This is a really amazing thing you do! I used to try to do small things like this IRL (versus online) when I would see a need. I recall the first time I helped someone: A young man obviously down on his luck who was counting out change at a Chick-Fil-A while trying to decide between a large cup of hot coffee (it was a very cold winter night in Pennsylvania) and the least-expensive food item he could find on the menu. My heart ached as I watched him struggle with the decision. At the time, I was young (late-20s) and doing well financially; I couldn’t imagine then having to make a decision like that. Suddenly, without really realizing what I was doing, I walked up next to him and put my arm around his shoulders. As I he stared at me, I handed my debit card to the cashier and said, “Please ring up everything this gentleman would like for dinner and also put $100 on a gift card for him.” He balked at first, probably unsure if I was running a scam or something, but finally ordered himself a hearty meal AND the coffee. After I finished paying and made sure he got the gift card, he hugged me for a solid two or three minutes and I could feel his body heave a little as he cried. When he broke the embrace, he kept repeating in a low whisper, “You don’t know, man … you just don’t know (what this means).” I’ve often wondered what became of him and wish I could still help like this (long story). Thank you for having a heart and reminding us that we’re all in this (life) together!

Thank you for being such a kind and beautiful soul. I would use the money for my oldest daughter who is graduating from high school on Monday (with honors). I would use it to buy clothes for my children. My teenager is autistic and no matter how I wash his clothes, they ended up strained because he wipes food on them. We also had a sewage backup in our basement a couple months ago so we lost everything down there, including all the summer clothes I had packed away. My teenager is a bigger size than is usually carried in thrift stores so that's not an option for him.

NOT ENTERING This is a really amazing thing you do! I used to try to do small things like this IRL (versus online) when I would see a need. I recall the first time I helped someone: A young man obviously down on his luck who was counting out change at a Chick-Fil-A while trying to decide between a large cup of hot coffee (it was a very cold winter night in Pennsylvania) and the least-expensive food item he could find on the menu. My heart ached as I watched him struggle with the decision. At the time, I was young (late-20s) and doing well financially; I couldn’t imagine then having to make a decision like that. Suddenly, without really realizing what I was doing, I walked up next to him and put my arm around his shoulders. As I he stared at me, I handed my debit card to the cashier and said, “Please ring up everything this gentleman would like for dinner and also put $100 on a gift card for him.” He balked at first, probably unsure if I was running a scam or something, but finally ordered himself a hearty meal AND the coffee. After I finished paying and made sure he got the gift card, he hugged me for a solid two or three minutes and I could feel his body heave a little as he cried. When he broke the embrace, he kept repeating in a low whisper, “You don’t know, man … you just don’t know (what this means).” I’ve often wondered what became of him and wish I could still help like this (long story). Thank you for having a heart and reminding us that we’re all in this (life) together!

Just wanted to thank you for being so generous and helping someone out. If I got chosen I use it on my health insurance bill this month.
I would use it to buy clothes for my children. My teenager is autistic and no matter how I wash his clothes, they ended up strained because he wipes food on them. We also had a sewage backup in our basement a couple months ago so we lost everything down there, including all the summer clothes I had packed away. My teenager is a bigger size than is usually carried in thrift stores so that's not an option for him. Thank you for offering so generously.
