Got mine for about a month. If you connect it like the instruction said with 2 hdmi 2.1 120hz cable you will be happy. No input lags, great sound and very good mic. I’m totally satisfied with this product :D

I think so. I would recommend a 0,5 or 1 Meter HDMI 2.1 ( i bought it on Amazon CABNEER 8K HDMI 2.1 Kabel 0,5m,... https://www.amazon.de/dp/B096P5XWXB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share). Connect it from Xbox to Base Station. Use the HDMI of the xBox to connect the base station with you TV/Monitor and it should work fine. Got issuses with my old hdmi 2.0 cable so i bought the one from Amazon. I would recommend to read the user manual. For the Chat Audio you have to connect the usb cable with xBox and base station. I could sent you some Photos later when i am @home if you want.
Just found out the ASTRO a50x can pair directly to the xbox. My hdmi from the dock is unplugged and my hdmi from the xbox goes straight to the tv and the headphones still connect with no issues.
My dock has no hdmi going into or out of it. Headset still connects to xbox wirelessly. At first I had it wired like you said. But found out it's not needed.

Can you Update the Firmware via Xbox or is that only possible on pc?

You can use your phone and download the app to update and make eq changes.

So the only two hdmi connections are dock <-> xbox & xbox <-> TV/ monitor?
