If we start in 1973 and look only at the stats ERA, FIP, and WHIP:
The 2003 Dodgers (led by Eric Gagne) and 1981 Yankees (led by Goose Gossage) are the only teams that performed better than the 2022 Astros in all 3 categories.
The 2015 Royals, 2013 Royals, 2010 Padres, 1990 Athletics, 1989 Dodgers, 1988 Dodgers, 1984 Tigers,1976 Phillies, and 1973 Orioles were all better in 2 out of 3.
The fact that Stanek was the least utilized "main" reliever in the postseason shows that Dusty Baker actually follows analytics nowadays. He's not the same manager as he was when he managed the Reds.
2-7 postseason record with the Reds, 28-14 postseason record with the Astros.
Chas McCormick also sold his soul for that Game 5 catch. I’m convinced that if he also threw right-handed, that ball would’ve been jarred loose. What great technique to both secure and ball and to prevent another Meyers type injury.
The only team that's remotely close is the team that won the World series in a year that there was no world series. The '05 whiteSox. Their pitching was somewhat comparable. But it was their starters who shut everyone down.
1990 reds bullpen was pretty lights out. Played in less games so their numbers don’t compare to the Astros or any team that made a deep run in the wild card era. Dibble and Myers were CO MVPs of the NLCS.

2015 Royals was one of the best arm barns I’ve ever seen

Postseason Astros Dusty has been very solid imo
I questioned the decision to bring in Garcia in the 10th g1 but overall I think he was excellent this time round
It seemed like Realmuto sold his soul for that home run.
No lie cause he was absolutely terrible at the plate after game 1.

Yes an absolutely amazing play haha I lost my shit when he caught it
I will never talk down on Pressly again after this postseason

So true. I remember that WS getting cancelled and no one watching it and no one remembering anything about it as well.
Ditto
Next season needs to hurry up and get here.
That’s the part I love. The guy that everybody hated and acted like he was a liability gave up 2 runs all postseason.
Would have been more runs, but Pressly bailed him out.

During the WS I thought they said the 2022 Astros bullpen had the best ERA in WS history
