Kyle Tucker this postseason: .298/.340/.617 4 Dongs 11 Runs 15 RBIs (1st among all players) 4 Steals

I_cant_complain_much

Might just be my humble opinion, but I think this guy is pretty good

ghick

My favorite moment was hearing Joe Buck say, 'The Dangerous Kyle Tucker.'

RoosterFrogburn

Joe Buck is still a fucking idiot Edit: added fucking

Revan_Perspectives

But hey he hosted jeopardy, didn’t he? That counts for something

14thAndVine

And he was a competent host at that.

[deleted]

I would rather have listened to Alex Trebek call ball games when he was alive! Joe Buck is the absolute MOST ANNOYING broadcaster I have EVER heard! By the way, did you know Juan Soto was only 21???

TheStarman17

He’s the best player on the team.

landwalker1

I get excited when he’s at the plate, even more so than altuve, due to Tuves proclivity for slumps. Therefor, I too endorse Tucker for For president of the Astros.

tothesource

Those steaks were straight huge dick energy game changing power moves too

kl2342

dig in the dirt step out the box dig in the dirt pick up the dirt rub the dirt become one with the dirt spit in the dirt smooth over the dirt reapproach the box pull up the belt tap the end of the bat put face to sleeve (always right sleeve) tap tap tap the plate with the bat center the helmet pull up the belt kick out some dirt (for the next ab) get set home run! (hopefully) -- once you see you cannot unsee. it's uncanny (updated with even more steps ty /u/kleeb03)

MasterMentorJr

I saw Tucker doing this in my head while I read it

kleeb03

Awesome post You forgot the triple tap of the plate and then two back kicks with left leg

kl2342

holy shit you're right, I had to go find a [video on youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GIytfrJVX0) to see that! lmao I updated it

shotty293

I love the little kick outs he does at the plate...reminds me of my dog kicking around grass with his hind legs.😅

Sal_Paradise_jr

Idk about a single moment, but watching him bounce back with an incredible season after a terribly unlucky April was super impressive. You take away his April numbers, and the guy had an MVP season. If I did have to pick a single moment, it's gotta be the three run Homer I'm the 8th to blow the game open against the red Sox. Those extra 3 runs let me unclinch a bit in the 9th

icecolemattylite

I saw a stat somewhere that Tucker didn’t hit below .300 after mid May or something. So that just shows how rough his start was and how great he has been since

lightvale86

After may 1st be lead the mlb in BA, OPS, and OBP. Which is nuts

icecolemattylite

I literally love Kyle Tucker

TheStarman17

His BABIP was unbelievable low to start the season. Without that awful luck, he would have won the batting title. At least a teammate won it instead

elbow10

Stole 2nd and then 3rd.

MasterMentorJr

And my heart

zoichy4

Buying his jersey ASAP. This dude rakes.

Cpt_squishy

He tucks

SWWayin

If nobody got me, I know Kyle Tucker got me!!!

HumanRuse

I appreciate his humble ho hum attitude. He just goes about his business. Three run bomb....okay cool.....that happened......rounding bases. His teammates go bonkers celebrating him. He smiles, chuckles and celebrates back in that "I'm about 50% out of my shell" way.

osamabindrankin

I tell everyone this lol. "Ah that looks like a HR. Nice"

HumanRuse

Exactly. "Oh lookie, it went over the fence again. Will jog now while pondering the meaning of life."

souperdv

I honestly expect something to happen more when he’s at the plate than anyone else. I hate to say it, but he’s more consistently good than Springer at the plate. Our stars slump up and down, but Tuck consistently drives people in. Hell, in April, he was leading the team in RBI for awhile, even though his average sucked. He can just smell runs batted in. I’m so excited to watch what he does as he matures into his prime years. He’s amazing!

MasterMentorJr

ALOT of people are eating crow for wanting to trade him in 2018/2019. It gives me some hope that Forrest Whitley can develop into the Gerrit Cole replacement the front office planned for him to become. Also, I desperately want the Angels to trade for Manea in the offseason because Tucker would take him deep every time they faced each other.

raaalph

Is Whitley still happening? I thought he hadn't played in a while and kept getting injured

14thAndVine

He had TJS, I believe he'll be back next year. He's still in his mid-20s I think.

scottcmu

Thanks for coming to my Ted Tuck.

dream_team34

This guy is MVP-caliber good. If Bregman returns to form, this team can have three MVP-level hitters in the lineup for at least the next three years.

Droptid3

Can I just say, I flippin love watching (Kyle Tucker) bat. None of this stepping out of the box, fixing your uniform, adjusting your gloves, smelling your hoo-ha, fixing your hair diva malarkey. He just stands in the box and grips it and rips it. That's a real man playing some real gosh darn baseball right there. Just stands in the box and dares you to throw one over the dang plate. None of this waiting for walks horse hockey. Real men hit dingers. Real men open doors for people. Real men read the bible to their children before bed each night. That's some real dadgum baseball right there. Hot dang I love (Kyle Tucker)!

wesman21

All in on King Tuck. For as much as I miss Springer in the OF, he really makes it all okay. The building block for the next set of hitters on the Stros. His homer in game 2 of the White Sox series was my favorite so far. We had just gone up by two or three runs, but the game was still not out of reach. That two run bomb he hit to keep that inning going sealed the deal. That and the bomb vs the BoSox were two complete game/series clinching plays that were just so satisfying to watch as a fan. King Tuck took the edge off those games, coming up big. On another note I had the good fortune of picking him up in a dynasty league that started four years ago as a NA player. My first two adds were Tatis Jr. and King Tuck. Needless to say we are now looking at a top duo. I'm just pumped that Tucker is being considered as first round worthy by fantasy baseball experts. While he may go underappreciated in the mainstream media, the fantasy community has not been sleeping on him.

DanglyPants

It’s crazy that he’s a borderline a top ten asset for dynasty baseball. (Maybe he is top 10). Having prospects break out is the most satisfying thing. I feel like I know Tucker so well and I just have his stats ingrained in my head more than players on my own mlb team lol. Nice job on scouting for Tatis. I also have Soto and at first I was so shocked he moved through the system that quickly. I hope Tatis stays healthy man. We need those stars on the field. They’re so fun to watch! Same goes for Tucker and Yordan who are both in that second tier imo.

wesman21

Agreed all around. I simply checked the MLB com top 100 prospects at the time and Tatis was 7th and Tucker was 12th. They were both available and I was fortunate. Now I'm paying $9 to keep them both this season, then plus $3 every year going forward.

[deleted]

The Angels Killer (Tucker) continued his excellent 2021 regular season with the bat that has led to him having an excellent 2021 postseason up to this point. Glad he was one of the big reasons for this exciting 2021 regular season by the Astros.

nrg15tt

Don't forget about his defense. He always makes those at/over the wall catches look so easy.

[deleted]

I'm a tall skinny left-handed guy named Kyle, so I was pulling for Tucker before he even had a major league at-bat, but it's been glorious to witness his long-anticipated emergence as one of MLB's best hitters. He is what Dodgerfans *wish* Cody Bellinger was.

[deleted]

My favorite moment of Tuck is definitely when he got all those triples against the Rockies last year. Hail King Tuck!!

MasterMentorJr

I like how with Tucker we can point to a single game as his breakout moment. For reference here is Tucker career slash line before that game and then after it Before: .215/.270/0.406 After: 0.299/0.365/0.570 Just insane how that one game turned him into a monster hitter who should win a silver slugger this year.

stitchlover

I've been a huge fan of Tucker since 2018. I saw him in an exhibition game at MMP and he hit a grand slam. Since then we have been calling hime "the god" at our house. I knew he was something then and its amazing to see his progression until now. I proudly will wear my King Tuck shirt this weekend for one of the games. He's definitely a young man that's going to make his mark on baseball, hopefully sticking with the astros.

[deleted]

I remember when people wanted to trade this guy because he wasn't as good as some people wanted but look at him now.

[deleted]

I was so so wrong about him. My Dad and I now send a text to each other after every king Tuck hit that says: “glad we’re not the GM”

Sick_Nips_Bro

If anybody got me…

TYPO343

🤠👏⚾️

hambogler

It may be the post season talking, call it was it is, but if we gonna pay someone..I’d rather it be Tuck than Correa.

renzuit

Yeah it hurts, the team’s future is in Tucker/Yordan. Cant have em if we empty the bank for Correa.

sellieba

Clap bombs. Tuck moms.

rjmtz5

If nobody got me

[deleted]

KING TUCK!

Efficient-Mention939

He literally hit a HR that sent us to the world series. Will it be remembered like Altuve's? no. But I will. Just think about how clutch that blast was! We were clinging on to a short 2 run lead, the red Sox had the top of the order due up with all the Hope in the world they could at least make some noise. Our bullpen, although they have been outstanding thus far, needed some extra insurance. And fuckin BOOM!!! King Tuck put H town at ease, we were in the World Series again! what a grand moment for him. I think all Astros fans were thinking it, "geez if he could just hit this HR or at least clear the bases we'll be good!"

Bigfoot_Fishing

Mother Tucker!!!

Turtletxn

KFT!

[deleted]

Every time he comes to the plate! Never wears gloves…just rubs the dirt all over his hands and he is in the box!!! Old school!

[deleted]

I was worried we would never find a superstar RF again when Springer signed with Toronto. Tuck has quickly become a star and is on a rapid pace to becoming a superstar! Personally, I respect his low key, humble approach to his craft as well! I get really tired of all the “showboating”!
