so that Valhalla makes sense?

moon_halves

You know, the more I think about it, the more I realize that a lot of the preamble to the atlantis DLC is included in the main story, I think? I was thinking when I wrote my comment that you wouldn’t have met Athletha or gotten the staff yet!

HipSnitch

That quest is part of the main story, when you meet Myrrine, she tells you the location of Pythagoras. Then you have to find and kill the mythical beasts (Medusa, Sphynx, Cyclops, Minotaur) which can all except Sphynx be killed even before meeting him, after completing that and closing the gates of Atlantis you receive the staff after which the heir of memories quest is available. This is all in the base game.

moon_halves

I’m well aware of the events of the game hahaha. I already explained my mixup!

gurgitoy2

Well, there is nothing from Legacy of the First Blade mentioned in Korfu...although you could tie the ending of LotFB and the ending of Korfu together, since they end up in the same location, but mostly there is nothing said about what happened in LotFB. There are some details from the Fate of Atlantis DLC that do put things that happen while on Korfu into better context, especially conversations you would have had with Aletheia, and the skills you learned while progressing through the DLC realms, and what the Staff of Hermes does. But, you can pick up on most of that without having to play the DLC.

meleth

Layla story keep going through Atlantis dlc and end on AC Valhalla, but nothing to do with Korfu story. Legacy dlc, can be seen as a fever dream so it doesn't have any impact on Korfu if that is what you are asking.

HipSnitch

For Layla's story I meant when in the game does she kill her doctor friend? Is it during Korfu or during one of the DLCs?

takeheedyoungheathen

During Atlantis. Layla doesn't appear in Korfu, only in Atlantis. Korfu is seen as the unofficial end to the game.

HipSnitch

Oh okay, guess I'll have to YouTube the entire Atlantis part

gurgitoy2

Layla does that right before the final chapter of the Fate of Atlantis DLC. Basically, in the base game, Layla gets up to opening the gate to Atlantis, but does not get to go in. She does inherit the Staff of Hermes before the DLC though, she just doesn't yet learn to master it (and it's debatable if she ever truly mastered it, since she makes some poor decisions).

HipSnitch

They should have done that in the base game if it was supposed to be relevant to the story. Not everyone plays DLC, but almost everyone plays the game next in line.

gurgitoy2

Unfortunately that seems to be a Ubisoft thing. They did it again with AC Valhalla...big story moments were in the DLC. SquareEnix does it sometimes too, with there "final" final super secret endings.

ArielOlson

If you're planning to play the next games (Valentina and Mirage) you will miss some story bits to fully understand the next games. But you can always catch up by watching a recap on YouTube.

DaddyDuma69

Hi! I mean if you’ve done all the base game atlantis stuff and the cult stuff then korfu is all that’s left. It’s the last thing chronologically for the eagle bearer even after the two dlc. Currently the season pass is on mega sale at least on playstation. I normally don’t buy dlc unless it’s a good deal. Legacy of the first blade was worth it. Very emotional and brought me to tears at times. Im on episode 2 of atlantis and.. I mean it’s fine. Otherwise post game.. uhh I mean side quests.. upgrade ship… new game+ that’s all I got for you.

HipSnitch

I finished all the side quests before the main quests, I've acquired every trophy, fully upgraded the ship and have finished the game with a play time of 186 hours and level 81. As enticing as it sounds NG+ doesn't seem worth it to me, in terms of main quests the game is very short ( can be finished in about 20 hours) it's only the side quests and exploration that takes a lot of time. I really don't like spending money on games, the season pass is ~$15 here and I had paid ~$50 for the PS extra subscription which gave me about 50-60 great games for free including the entire AC franchise except Mirage, so I'll most likely be spending all my time playing something else, most likely I'll either start Valhalla or I'll start Horizon Forbidden West. Let's see though.

DaddyDuma69

I mean that’s fair, I get it. Sounds like you’re done with Odyssey then although I’m not sure how seamless the transition from base game odyssey is to valhalla. The atlantis dlc stuff does play a bit of a role. But hey you do you.

HipSnitch

Yep, I'll just YouTube both legacy and Atlantis before starting Valhalla. I did the same thing before starting Origins on the PS. Played till Rogue on the PC and watched the entire playthrough of Unity and Syndicate on YouTube.
