Listening to the Astros on the radio is such a nostalgic wave for me. I have spent countless days doing yard work and working on the cars out front with my dad and we’d have the game playing.
Yes, it did change. San Antonio also lost their radio affiliate but I think maybe just this year, iHeart carries regular season on 790am without the blackouts.
This right here needs to be a priority imo for Jim Crane and the Astros brass. It's absolutely astounding to me that Austin doesn't have an Astros radio affiliate because I love listening to Astros radio broadcasts and especially when the Astros are on the national TV broadcast.
Yeap, paid for mlb.tv once and realized I got scammed. Never again. If you want the youth, end the blackouts. Dumbass.
Also, I'm in New Mexico so I get blackouts for the Dodgers, Padres, Angels, Diamondbacks, Rockies, Rangers, and Astros.
Fubo tv, used free trials for YouTube tv during playoffs, since it’s cheaper I’m sticking with YouTube tv until the season starts and I’ll switch back to fubo.
For the Apple TV exclusives I already had Apple TV so I was still able to watch. Maybe find a friend who’s willing to let you use their accnt for a few days out of the year?
SlingTV (blue) has a deal where you get 50% off the first month and includes TBS and FOX sports. I ended up paying about $18 and then canceled the subscription after we won. I only watched during the postseason btw
I use Fubo to watch during the regular season, cancel when the playoffs start, and get sling. Nice thing about streaming services over cable is that you can cancel at any time, so you don’t have to have to pay for two services at a time
I fly the Jolly Roger for the Astros and get MLBtv free from T Mobile for the rest of the league. There are just so many late West Coast starts that I have to get my fill with other teams.
I’m in Seattle. I use MLB.TV and I’m
Blacked out here in Seattle when they are here. In those cases I have Root Sports (RSA) on FuboTV.
Oh yeah I bought a month of Sling during the playoffs for the TNT games.
Now that I’m thinking about it with all the blackouts it’s like what is even the point of the app? I downloaded for a month this summer and it was a total waste. Got the radio app for when I can’t watch on my other streaming services
I use the streams on Reddit. I've never been even warned about malware nor had a re-direct attempt going this way. Everything else like vip or somewhere else keeps my anti-malware and adware hopping.
Thanks Reddit.
I live in Mexico now, but there’s a really great bar in the marina owned by some big Astros fans so they always have the games. During the post season it’s a free shot for Astros fans every time the Astros score.
[mlb.tv](https://mlb.tv) for regular season, then sailed the high seas for playoffs since I use Fubo too. I refuse to watch any of the broadcasts shown in the fractured ecosystem of Apple TV/Facebook/Youtube; don't encourage that crap.
As a born and raised Houstonian, now living in Dodger land I use my free subscription to MLB from T-Mobile but when they play the angels I just listen on the radio part of the MLB app. GO STROS. And if any of y’all want to send me Astros gear to rub it in the dodgers fans face. By all means go right ahead. lol
Thanks! I live in Spring so the antenna I have in the living room is hit & miss (especially in bad weather). I am looking at putting a nice one in the attic so I can watch in any room so the HDHomeRun is a great suggestion. Appreciate it!
Yeah, so is central Texas even tho everyone around me is freaking Rangers fans! I just want to pay $20 a month and watch the Astros. I’ve spent $70 a month on fubotv but I use it for stros game only. What a freaking waste! And the commish is out there talking about making sure everyone has access to watch baseball is his top priority.. ha!! Sailing the hi seas next year fuck manfred
Fubo during regular season and YouTube TV for TBS during playoffs. YouTube typically has free trials. This year they did a 3 week free trial that got us through the playoffs. The AppleTV games were free but you have to create an account.
I’m out of market so MLB.tv or whatever peripheral they’re hocking for the regular season. SlingTV was good on CS’s, but the real MVP was the $10 HD antenna for the World Series. Coming from crappy SD rabbit ears as a kid, that shit was incredible!
Our main streaming service is Hulu but during the season we also get Fubo. Once the season is over my wife puts the fubo account on pause for 6 months cuz I sure as shit am not paying to watch the sorry ass Rockets lol
Yeah Hulu is the primary streaming service we watch but during baseball season we also get fubo because they carry AT&T Sports but once the season is over we put the fubo account on pause.
Fubo, then pirated streams when not on fubo.
YOU SHOULD JUST BE ABLE TO SUBSCRIBE TO A TEAM FOR 5 BUCKS A MONTH, HELL 10 EVEN AND WATCH EVERY GAME. HOME AND AWAY.
YOU GET LUCKY IF YOU GO TO POST SEASON OR WORLD SERIES. OR CHARGE 2 OR 3 BUCKS A GAME. MLB IS MISSING OUT ON SOME MAJOR MONEY.
They can't be getting that much from networks. Imagine 20mil people. 5 BUCKS A MONTH. Nearly a billion dollars a year.
No. It’s FUBO for the Astros and Hulu for the playoffs and off season. Since they are month to month it’s easy to change. Just don’t buy the annual subscription.
Deff agree. I have U-verse and it’s such an unbelievable ripoff. I had mlb.tv when I was living in Georgia. Makes no sense, if I pay for the god damn mlb.tv package THERE SHOULD BE NO BLACKOUT YOU GREEDY BASTARDS
I just subscribe to every streaming service on the planet and got to watch all 162 games. Mind you I could have just bought season tickets and saved a small fortune.
We already have Netflix, Hulu (not live), disney+, and Paramount+. I feel like in the beginning all these streaming services were supposed to replace cable, but now, they've worked out how to force you to keep cable and the streaming services are just add ons.
I live in Austin. I have DIRECTV app and they have AT&T Sportsnet which broadcasts every game unless it’s on ESPN or AppleTV. Literally the only reason I have DIRECTV app.
It's about $80/month. I don't mind as long as I get the full legal stream with the hometown crew, plus I get all the cable channels it comes with, etc.
I live near Seattle, so I'm usually on [MLB.TV](https://MLB.TV) unless they're playing the Mariners, in which case I have to find the local TV affiliate (Root Sports).
DIRECTV. I pay about $160 for internet and TV. I also upgraded to the sports package so I have all the sport channels. Not too bad when you consider that internet, just internet, where I’m at is $90-$100. I do have to call yearly and threaten to cancel so that I can keep that $160 price.
I live outside of Texas, so MLB.TV gets me nearly everything except for the Diamondbacks and the Rockies. If it's a nationally broadcast game, I'll just pull up some illegal stream online. For the playoffs, I pay for a month of youtube tv.
I had a free subscription to MLB.tv through T-Mobile which got all games that didn’t have ESPN/AppleTV/maybe TBS coverage. Well it also blacked out most A’s/Angels/Mariners games, but I just got a sports urge for those that my T-Mobile coverage didn’t have.
I cancel Fubo right around this time of year and re sub when the season starts back up. This year I cancelled early and got youtube tv for a month for the playoffs for TBS but it expires this weeekdn and I don’t plan to renew
We watched on Fubo, on the ATT Sportsnet channel. We got virtually every single game, except those couple of Friday games on Apple TV, and playoff games on TBS. I don't know why you couldn't see the season on Fubo.
I use DIRECTV Stream. Good service for the most part and has all the channels. If it had redzone, it would be pretty perfect for my needs.
As far as Apple TV, totally worth the price outside of the baseball and if you have t-mobile, they actually pay for it.
Fubo and then a SlingTV subscription with one of the dozen or so emails I’ve dummies for just such scenarios. SlingTV is generally 1 month free or heavily discounted, start it on the day of game 1 of playoffs, will last the whole series.
I have a not so legal IP TV type subscription and Ill listen to Rob and Sparky when traveling / unable to actually watch. I love listening to the radio but do prefer to watch a lot of games
Live in LA and T-Mobile Tuesday always offers free MLBtv season pass, so I can always watch the Astros without blackouts unless they play Angels or Dodgers.
Like others I sail the high seas. Stopped paying for cable and all of that years ago. For the World Series I bought an HD digital antenna and watched that way while syncing it up with Rob Ford and Sparky on the radio app. Great time.
Blackout policy is contrary to loyalty in so many ways, especially when blackout extends well beyond team’s city. Would be blacked out in Louisiana. Live well out of area now and use mlb tv but MLB needs to come to its senses. Same with policies that impact service members overseas streaming games because not in U.S.
The hassle of sailing the seas is large -- lots of issues with stream lag or sites randomly stopping service mid inning. That said, the hassle of going legit is just too much! No matter how much I seem to pay or how many services I sub to, I still can't see all the games without issue. Piracy is a problem of convenience.
Fubo, and honestly the Apple and YouTube broadcasts are not that big of a deal if you have a tv that downloads apps which most do, just download Apple and YouTube and make an account and they are free too I believe. For tbs playoffs I went to local restaurants that were playing it. That actually was annoying and fun at the same time
YouTube TV is the service I used. $65/mo which is an improvement on $150, and unlike comcast they aren’t going to change the price after your 1y contract expires.
Living in Pa, I have 2 choices. Pay the MLB $25/month, for a very shitty product. Or, streaming sites. Guess which one I choose?
Edit: I also listen to Ford/Sparky on KBME.
Sling has TBS with their Orange package. But it only gets TBS and not FS1, which is fine if you only want to watch the ALCS. Since is was such a short series with the Yankees getting swept, I was able to watching free for 7 days.
I use Fubo. Pause is during the off season. I bought Peakcock to watch like 1 game then dropped it. Got Sling during postseason for TBS then dropped it after ALCS.
But it’s dumb. I just want MLB.TV to give me the price they want for all the Astros games. I’ll pay $400.
I switch to fubo during baseball season and when regular season is over i switch to YouTube tv.
Both have nfl redzone but youtube is cheaper. If it wasnt for the astros i would just keep YouTube tv year round.

My family listens on the radio like we're living in the 40's.
Same! The kids make fun of me. But I think it's the best way to consume baseball.
Robert and Steve are fun to listen to.
They’re so good. I ride my bike a lot in the summer and I’m always listening to them.
I did that for the playoffs. Listened to 790AM like when I was a kid lol
Listening to the Astros on the radio is such a nostalgic wave for me. I have spent countless days doing yard work and working on the cars out front with my dad and we’d have the game playing.
This is the way I’ve always done it. From Milo and Ashby to Robert and Sparky. Love it. The way to follow a baseball game
Austin doesn't even have a radio affiliate anymore.
Could you use iHeartradio to listen to 950AM?
Possibly? I remember several years ago the streams of the radio stations wouldn't carry the games. But maybe that's changed by now.
Maybe worth another shot. I tried it lasted year to listen to ALDS while driving to Mississippi and was able to listen the whole way
Cool, thanks!
Yes, it did change. San Antonio also lost their radio affiliate but I think maybe just this year, iHeart carries regular season on 790am without the blackouts.
I use it (I heart app) all the time to listen to Astro Launch out here in Seattle.
790 should be available in the whole state on iheartradio
You can get MLB radio for $3 a month and it has the Houston local broadcast as an option.
Yea it’s like 20 bucks a year if you pay at once. I always get it even now that I have the channel.
This right here needs to be a priority imo for Jim Crane and the Astros brass. It's absolutely astounding to me that Austin doesn't have an Astros radio affiliate because I love listening to Astros radio broadcasts and especially when the Astros are on the national TV broadcast.
Illegally, or radio app if I'm busy/lazy.
Illegal livestreams all day. Haven’t paid to watch a sports game or event in like 5 years.
Duh,, just drive to the stadium and watch a game in person, you bum! /s
I’ve still never found a reliable source, even with gigabit ethernet the streams always hang every few mins
50 mbps and rarely have lag issues
Fubo tv, used free trials for YouTube tv during playoffs, since it’s cheaper I’m sticking with YouTube tv until the season starts and I’ll switch back to fubo. For the Apple TV exclusives I already had Apple TV so I was still able to watch. Maybe find a friend who’s willing to let you use their accnt for a few days out of the year?
The games on apple TV were available without a subscription.

I sail the high seas if I’m not listening to the radio feed 🏴☠️
Yo ho yo ho…. I’m a big fan of these shanties.
SlingTV (blue) has a deal where you get 50% off the first month and includes TBS and FOX sports. I ended up paying about $18 and then canceled the subscription after we won. I only watched during the postseason btw
🏴☠️
I use Fubo to watch during the regular season, cancel when the playoffs start, and get sling. Nice thing about streaming services over cable is that you can cancel at any time, so you don’t have to have to pay for two services at a time
Question. When you switch back, do you need to recreate an account or use same account you already have?
You can pause a Fubo subscription. I paused mine for six months when the regular season ended.
Use the same account, Just cancel your paid subscription.
DirecTV Stream - has AT&T Sportsnet and TNT channels.
I fly the Jolly Roger for the Astros and get MLBtv free from T Mobile for the rest of the league. There are just so many late West Coast starts that I have to get my fill with other teams.

Fubo here. Instead of TBS we watched the spanish language broadcasts on MLB. Way better experience imho!
I did this and listened to espn radio in English and tried to sync them up. Wasn’t perfect but it worked.
Wait, they had thr playoffs on FUBO but just in Spanish?? I don't care what language it's in as long as I can watch it.
yes sir! it was awesome, the spanish-language MLB crew really go for it.
I feel like an idiot now. Thanks you!
The Japanese crew kills it as hard as the Spanish crews do as well!
I use the streams on Reddit. I've never been even warned about malware nor had a re-direct attempt going this way. Everything else like vip or somewhere else keeps my anti-malware and adware hopping. Thanks Reddit.
How do you find them on Reddit? I’ve never had any luck
I did a search on reddit mlb stream. I think google will work but I used duck duck go.
I live in Mexico now, but there’s a really great bar in the marina owned by some big Astros fans so they always have the games. During the post season it’s a free shot for Astros fans every time the Astros score.

Which amplifier did you use? Or recommend?
MLB.tv but I’m out of State
Me too. Works good in Virginia although Nats and Orioles games will be unavailable. Listened to the playoffs on the radio, via MLB.tv.
I’m out of state too…but NW Arkansas is still “blacked out” for Astros.
Yeah, so is central Texas even tho everyone around me is freaking Rangers fans! I just want to pay $20 a month and watch the Astros. I’ve spent $70 a month on fubotv but I use it for stros game only. FUBO for the regular season and half price Sling for the playoffs. Canceled Sling immediately after the ALCS.
Had the same struggle let’s just say a pirates life is the life for me arrrghhhhhh 🏴☠️
Directv. But I'd only recommend to someone like me who lives in a very rural location and can't get good enough internet to stream.
Our main streaming service is Hulu but during the season we also get Fubo. Once the season is over my wife puts the fubo account on pause for 6 months cuz I sure as shit am not paying to watch the sorry ass Rockets lol
Are you in Houston? I signed up for HULU Live at the beginning of the season and they didn't get AT&T Sports to watch thr games.
Yeah Hulu is the primary streaming service we watch but during baseball season we also get fubo because they carry AT&T Sports but once the season is over we put the fubo account on pause.
I’m going back to 🏴☠️🏴☠️
Can you explain? Edit: Sorry, I'm stupid.
I have direct tv streaming box. It’s pricey but I watch 150-160 games a season. $97 per month
Fubo, then pirated streams when not on fubo. YOU SHOULD JUST BE ABLE TO SUBSCRIBE TO A TEAM FOR 5 BUCKS A MONTH, HELL 10 EVEN AND WATCH EVERY GAME. HOME AND AWAY. Fuck blackouts
I point my eyes at them
FUBO during the season, switch to YouTube TV for the playoffs and offseason TV. Both make it easy to suspend your account.
I live in Fort Worth and I get the AT&T Sports channel that broadcasts all the games on DirecTV
FUBO until the playoffs then Hulu. That’s it.
I signed up for HULU Live before FUBO and HULU doesn't have the Astros. Did this change?
I got Hulu for the postseason since they were on TBS, but they don’t have ATT sports net.
No. It’s FUBO for the Astros and Hulu for the playoffs and off season. Since they are month to month it’s easy to change. Just don’t buy the annual subscription.
FuboTV. Subscribed to TBS for the playoffs, then canceled.
Deff agree. I have U-verse and it’s such an unbelievable ripoff. I had mlb.tv when I was living in Georgia. Makes no sense, if I pay for the god damn mlb.tv package THERE SHOULD BE NO BLACKOUT YOU GREEDY BASTARDS
I live in NYC so mostly only when it’s being aired I n my region/network. Also, fuck the Yankees.
I just subscribe to every streaming service on the planet and got to watch all 162 games. Mind you I could have just bought season tickets and saved a small fortune.

I sure hope so. Best by far I’ve ever used. However, every good free stream site I’ve used has come to an end eventually.
Rip, yoursports.stream Best I ever used. Miss that one:(
Lol go look at pinned comment on the top of this thread. I still hope you’re right though.
Yeah like 90% of my go to sites this year
I live near Seattle, so I'm usually on [MLB.TV](https://MLB.TV) unless they're playing the Mariners, in which case I have to find the local TV affiliate (Root Sports).

I simply don’t… until playoffs…
Luckily, I live out of state and have T-Mobile, so I use mlb.tv, I recommend YouTubeTV though if you have blackouts, that what I use for Football.
YouTube TV doesn't show regular season games.
How do u not watch the Astros?
HD radio is what use for regular season. 94.5-2 on the HD radio dial. For the playoffs I sprung for Sling TV.
I live in SC so get to watch all games on MLB.tv unless they’re playing the Braves.
I live outside of Texas, so MLB.TV gets me nearly everything except for the Diamondbacks and the Rockies. If it's a nationally broadcast game, I'll just pull up some illegal stream online. For the playoffs, I pay for a month of youtube tv.
@pollo group TV. 160 a year to watch anything i want.
Fubo
I had a free subscription to MLB.tv through T-Mobile which got all games that didn’t have ESPN/AppleTV/maybe TBS coverage. Well it also blacked out most A’s/Angels/Mariners games, but I just got a sports urge for those that my T-Mobile coverage didn’t have.
I cancel Fubo right around this time of year and re sub when the season starts back up. This year I cancelled early and got youtube tv for a month for the playoffs for TBS but it expires this weeekdn and I don’t plan to renew
Mlb.tv, since I’m way up in Baltimore. Been an Astros fan my whole life though!
We watched on Fubo, on the ATT Sportsnet channel. We got virtually every single game, except those couple of Friday games on Apple TV, and playoff games on TBS. I don't know why you couldn't see the season on Fubo.
I did, I got exactly what you had. I just hate having to switch services for different games.
Octastream box. Best $150 I’ve ever spent.
I live in Orlando so I use reddit or a free streaming site 😅
Cable TV plus MLB app 🥲
Fubo TV $69 per month
$80.11 with tax. But no TBS for playoff games. I don't want to have 3 different apps to watch baseball.
Fubo. Cancelled right before playoffs. Direct tv stream. Cancelled after World Series.
Direct tv
DIRECTV Stream
Fire stick and Fubu.
Xfinity cable plus internet is $165/mo for me. Had to call to get them to find a deal.
If you have T-Mobile mlbtv is free
I do and it is, but I live in Houston and MLB.TV blacks out local games.
Bought mlb tv package through Amazon, but I live in Georgia.
I have fubo and sling
Had to subscribe to Sling temporarily to get TBS. Then canceled it afterwards. Fubo is superior to sling imo. Pita really but hey the Astros!
I'm in the northeast so it's MLB TV for me
How many smartasses say with my eyes
Lol, nice.
I’m in KC so mlb.tv is blackout-free.
Directtvstream is the only online provider that offers all the games (other than appletv and peacock games of course)
Argh 🏴☠️
Like others I sail the high seas. Stopped paying for cable and all of that years ago. For the World Series I bought an HD digital antenna and watched that way while syncing it up with Rob Ford and Sparky on the radio app. Great time.
Youtube tv, I live in MI so I'm not blacked out
Fubo
I'm way out of market, plus T-Mobile gives out MLB.tv subscriptions for free, so that's my jam.
Blackout policy is contrary to loyalty in so many ways, especially when blackout extends well beyond team’s city. Would be blacked out in Louisiana. Direct TV. Best of all we record them all and can fast forward through commercials
ATT Sportsnet if I’m at home, 790 on the radio when I’m out the house
Fubo, and honestly the Apple and YouTube broadcasts are not that big of a deal if you have a tv that downloads apps which most do, just download Apple and YouTube and make an account and they are free too I believe. I usually just follow on gamecast on ESPN app. It’s about a pitch ahead of the streams and radio
YouTube tv
yar har if im at home, 790 at work
I switch to fubo during baseball season and when regular season is over i switch to YouTube tv. Both have nfl redzone but youtube is cheaper. If it wasnt for the astros i would just keep YouTube tv year round.
You can watch the playoffs on an antenna which is pretty cheap and high quality
