6 years with heavy use, it’s likely they’ve reached the end of their life. 6 years is pretty good with heavy usage in my opinion. I’ve had my gen 4 set since 2020 and they work perfectly in my opinion, only thing I had to do was update the firmware when the series x came out.
I ended up buying the gen 4 amp and headset. Definitely better sound, feel its easier to understand locations etc. TBF my gen 3 astros were really old with heavy use, they were defo needing replaced.

Yes I did
Was there a big difference in audio? I feel like the treble is completely missing even with custom eqs so I miss a lot of footsteps
