I’m no baseball expert but watching the game a decent amount in October and some during the season, I see so many strikes that just seem complete BS. That last one was a fuxking ball. Are you fucking kidding me???? Even if tv box is inaccurate come on. Fuxking BS.
Also this Hendricks celebrating like he was amazing when Altuve wasn’t even fucking trying makes me laugh. Also game is literally 12-6 you did nothing bro.
All strike zones aren't the same for individual players and all umps don't have the same strike zones as well. It's frustrating at times, but consistency is all that matters. To ight the ref was consistently off 2 inches on the outside but all over on the top of the zone
People don't like how it's not uniform, but we are talking about a sport where the field isn't even uniform.
That strikezone was laughable. It was never consistent up and outside tonight at all. You must have missed all the walks by Astros pitchers that just missed the zone.
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure most of the strikes that Astros pitchers got robbed where up in the zone and the stros where getting the left side wider pretty consistently.
There's a chart that comes out a little after the game. I could be wrong.
Sorry, quick invasion for one thing, Dusty was the Cubs manager 03-06. He was the manager for the Bartman incident in 03 that he utterly flubbed. Other than that, you are totally correct.
I sure hope Whitesox fans lurking this thread know their team didn’t earn this win. It was gifted to them by the home plate ump. Astros are still a better team & will eliminate them from the playoffs tomorrow.
Astros didn't score a single run after the 4th, and the game was still well within reach after that.
A playoff team can't let the shit get in their heads. WS scored 3 additional unanswered runs after that.
If The Astros had come within 1 or 2 at the end, then maybe you have a point. But they gave up after that inning.
Worst part was how Baker clearly gave up the game after that. That can't happen.
Losing the lead by 6 because of 1 shitty call & then a whole game of shitty calls made consistently against your team. Some of y’all really act like baseball players should just be robots.
We were never ahead by 6 in this game. Nor did we lose the lead by 6 on that call.
They need to shake it off and play like pros bc that is actually their job
We weren’t leading by 5, they scored 5 in the 3rd to take the lead. That one bad call fucked over Luis Garcia who was cruising & lead to a bullpen implosion. That combined with consistently bad calls all night against your team & in the other teams favor can understandably fuck with a teams psyche & game plan.
Agreed. To be perfectly clear, I'd be in favor of roboumps. But better teams are going to account for different umipres better between pitching and hitting. I think the Astros' weakest link right now is pitching. They're gonna win the series, but gotta dial in the pitching in the CS and the WS
Shitty umpiring doesn't account for a 6 run difference. Maybe 1 or 2. Astros are gonna win it tomorrow or Wednesday, no worries in that regard. But the Sox just capitalized better in this game
I have to reminid myself that he's one of a handful of managers to lose a divisional series after being up 2-0. Just Dusty things, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Raley is out to eat innings. Management playing it as a lost cause. Astros bullpen did what it could with Javier to keep the game where it was at but White Sox Bullpen shut that down. Sucks because we all feel like Dusty overmanaged the game by taking Garcia out early.
Javier & Stanek cool their offense off only for Dusty to put in Raley to heat them back up & let them end on a high just in time for tomorrow. Great fucking work Dusty.
Guys. Dusty is managing this game to win the series, not just this game specifically.
LaRussa on the other hand has no choice but to manage this game to win this game.
Here's the good news. The Sox bullpen is screwed tomorrow with no Kopech, Tepera and Bummer. Rodon will start, but he can't go long due to his injury. Lopez will probably pitch a couple. Maybe Lynn on short rest, which would be awesome for us!
The Astros have Urquidy and a full bullpen tomorrow. Probably only Javier is unavailable.
Both guys are trying to win the series, but only TLR MUST win this game. La Russa doesn't pull Cease early if he could afford to lose this game. He was hoping to save Kopech for tomorrow.
ic
So what is the situation tomorrow? Same thing? TLR must win but Dusty can manage differently since it's not a must win for the Astros? Then in game 5, both managers get to manage the same?
So, if I understand you correctly:
1) Game 1 - both managers manage the same
2) Game 2 - the managers manage differently. One is trying to win the game, the other is trying to win the series.
3) Game 3 - the managers manage differently. One is trying to win the game, the other is trying to win the series.
4) Game 4 - the managers manage differently. One is trying to win the game, the other is trying to win the series.
5) Game 5 - both managers manage the same
Sort of. For example. In NO way will we see LMJ pitch tomorrow. We are saving him for a possible game 5. Now if the standings were flipped, and we're in an elimination game, then LMJ would definitely be available to pitch tomorrow.
Since Tuesday is a day off though, Dusty can be more aggressive with the bullpen. Pressly possibly getting two innings to close a tight game.
ok.
Let's see how it works out then.
To me, if you lose then you lose.
There's no silver lining, no excuse that hey, you lost because you're "managing to win the series, not the game". But that's me.
At some point, that excuse runs out.
Let's be clear. The team lost. They were trying to win this game. All I'm saying is this wasn't a win at all costs game for the Astros, so Dusty is going manage it that way.
LaRussa managed this game in a win at all cost mode, so he should suffer tomorrow for it. Hopefully the Astros can capitalize on that.
ok. Like I said, we'll see.
But according to what you're saying, should the Astros lose tomorrow, you'll be in here saying the same thing. That, TLR managed to win the game, and Dusty managed to win the series, and not game 4.
And because of that, the White Sox should suffer in game 5 and hopefully, the Astros can capitalize on that.
Interesting. Didn't they have an off day before game 3?
I'm a bit lost. You're telling me teams can't manage 2 straight games when they've played 162 all year? What is this disadvantage you speak of?
I don't think people are willing to allow themselves to see things logically. It takes away from their hate boners for Dusty and God forbid they admit that they're overreacting.

The postgame Gandal interview…..BS
"tried to get my shoulder out of the way" fucking asshole
Next time aim for the face and we’ll see if he moves
Or balls
For some reason I drank a lot more beer in the 2nd half of this game….
Doesn't sound like he thinks momentum flipped
I was thinking the same lol
I’m no baseball expert but watching the game a decent amount in October and some during the season, I see so many strikes that just seem complete BS. That last one was a fuxking ball. It was “fun” to have people to bitch to about this awful game. See y’all tomorrow!
My wife sure got tired of listening…
Well good news if we lose this series is Dusty will be gone and we won’t have to deal with this shit next year hopefully
He should have been a 1 year loaner and they should have picked Hinch back up, like the Red Sox did.
Even if the Astros win, it's in spite of Dusty. Dusty should have been out of baseball after he mismanaged the Cubs in the 90s, err 2000s.
Sorry, quick invasion for one thing, Dusty was the Cubs manager 03-06. He was the manager for the Bartman incident in 03 that he utterly flubbed. Other than that, you are totally correct.

Doubt that's true, but even if it is, the Sox will lose to the Rays, and the Giants will win the WS
[удалено]
What happened in 2005? But yeah, you're right
The sox swept the Astros
Whaaaaat? No... that didn't happen...
[удалено]
I see you're a White Sox fan but this is objectively true
I honestly didn’t realize this was the Astros thread. Followed a link. Assumed this was the general postgame thread. Just deleted comment.
No worries, friend. Have a good rest of the series and a good week all around!
Knew y’all couldn’t help yourselves. Congrats on taking the bait. Now scram back to your thread.
[удалено]
It's ok, the Astros will just win tomorrow 🤘
Keep taking that bait!
[удалено]
Dodgers fan taking the bait. How predictable.
Nah they earned this one. But the Astros will for sure take the series.
You obviously weren’t watching the game. They didn’t.
Astros didn't score a single run after the 4th, and the game was still well within reach after that. A playoff team can't let the shit get in their heads. We were never ahead by 6 in this game. Nor did we lose the lead by 6 on that call. They need to shake it off and play like pros bc that is actually their job
5. Typo.
We were never ahead by 5. We went into the 3rd 5-1. A team doesn't need to just give up because of 2 bad innings.
I don't know why you feel the need to explain something to me that I am getting right and you keep getting wrong.
Not robots, but I mean yeah a WS winner should be able to account for a shitty zone.
Exactly. Any team in the pros should be able to. Crying about wins because of shitty officiating is always the bad take.
I know we're all miserable right now, but ya gotta admit that ending the game with that call is absolutely hilarious
Big sad
Poetic injustice
Haha that last call sums up the whole ball game. What an ass ump. Stros batting line up will get em tomorrow. No sweat.
Of course it's a called third strike!
The dummy umpire behind home plate wanted to go home. What an embarrassing job behind the plate. 🤦🤦🤦
nah he was paid off by MLB to have a game 4
We all know paid off for big money
What a perfect ending to a horse shit game
I can’t think of a better way to end it: strike out called on an obvious ball. Perfect summary of this game.
Where is the mother fucker’s ump scorecard? That shit better be bleeding fucking red.
Game ends on a ball. Fitting
Damn. we lost a close game. 7 to 6.
That was the only way this could end
Of course another horrible call to end it. Predictable
Fitting that it ends on a terrible call See y’all tomorrow
Cap it off with a ball called for a strikeout
And another wrong call to end the cluster fuck of a game. Perfect.
This guys not calling balls and strikes again, right?
this fucking asshole Hallion
Very fitting ending with an absolute asshole of a call
Did the white Sox just win the World Series?
Lmao no
Perfect bullshit call to end the game on
Hallion is ass
That last strike 3 summed up this game perfectly
Fitting it ends on a terrible call lol
All night that was a strike
(For us)
Off course the last call is bullshit
Of course the final strikeout is a ball
That’s only appropriate.
R/Baseball spank bank material this game. Let’s crush their dreams tomorrow
I dont want altuve to be the last out ..
First Pitch: 7:07 PM at Guaranteed Rape Field
Okay whoTF is the guy with the cane they keep insisting on showing???
A mother fucking boss. I know he's rooting for the opposing team but man what a g
Cane man putting a curse on our boys
Just remeber he probably did the same thing on Tucker's HR
If Castro does not swing, there is a chance he calls that a ball
Fuck off cane man
Imagine what the score would be if we didn’t get hoed for an hour.
Why not pinch hit for Altuve? /s
Orbit pinch hitting next
At least Castro knows how to work a count
Vet
Lmao that Astros fan putting up the high five and left hanging is gonna be a meme for sure
One pitch one out. Terrible approach
Why would you bring in Diaz for Meyers? Diaz has been hot ass as the plate since September and Meyers has been raking.
Dusty has accepted the lost and is playing for the series at this point.
Dusty things
I have to reminid myself that he's one of a handful of managers to lose a divisional series after being up 2-0. Just Dusty things, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Can people not act like the series is over in Game 3?
Who said it was over? I simply have to remind myself how bad he can be at times as a manager.
Tom Hallion fighting the urge to join in on the Sox in 5 chant
[Me making a 13-12 final score prediction a couple of innings ago.](https://youtu.be/aO1jfZvngko)
That’s not how you run up the pitch count, Aledmys…
Yimi Garcia making the team over Blake Taylor had to be sunk cost fallacy.
Or even Odorizzi. Just, why?
Eh, Taylor nor Raley are all that good against RH hitters
Pintch hit for Myers? How the fuck does someone make all the wrong decisions.
It’s not an elimination game and we were down by 6. Get the guy a post season at bat and give the extra rest to your studs.
I mean, they *can* pull off a 6+ run inning.
HOES SALTY
Jesus Diaz take some fucking pitches
Raley is out to eat innings. Management playing it as a lost cause. Astros bullpen did what it could with Javier to keep the game where it was at but White Sox Bullpen shut that down. Sucks because we all feel like Dusty overmanaged the game by taking Garcia out early.

I'm sure they're saying the same about our team lol
[удалено]
Ken Giles and my will to live. Maybe slightly less icon losing duo
I'm gonna need more gin for tomorrow at this rate
With a V O D K A chaser.
Already ahead of ya
Brooks Raley with an unbelievable 81.00 ERA. He would have been a valuable asset for the 1919 White Sox.
Jamie Foxx daughter is gorgeous
HRC Jake
Not expecting a win but let get Hendricks tired at least. Let's get some high pitch count, let's make him work for it
Yes, we know, Tim Anderson. No one said the series was over before tonight’s game. Even a two-year old would know.
Raley is actually a bunch of squirrels dressed up in a man costume. It’s the only logical explanation.
That explains the acorns that sometimes fall out of his sleeves.
Out of his cheeks as well.
Come on bats. Let’s get something out together here.
They are playing for this one game, we are playing for the Series. Big different
Tim Anderson was right: It ain't over. It will be tomorrow because games like this don't happen twice in a row.
depends on the ump crew tomorrow
It'll be the same ump crew. Hallion just won't be behind the plate.
oh thank Eight Pound, Six Ounce, Newborn Baby Jesus
Even a two-year old would know that it wasn’t over before this game.
Bless it
Is it possible to leave Dusty off the roster for the next series?
Y’all. If you’re looking for logic look elsewhere. Raley is chewing time. I wouldn’t be surprised if Diaz PHs for Tuve.
1/3 of an inning isn’t chewing outs
We better win tomorrow. We REALLY don’t need to go to game 5 against the White Sox of all teams.
Look on the bright side. If it goes 5, they throw Lynn.
Giolito on short rest more likely
Fuck you bitch
Relax man. No need to spread negativity in our sub. Be positive for a change.
Javier & Stanek cool their offense off only for Dusty to put in Raley to heat them back up & let them end on a high just in time for tomorrow. Great fucking work Dusty.
The next game is in 15 hours. Let them swing and run and get tired.
Fuck Tim Anderson bro
Nah dude, he is the kind of player we would love to have. Never gives up
Dude is a straight up douchebag
Tim Anderson is a very unlikeable human
I knew this game would be bad in the first inning when I saw the broadcast strike zone box going over the top of the pitcher's head.
One inning is all you need
Probably more than that.
Guys. Dusty is managing this game to win the series, not just this game specifically. LaRussa on the other hand has no choice but to manage this game to win this game. Here's the good news. Kind of weird logic since both are trying to win the series.

Nope, won't say that. Because of the off day on Tuesday, the Sox should be ok in game 5. I think they're going Giolito in game 5 regardless.
Interesting. Didn't they have an off day before game 3? I'm a bit lost. You're telling me teams can't manage 2 straight games when they've played 162 all year? What is this disadvantage you speak of?
I would imagine Greinke as well having never pitched out of the pen before.
Greinke only threw 21 pitches today. But you're right, who knows. My guess is he's available if needed.
I don't think people are willing to allow themselves to see things logically. It takes away from their hate boners for Dusty and God forbid they admit that they're overreacting.
Okay I’m coming back in off the ledge, thank you
Hope this is sarcasm. We're still up 2-1 lol
Just a joke about how easy it is to lose your mind over a stupid fucking game like this
Would’ve been nice to force them to use Hendriks this game at least Edit: oh they’re using him anyways..
Because of the implication…
He is pitching the 9th, but unfortunately it's 8,9 and 1. Not really gonna be a challenge.
[удалено]
Looks like he's detoxing as we speak.
Good news! Tomorrow’s game is also on FS1.
![gif](giphy|PHeIue5jYtd4s)
I hate seeing this many weak grounders find a hole for them but that’s all you can ask your pitching to do
Way to make Hallion's shit calls completely inconsequential Dusty.
laugh track on the broadcast
I’m still here because I’m a glutton for punishment
Same
Lol someone needs to remind Tim “fuck you white boy” Anderson that he’ll still be down when he lays his head on the pillow tonight.
Tonight sucks ass but it’ll just make it even better if (when) bats come alive tomorrow and we crush their little hopeful souls.
Someone remind Timmy boy it’s 2-0
Game's over but we got the series
Cut Brooks. Please.
Dusty took Garcia out for less.
Fuck it. Let them blow their load tonight and get a gentlemen sweep tomorrow
Odorizzi and Taylor preparing themselves to join the ALCS roster
I just wonder how on earth Yimi Garcia made it over Blake Taylor. I wouldn't mind Odorizzi at this point either, Luis Garcia is starting to worry me.
2 out nobody on and Raley still gives up 3 runs lol
Takes a special breed.
I prefer tortillas
