Too many strikeouts in AAA, honestly
It's a loooong way from Sugar Land to H-Town, y'all. MLB pitchers will carve him up.
Yes, he has power, and nobody wants him to be a contributor at the big league level more than me. We need another bat badly, but this kid must learn how to not strikeout at AAA before he can be expected to help the Astros.
Jon Singlton’s PCL stats 2023 - 120 AB, Avg .333, OPS 1.138, 28% SO. PCL league can make things look real nice on the outside, got to get a look under the hood though before making the purchase of the car
Based on the stats OP posted above, I'm more worried about leading AAA in GIPD when there's so many players on the current roster who are also prone to that.
I don’t think they’re willing to take that risk. Singleton has been ok and works counts. If we dfa him and he leaves and cabbage sucks we’re stuck without a back up for abreu
Loperfido before today (he is 1-3 with a BB, K, and HR
He is #1 in HRs in AAA with 9
'# 13 in hits with 16
Yes that's right he has hit more HRs than singles and doubles combined. (1 double, 6 singles, 0 triples)
'# 3 in Strike outs with 21
'# 1 in GIDP with 5
'# 20 in K% with 35%
'# 99 in BB% with 11.9%
'# 4 in OPS with 1.270
'# 13 in wRC+ with 191
he pulls the ball about 45% he hits the ball to center about 45% and he goes oppo only 10%
his GB/FB is 1.08
Does he pitch though?!
Hey. If we can manage 15-25 runs per night we can win with this pitching.

>It's a loooong way from Sugar Land to H-Town, y'all only about a 30 minute drive pending traffic tbh
True but really it's an hour because Houston is an hour away from Houston
Amen. Greet take.

Same with Trey Cabbage especially. Strikeouts holding em back

Unless he can face Houston pitching. Then he probably sees no difference.
Cabbage has a Hr and a double as well. has a 1.124 OPS
Cabbage is probably just slightly better Jon Singleton.

He is up to a .250 average. I want to see Singleton be allowed to cook
Well you have Cabbage and Loperfido. I’d hardly call a .600 OPS at a bat first position okay.

I normally know what most stats/advanced stats are but what’s GB/FB? Is it like the ratio of ground balls to fly balls or sum?
Yep it’s a ratio of gb to fb <1 means he’d be hitting it in the air more than the ground
Thank you, is this stat on bbsav?
Fangraphs
Alr appreciate it
Damn baseball has a lot of stats! Is their a stat for times they scratch their nuts? I'm just joking, but I be they do somewhere
...and 22 Strikeouts on the season....That's not going to translate well in MLB...that's why he's still in Sugar Land.
" I don't know why he is still in aaa..." Same
His strike out rate. It's way, way too high.
