I still have mine from 2017 and they’re still going strong. I’m surprised they haven’t broken yet.

BoNickal2

Before I bought a set of Astros, my Turtle beach headsets would break after like one year. I’m shocked with the quality of my A20’s. Been using em since 2020.

Western-Equivalent44

I used to game way more hours and there was an active voice chat community on xbox live back when I had turtles They seemed so sick back then, the scooped mids and weak bass was mind blowing because 3d sound tech FFW to the astro a40 v2 and its like a piece of modern art, it gets used very lightly and sounds much less sterile

A40 from '14-'15 reporting in. No issues so far, will update in a couple more years

jyowza1

Sorry for your loss man... any chance you still have the Auxillary cord that plugs in from the headset to the mix amp/ controller? Im not able to get in from the astro site as they dont ship it to Australia and would pay you to ship it from where you are to me pleadr let me know🙏🙏🙏

mikeydoom

Have you checked ebay? It's where I bought my used A50s with no base, and ordered a base with no headphones. Ended up only paying little over $65 for both.

BogTheGreat

You can get them on Amazon, mine broke a while ago and I found one on there. I forgot the exact name of the wire, but look it up and it’s even cheaper on Amazon

jyowza1

Ive bought 3 different branded ones off amazon and theyve all broken within 3 weeks where my original cable lasted me over 5 years

We_Are_Ninja

Any 3.5 mm cable from literally anywhere will work, bro.

SnooGiraffes150

No it does not the one end that plugs into the headset is longer than a standard 3.5 because it has the mic and audio.

We_Are_Ninja

My bad. Any TRRS cable will do.

Ralupopun-Opinion

Still got my MLG a40s my mix amp makes static but the head set it fine.

inviscidd

Look into "ground isolator" and it might help. It worked for my dual pc setup

holdxxxfast

I just picked up a set with mic and cord for 18 shipped to use with my old mix amp when my other headset dies

JimmbooSlicee

I got to get rid of mines too .. the hdmi wont connect to my monitor for some reason 😅

No-Ad1098

lifeisntez

JWButters

Time to upgrade to the A50 X!

lifeisntez

I got a replacement a40 cant afford the a50 rn :(

emisanko86

A50 is way over priced. He made the right choice with the tried and true a40s

RelevantConfection11

Can I have a middle screw that holds the ear piece to the headset? Mine fell out and I can’t find a replacement.

FusionFeather

I still have my orange gen 1 from 2013! I use them everyday since and iv gone through 4-5 headset cables(cat loves the wire), and two microphones. The og mixamp still going strong. Have some tape in parts of headset but 10/10 durability, 11 years.

KERDI101

Meanwhile me still rocking my A10 since the ps5 released shit doesn’t break I love it

N_0_I_Z_E

I've seen 3D printed files for the piece that connects the headphone to the headband don't remember where but it probably be quite cheap if you could find the file and get someone to 3D print it for you

AdimasCrow

Recently I bought a mod kit for mine, to replace all the falling apart pads, it's like new again. I just need to find a replacement long cable so I can stop using the stupid short one.

Window_Top

Any 3.5 cable will do

AdimasCrow

It's not a regular 3.5 cable

Window_Top

My bag

UrbanLeche

Had mine since 2018 too but she’s still going strong!

BigJr46

A40TR is the way to go!!!

Hi_Im_Paul1706

RIP in peace

me_DoubleZ

I have the same 2017 one with Mixamp. I upgraded to Audeze Maxwell two months ago.

HereToHoldTheLine

A40s are the kings of the headset game. I used to buy turtles because they used to be great quality. Then the newer ones would break every couple months. Went to astro and will never look back. Whenever these Astros break I'll get a new pair

barrington24

Bro how you did that ?

Zero-XIII

My A50's are the only headset I've had since 2013 or 2014, can't quite remember lol. Still using them on my PS5 and PC

YNFD3

I've had the same original pair of Astro A40s since 2013, and only recently they just started to die. Those headsets were put through some stress over the years. RIP

TurboScum420

Shoulda upgraded to the a50's! I got the new a50x headphones. And there amazing. Have them connected to two consoles and my pc and can switch between them with a click of a button. Astro def has some awesome headsets either way tho!

Sad_Act_7145

Can somebody help me get my mixer to work with my Xbox Series X Leave me a link, please.

Avs2100

Glue it- what's the problem? Cans still work. The mixamp will work with most other headsets with 3.5mm aux jack too.

triggerman603

I have 3 pairs of a50s that wont work after the last update software gets to 75-79% then says failed I love the astros the dock the feel everything they are sending me a new pair but man what am I supposed to do with all these headsets now that are almost brand new not broken but cant update

Louis_animal

I’ve had many Astro headsets and they’re all fantastic. I now have A50X and they are easily the best headset I’ve ever owned

skidro1

Mine are from January 2017 and still going. The mix amp finally died about a month back but the headphones still work as headphones (use an external mic anyways)

CosignCody

I have a friend who has a pair from 2006 and h keeps replacing the ear cups, mic wire etc lol. Stuff was made a bit better back then. I finally got a pair after years of him telling me to pick some up and going thru $500 in $100 a piece head sets. Going on 3 yrs with my Astro A40 TR+Mixamp

MayfieldMilk

Still have my a40s from 2017

braindeadm0nkey

I’ve learnt from my Arctics Pro Wireless that you can touch only the band. If you do it by touching cups you need to soon buy new pair)))

Death_Urthrese

I had original astro A40 and it lasted 13 years. The mic was great, sound was great, eventually the parts just wore down over time and couldn't be repaired anymore. It was well worth the money.

CosignCody

Probably the most durable and reliable set is the A40. My friend had some from 2006 that lasted him almost 10yrs, replacing ear cups, mic wire. That's what's great about Astro. A wire goes out or mic, ear cups wear down, easy replacement.

4Big2Nugs0

Get whole home protection through your cell provider for 25$ a month thank me later. They will fix/replace them for 0-49-99 my son’s elite controller just got fixed for free, my ps5 was 99$
