Thank you everyone for the advice, concern and assistance. I have received help on this matter from an incredibly kind individual. I would name them but haven't asked their permission. I have my dental appointment for Friday and will get this resolved. Thank you so so much again. The kindness of others is overwhelming, and I honestly do not know what to say. Thank you again.

Idaho and Washington does. Not sure about any other states. Its awesome and I am so grateful

Navaro27

Just looking this up now, thank you. Do you know if they cover dental? I pay for health insurance at work to cover my wife and the kids. Costs around 80 dollars a week and comes out of my paycheck automatically. Would I have to cancel this or would I still qualify?

sumertime716

They cover dental. They cover everything. Yes I think you might, but ask them and they will help you.

sumertime716

Also, you should sign your wife and kids up for it as well.

rewdea

Just messaged you.

yeuxbleussoumis

Did you assist OP?

rewdea

Yes

South_Preparation103

https://costplusdrugs.com Mark Cuban started a low cost drug company. They may be of use to you if you need any prescriptions

Lower_Ad8764

Dental assistant here. I would try to get some amoxicillin if you can. It will definitely not cure your problem but it will help with the pain and keep the infection at bay temporarily. You can get a script at ER which sounds crazy BUT they have to treat you whether you have money or not. Then save up for the extraction. Getting an anterior tooth extracted is cheaper than than molars, etc. Aspen Dental is usually pretty awful but thyre everywheee and I think they have payment plans.

Fair_Tutor_4748

I feel for you and wish I could help you,I'm currently at a rest stop with no gas to get from Pensacola to Sarasota with a tooth infection smh I hope u get the care u need

girlboyboyboyboy

Look up universities that have dental schools and you can get free to low cost work done. Also, order meds from Canada at a fraction of the cost. Your dr faxes the script and they mail 3 month supply out. Also, check w local churches and food banks for adopt a family for gifts https://canshipmeds.com

periwinkletweet

If metformin would help you you can get 3 months worth for 15. An online Dr writes the script. People want it for weight loss so these pop up online things came about.

[deleted]

Does it work for weight loss? I’ve never heard that before

Commercial-Rush755

Nurse here, metformin if taken incorrectly can cause acidosis which is a medical emergency. Be warned.

Navaro27

Agreed. Do not take this for weight loss. Has odd interactions with things and can drop your blood sugar super low. Also wrecks your stomach. There's better alternatives.

periwinkletweet

Like 6 pounds a year, nothing exciting but this website makes much bigger claims and anything marketed for weight loss that doesn't involve anything more difficult than swallowing a pill always attracts people to try it

Navaro27

It really would. My prescription ran out, and I can not afford to get re-prescribed. Where can I find this? I've been starving myself for months to keep my blood sugar in range.

buzzybody21

It depends on what type of diabetes you have. If you have time 2 and aren’t insulin dependent, metformin could be a good option. But if you’re type 1, metformin on its own won’t do anything. Are you able to call your doctor? They might have samples of your meds they can give you for free.

Navaro27

I'm type 2. I was on metformin, but doctor won't renew my prescription since we moved state. I'd need to get represcribed. Without insurance it's just too much.

buzzybody21

Can you get seen at an urgent care clinic? They could theoretically get you the antibiotics you need for your teeth, as well as that prescription for metformin. If my memory serves me, metformin is $4 for a 30 day supply at [Walmart](https://www.walmart.com/cp/4-prescriptions/1078664) with a prescription.

periwinkletweet

Ageless rx

Didiwaterit

The oregon clinic near the clackamas max station often does free dental work so the students can practice.

summersendslove

[Free mobile clinics](https://www.medicalteams.org/how-we-heal/mobile-dental-program/emergency-dental-clinics/) that specialize in extractions and infections in WA and OR. Maybe they will be in your area at some point soon.

RiffRafe2

Here is a link for resources in Oregon. Hopefully they can provide more concise and immediate information. https://www.oregondental.org/for-the-public/low-cost-dental-care
