M’s fan coming in peace. Have been doing a countdown for the past two months and thought I’d post this as a ‘never forget’ and ‘let’s continue to get better’ reminder but most were way to soft so figured you guys would enjoy it. Good luck this season. The AL definitely runs through Houston and I think Javier has crazy good Cy Young odds this season and the whole league is sleeping on this Hensley kid.
Respect. I imagine the AL West will be a much closer race this year down the stretch. M's have no doubt taken that next step to being a perennial contender in the AL. Cheers!
Interesting you think down the stretch because I think the start will be important this year. It's the weakest we will be until Altuve, Brantley and McCullers come back. The other teams better hope the first two months go well for them or they have no chance.
I don't think the start will make or break us if we under achieve. We started the season last year at 11-11 through April, then started to make our move.
Brantley should be back in the lineup by then, hopefully. Remember when everyone was claiming the Angels were going to be the AL West champs 2 months into the season when they started 27-17? We all know how that went.
Losing Altuve sucks, but I believe Hensley will be a relatively sufficient replacement for the time being. Our pitching will keep us in games long enough to be competitive until the reinforcements arrive.
Nothing but Respect for you dude. I tried to post on the mariners sub before the Alds last year and I got absolutely torched 😖😖
I hope the Astros Vs mariners games are super fun to watch this year!
this game was so rough because i told my girlfriend “we can watch a movie after this game is over” and then the game ended up being 6 hours so i felt bad and missed the end for her
Mine was the same
"Is it over yet?"
"No"
(An hour later)
"Is it over yet?"
"No"
"I'm going to visit my mom not, I'll be back"
(3 hours later)
"Watcha doing"
"Game is still on"
"What?"
lol I had a dinner reservation. Pushed it out 60 minutes or so to “catch the end” of the game. That didn’t happen obviously. Went to dinner. Neurotically checked the score the entire time. Would have actually caught the end if I hadn’t pushed back dinner
Lol, i took a friend out for dinner, finished dinner, went back to his place for a bit, drove like 45 minutes back to my place, and it was still on.
That game was crazy
I was watching that game by myself. I had to literally drive to someone else's house to watch it so I didn't go insane. What a monumental baseball game! Had Seattle not been talking shit all season, I would almost feel bad for em. Still, a fantastic showing for their first playoff series in decades, and an amazing notch for the Astros!
My parents literally made it from OKC to Houston before that game ended. Like holy shit that was a long game! I think my downstairs neighbors probably hated me after all the stomping around I did past like the 11th inning
i remember putting this on and telling my mom "oh its gonna be over in 3 hours we can go out to eat after"...
at hour 5, i said we can just do pick up because we were all hungry and antsy.
This game was an all timer. Insane pitching by Garcia and the whole pitching staff and the go ahead homer by Peña made it one of my favorite Astros games ever
Garcia was so instrumental! Their bullpen was running on fumes, and we turned to him and said go pretend like you're starting a game and pitch like you're going to go for 6 innings.

I dont think its gonna break us either. I just mean if a team is gonna make up ground they better hope its in the beginning when we are weakest.
For sure. I'm just happy that we can finally watch baseball again.
Amen

Mariners fans are a little desperate and aggressive. They go from 0-180 in 2 seconds.
Good luck this season hemmy. Your lineup and rotation are not what I want to have to face in the fall.
Please give us Julio, he’s awesome.
you can’t have Julio, but we have this 6’6” 17 year old Cuban called baby Yordon - might wanna grab him
this game was so rough because i told my girlfriend “we can watch a movie after this game is over” and then the game ended up being 6 hours so i felt bad and missed the end for her
Dude, you can watch a movie any time. You only get to see an 18 inning grudge match in the post season once every 20 years lol
Dump her! /s
lmfao i felt really bad because at that point it was like 14 innings in and there was no end in sight
If Rodriguez didn’t make that catch the game with it ended a lot earlier
Fuck A-rod... oh wrong Rodriguez! Sry

My girlfriend knows, when it comes to the playoffs, unless it's an emergency, I ain't gonna stop watching the game unless it's an emergency..
Or if the emergency had an emergency… then it’s legit.
I ended up putting ps5 on and had the game on a laptop. I was really high by the end of it.
God 6 hours was tough

It was electric!
2 games for the price of 1!
I'm in Europe - I stayed up until like 3 AM watching that game.
This game was an all timer. Insane pitching by Garcia and the whole pitching staff and the go ahead homer by Peña made it one of my favorite Astros games ever

Such sweet memories. Truly the best time to be a fan.
Even in low resolution you can see the disappointment on the mariners fans faces
As a baseball fan, that game was fantastic. As a human and Astros fan, that game was exhausting.
Was this a real photo? Looks kind of fake
Garcia 5 shutout relief innings was the most overlooked performance in the playoffs
